I couldn’t have picked a better initial sit. This site was recommended by a trustworthy sitter with years of experience. They offered great advice. Everything they mentioned was true. On my initial sit: The pet’s temperament was relaxed and happy. This company describes sits well. There is an active support system that works well. Every angle is covered. Take care on your journey. Leave each sit better than you found it. Keep it simple. You’ll have to trust your instincts. Remember it is not your home but make yourself at home. Bring your smile. Enjoy those fur babies.

The site really helps you to provide all the information sitters need, as well as provides easy ways to communicate in the first instance. We used Trusted House Sitters from June 19 to July 3, 2025, for the first time. Our experience was positive. Our house was just as we left it, the sitters kept us posted while we were away and did many activities with our dog. The sitters watered plants and laundered their bedding.

This is a wonderful opportunity to explore new places and discover beautiful corners of the country. We're new to the platform and have only been using it for a few months, but we’re already in love with this format.

We have a rich history of being around animals — back in Ukraine, we always had a house full of pets. We've been living in the U.S. for three years now and, for the time being, aren’t in a position to have a cat or a dog of our own. Our kids truly miss that part of life. Thanks to TrustedHousesitters, they’ve been able to care for animals again, play with them, and share their love.

This summer break has been especially joyful — and a big part of that is thanks to this amazing service. Thank you!

THS has gone down in my estimation.
After being a loyal member of this global site for more than 6 years I will not be renewing when membership expires later this year.
Unless you pay a top premium membership (which is somewhere in the region of £400 per annum) you could be left in the lurch in a foreign country with absolute zero assistance. Through no fault of my own I had the housesit from hell and THS done very little to nothing about it. Indeed the so called 'pet parents' who had confirmed dates with me have simply deactivated their account so have not been held to account for the distress, financial loss and sheer awfulness of the whole experience inflicted upon me. With many more global housesitting sites now available I will look at transferring to one of these which might offer a better safety net for a lone female traveller (housesitter) without charging such a high premium.

I love Trusted House Sitters. It's a way of travelling and exploring new places with a furry friend. You can stay in some gorgeous houses and have made some friends who have invited us back several times. Couldn't recommend it more!

Don’t waste your time or money. I had literally over a dozen people contact me confirm with me and cancel with me within 24 hours or less (and I feel like I live in a pretty desirable location for people to come and housesit - Hawai’i). And when I finally got one person that fully confirmed with me about a week before my trip they canceled on us. In a scramble, we weren’t looking at the terms because we paid extra for the insurance in case we got canceled on that they would cover for us to pay for a dog/house sitter but if you don’t tell them that the sitter canceled within 24 hours you lose your insurance. So basically we got canceled on by over a dozen people, we paid extra for insurance and didn’t get the insurance coverage. And when we reached out to them, they basically told us to go F ourselves. So if you wanna waste your money twice paying for this service and then paying for a dog sitter at the same time, then go ahead and use them. And it isn’t cheap I think we paid almost $300 for our trustedsitter account and the same amount for the dog sitter we had to pay out of pocket so yea.

Also I just went on there website and looked under plans, no where on that page does it say you have to report it within 24 hours, like I shouldn’t have to dig through multiple pages to find all the rules and regulations behind my insurance policy if it’s that strict.

I first heard about TrustedHousesitters from friends who were sitting for a family in Santa Barbara every winter for a few weeks. They were happy, the owners were happy, a true win-win for everyone, especially the pets :) Ive used TH a few times over the years and have had a great experience, every time. Easy interface to interview and connect with future sitters, lots of emails to make sure you are ready for the sit, and helpful reminders before, during and after the sit. Thank you TrustedHousesitters, you make travelling stress free :)

I really the opportunities the app allows, sometimes it’s a touch glitchy but iv been on 5 separate sits so fare and have had amazing experience staying in beautiful places I other wise wouldn’t have seen as mine are country sits. Every place iv gone to the hosts have been incredibly accomodating with some slowing me to arrive a couple of days earlier. The video chats I fined are incredibly important as it’s an opportunity to listen to your gut and see how it sits with you, I’m travelling by myself so this is always an important factor for me

We have found this to be a great service, each Petsitter/housesitter has been wonderful and we have felt confident leaving our furry friends and our home in their care. It is such a relief to be able to go on holiday without the worry about the house lying empty and without having to put our pets in to kennels and catteries, and obviously the animals are delighted about that too! This is a service I would recommend to family and friends and we will continue to use in the future.

I hadn't used the website before and signed up for a premium package. However, I haven't been able to find a sitter and interviewing the sitters was quite stressful as when I offered one, I didn't hear back and whilst setting up interviews, others took other jobs. The website implies it is a straightforward process and I am sure many people are luckier in finding a sitter. I must have missed it when reading terms and conditions but you can't actually get your money back if you don't find a sitter within 14 days.

The problem I'm having is your app stops responding in the middle and or when I'm finishing up my application for a sit multiple times. Then the application disappears and I have to start all over again.
I can tell when it starts happening the words or letters start to hesitate before appearing. Then I have to try to finish quickly. It's getting really old and quick.

We have had bunny/house sitters from this site about 2-3x year since 2021. All have been fantastic. What we love most is the "culture" of those on the platform. Sitters want to take care of your pets and home and at least for us, we care about their experience and enjoying themselves. The platform makes it super easy to recruit and research sitters. After having a few 15-20 minute video calls, our problem is who to pick?
