The product is very heavy sitting on…

The product is very heavy sitting on your laptop and the monitor always falls over. One screen hardly ever works. I have tried to contact them several times and they are either busy and you can't reach anyone or they don't respond.

One star is too good for them

Lots of positive reviews and feedback. I can’t disagree with most of it, but as an owner and user I will say that I’m disappointed with the support and customer service I received recently.

I’ve used mine for over a year and never had to use the hdmi ports until recently, when I began using the tri-screen with a laptop that only has one usb-c port. So I connected the Xebec adapter and could not get one of the screens to work. I called support, they had me download and update the display software, no luck. Come to find out, the hdmi port is bad. But because I’ve owned it for over a year, their response was basically too bad so sad.

I also received an email from someone l assume is in customer service when I asked to speak to them, stating that I had no other options but to spend $300 for a replacement unit.

I responded to the email asking to escalate this matter to a manager as I feel that since the hdmi port was never used, Xebec should help resolve this problem.

Had I known that it would potentially be an issue, I would have tested all the ports when I first got the tri-screen. Highly recommend that if anyone buys one of these, that they do just that.

Since I sent the first email reply asking to speak to a manager, I’ve sent two more with no response to any of them.

Seems I’ve been ghosted. That’s disappointing as I actually like the product and i’m simply asking for some help getting this product issue resolved.

I work in the service industry and would never “ghost” a customer simply because they want to escalate an issue they have with one of our products. We always find a way to resolve the problem
or concern and pride ourselves in retaining our customers, as they are the backbone of our success.

So again, this is a good product overall. As for their support and customer service, I would say they could use some fine tuning when it comes to resolving these type of product issues. I would think they’d want to dig a little deeper in case there is a potential quality control or product reliability problem.

Screens need protection- exposed and easily scratch or break

I want to like this product (especially after the price tag)
More than one screen is required to do my job well while traveling but as I purchased it was not clear I would need an adapter for my Mac Airbook M2. Had to order & wait for that w/ additional cost. The instructions are not clear on the FAQ or the videos about connecting the adapter and you DO need both monitors plugged in (the video shows you only need one screen plugged in with 2 cords)

After scheduling a support call the guy seemed annoyed to help me and that it was clear I needed to plug in another cord. I expressed the instructions do not state this. The cords/adapters are also very short needing extensions and more cords. Not very mobile friendly.

Also there is NO protection for the screen when folded up and traveling. The screen got a scratch on the first transit. When you fold the screens they are exposed and a small amount of pressure can break the top screen. This could be a small change to the product but SOOO useful seeing this is a "travel/portable" screen extension.
Given I paid $479 ish in total and still only have one of the screens working and it has a scratch I wish I would have went cheaper route.

It can be effective when it actually works which is some of the time

Side monitors continue to drop out even after a "replacement unit" was sent out for $300 until I send the original back. We have tried multiple replacement cables and that also didn't not fix this situation. The monitors randomly go dark and reboot all of the time. The second unit is marginally better than the first but it's still not acceptable. The screen sizes are also extremely small forcing you to enlarge the magnification settings which causes problems with the scroll bars on browser windows. When you have problems, expect abysmal customer service which is pretty much non-existent unless you badger them for answers. It's a solid concept, but the execution falls way short. This is better suited for someone who doesn't actually work but likes to sit at Starbucks ogling the baristas while pretending to run a hedge fund.

Love It - But....the Power Situation is No Bueno

Honestly I love the concept, the idea, the execution and it has Really Helped me with expanding my screen size and ability to multi-task or move between screens as an instructor and coach.
My One Huge Problem is that the 'extra port' was supposed to allow users to plug in their 'power cord' to continuously charge the laptop as the Xebec eats a lot of energy. --- Hardly ever works. 4 out of 5 times I have to disconnect a screen to plug in my laptop to charge it.
I used multiple charging cords including the one provided by Xebec to no avail.
Otherwise really awesome.

Not Reliable Terrible Customer Service Stay Away

If I could give the company and product less than 1 star I would. I purchased this product as a gift, it was used once when it arrived. The person I purchased it for wasn't ready to use it for work, so it sat in the box undisturbed for a year. When it was taken out of the box one screen wouldn't work, it just stayed yellow. When contacting the company to ask for help troubleshooting the problem, they didn't even bother they said it needed to be replaced, remember it was used twice. But because the unit was two weeks out of warranty, they said sorry nothing they can do, but I can buy another one refurbished out of the box for $300. So what this tells me is, that if they didn't even bother to troubleshoot it and had refurbished one's laying around, they must have known that what happened to my screen isn't unusual. There was no offer for me to pay the shipping to return it for repair, just nope, nothing we can do, buy another for $300. Stay far away from this company and their product as they clearly want to sell their $500 screen's but don't care about anything else. To give you a comparison, I had Best Buy Geek Squad debug a two year old computer a few months ago that was out of warranty, fully expecting to pay for the repair and they didn't charge me, that's customer service and they will get my repeat business.

Despite being the most expensive…

Despite being the most expensive product of its kind, it’s junk. And worse, the manufacturer does not stand behind their decisions.

There is a a manufacturing defect in the way that the unit is engineered. One screen doesn’t work, despite no cracks in the actual glass of the screen. When I contacted the manufacturer to let them know about this, they responded that I could pay $300 for another, because I hadn’t purchased a third-party insurance product on checkout. The monitor didn't suffer any impact or friction, other than being shipped to me. Looking at it, the problem is that it's designed with nothing protecting the screen when it's folded down, unlike every other portable external laptop monitor I've had previously.

When I explained this to Xebec, I couldn’t tell if they didn’t understand or played dumb. The result of their decision not to do this is that any amount of flex can apparently break the screen. This thin piece of plastic prevents the strain that broke the screen in transit. It is a very simple engineering solution. It does not require a third party insurance product.

The fact that Xebec offers this insurance is an admission that this is a manufacturing defect. Even when Apple products failed because of these types of engineering defects, they have always replaced them, for free. None of Xebec’s competitors’ products offered or needed insurance or replacement. Even after years of use, they still work great.

Because of the price, I thought this monitor was an upgrade but apparently it's a severe downgrade. It would be cheaper to buy two monitors from their competitors.

Misleading

Their website is misleading, as it says that their Tri-Screen Workstation works on any laptop, but it doesn't. I had to buy adaptors, which were recommended by them, and they screens don't work properly. After complaining, they said that the problem was with my laptop and not with their product. They offer me return the product to them, so they could analyse, and if the fault was with their product, they would send me a new one. But if there was no fault, I'd have to pay the shipping cost from America to the UK. The buyer has no guarantee with this proposal and first of all, it should work with any laptop, as their website says.
