Zero Customer Service & Zero Stars

Zero Customer Service & Zero Stars

This company offers cheap prices but there is a reason for that – they have zero customer service.

Whilst they will play nice at quotation stage, when they have your money, they change their attitude and if you query any minor thing, they become unprofessional, rude, and entirely unhelpful, and try and put the onus and blame on you for their poor communication and service. There is no accountability for issues, no responsibility taken, and they are instantly defensive, patronising, and sarcastic in response to simple queries. Staff do not provide a phone number on their e-mails and if you ask for a Manager’s detail, they simply ignore the request and suggest they refund the order, and that you go to another supplier. It’s an utterly bizarre way to run a business and I don’t know how they have any customers at all.

Whilst I would always want to support a smaller business, I would suggest to all that you not be lured in with their cheapness and go with a bigger, more reputable company instead who will offer good customer service and be far easier to deal with. To be frank, I am unsure how this company have been in business since 1976 given their poor customer service (and judging from other’s reviews this is not a one-off instance but a widespread company culture) and the fact that they are so happy to lose business/orders over minor issues.

If I could give Supplies for Industry zero stars I would as I’ve never dealt with a company like it and never had such poor customer service!

Exemplary service from Supplies for Industry

For many years I have used Supplies for Industry for our cricket tour shirts. They manage the full end-to-end by supplying the shirts, manging the artwork and printing front and back. The project management from start to finish is exemplary with regular updates along the way and the price is super competitive. They turn things around in super quick time and are always super friendly and helpful.

Outstanding service and quality!

I can not fault the experience and quality of service I have had from Supplies for Industry, from advising to reviving my order. The quality of the hoodies we have received with our brand new personal logo has been outstanding! We are absolutely in love with our new merch and can’t get to buy more!!

I reFive-Star Commendation: Exceptional Service and Transparencycently had a fantastic experience…

I recently had a fantastic experience with this company, and I felt compelled to share my positive feedback. My sincere thanks to Michaela for her outstanding service.

The prompt delivery of the coats I ordered was impressive, arriving exactly as promised. What sets this company apart is their upfront communication about stock availability—something rare in the industry. Michaela's transparency exceeded my expectations, making the entire process smooth and reliable.

Despite my order not being the largest, the level of service I received left a lasting impression. In an era where customer treatment is often tied to spending, this company's commitment to keeping their word is commendable.

Wishing the team a wonderful year ahead.

Fantastic customer service

Fantastic customer service. I received my order promptly but unfortunately I'd ordered the wrong colour in a sweatshirt. I called them, they said return them. I returned them with a note in the box and a 2 days later the new colour arrived. Good old fashioned exchange with no hoops to jump through. Fantastic service, highly recommended!

Incompetent in quality and service

22/6/23. I email an enquiry about a specific hat.
Quote; We can get the B654 Camper Cap and all of the colours. The cost of the cap is £3.45 + VAT. We would need to see what logo you would want on them before I could give a costing for that. If you email me over your logo then we can take it from there.
I subsequently got my logo drawn up and emailed it over. Paul sent me a real life embroidered proof (see logo on blue background) along with prices.

10/7/23 Quote; Attached is the embroidered version of the logo. This is the only size we could do especially for caps.
The price of each cap would be £5.45 + VAT
You can mix colours and quantities that is no problem.

11/7/23
Paul sends me an invoice with the totals. And I pay it the same day via bacs.

19/7/23
I email just to ask about a tracking number and when they are to be posted out, as I've had no update since paying.

I get a reply the same day.
Quote; Hi, All caps are getting done tomorrow including your order so will be going out for delivery on Friday.
We add in your email address so you get notified from Parcelforce. Just always best checking junk and spam.
Regards Paul

21/7/23
Paul Emails with bad news.
Quote; Hi Patrick
Some not so good news regarding your caps. We are having major problems with the software that changes say a front chest logo into cap format. We have done your caps but I would not send you them out as they are not to the standard that we do.
We are waiting to hear from the engineer for that particular machine that does caps. From past dealings with booking an engineer it can be weeks rather than days. I can only apologise and I will refund your account as I can’t give you a date of when we will have this issue sorted. Plus you have been waiting a while as it is.
Kind regards

I reply the same day saying that's fine, I know things go wrong etc. And I'm happy to take a refund at this point.
I hear nothing back.
I email again on the 24/7/23 with no reply.
I email again on the 31/7/23, Paul replies.
Quote; Hi Patrick
Been off for a few days. Back in this afternoon. If you provide me you account and sort code I will do a bank transfer. I reply with my details and await my refund.

2/8/23
I receive a phone call from a polite woman in the office. She had rang to update me on my order. She said I can see you are looking to have a refund, however the machine is currently being fixed and we can have the caps out to you within two weeks.

I say, I'm happy to wait as I do want the products and I know that machines break and can be a pain to fix. (as I run sewing machines myself) I ultimately give the go ahead to have them done and wait a few more days.

15/8/23
I hear nothing from the company until I receive an email from Parcelforce with a tracking notification.

16/8/23
I receive the parcel. I open the box. I am greeted with caps with the poorest quality embroidery I could imagine. Every hat is different, either skewed, off centred top/bottom, off centred left/right, sewn over the next panel, stitches not joined up, stitching is wobbly or non existent. I also have 4 blue caps (only ordered 3) and 3 tan with white stitching (which I never ordered) To say I'm not happy is an understatement.

I send an email the following day. Explaining how after waiting over a month for 12 Caps, that this finished quality is just not on. And I do not accept the products and want a full refund.

18/8/23. A reply from Michaela, stating that no other customer has complained about their embroidery. And that all the hats have passed QC. I'm also told in the future to pick a different cap and have a printed logo. I email again on the 18/8 & 21/8 stating that the goods are not fit for me and I am still rejecting them under the Sale Of Goods Act 1979. I want a full refund.

21/8/23. Michaela replies saying saying they will pass my email on to their boss.

Today 4/9/23. I still have no reply, no refund and a pile of awfully embroidered caps.
What a great way to do business. Take people money, do a pathetic job and then ignore the customer when there's a problem.

No warranty and rude customer services

Having ordered over £1000 worth of workwear and another order ready to be placed, heat-sealed logos literally fell off of the hi-viz waterproof workwear. When I phoned to ask if their workmanship carried any warrantee, the young lady said there wasn't any and this was now 5 months old so what did I expect and put the phone down on me!!!!
Well, it was summer when I ordered them and it has been a fairly mild autum down here in Cornwall so the waterproof jackets hadn't been worn until just recently.
Certainly won't use this company again for lack of warranty for their workmanship and rudeness on the phone.

Ordered unprinted workwear for myself

Ordered unprinted workwear for myself. The purchase was large enough for free postage.

Everything arrived well packaged and in good condition, and the postage was superb, in my case they used a 24 hour courier. There was a small delay of about 3 working days for the specific colours I wanted to be available.

Would use again without hesitation.
