I've been with them over 20 years. and they drop me for filing a claim. Why do we pay into homeowner insurance? isn't that what it's for? To cover our homes? State Farm you suck!!

Had an accident which State Fram determined was not my fault and was told to get an estimate to repair my truck after almost 2 weeks of submitting the claim through my prefered body shop I have yet to receive an authorization to fix my truck, but if you are late with a payment they know how to contact you immediately.
Problem #2 you do all the work and your agent sits back and collects the commision from your insurance

Thank You, State Farm — You Incompetent, Glorious Disaster
Let me extend a deeply sarcastic thank you to Mark Browne’s State Farm office.
Because of your year-long campaign of neglect, failure to act, missed follow-ups, and a total inability to cancel a simple policy — despite multiple requests including a hand-delivered notice — I have now saved hundreds of dollars with Amica.
I’d say “job well done,” but we both know nobody was doing their job.
Your refusal to help — your very existence as an obstacle — drove me to seek alternatives.
And guess what? Turns out, better service, faster responses, real coverage, and $500 in annual savings were just a phone call away.
The kicker? Your “do not call” option was apparently just a suggestion. You failed that test too.
And while Carol sent the final cancellation after my Tzar Bomba meltdown, the real damage was already done.
To anyone reading this:
State Farm does NOT have your back. They have your money, your patience, and your tolerance — until you finally blow up like I did.
Now, I enjoy better coverage, lower deductibles, and peace of mind with a company that knows what the hell they’re doing.
Thanks again, State Farm. Without your gross incompetence, I’d still be overpaying.

Incredibly unprofessional
Incredibly unprofessional. When deciding on my claim StateFarm claims officer, Maurice Thompson sided with the offender who had caused me a rather serious auto accident, only because, as they stated, they "felt" his testimony was more expressive than mine. When I called Mr. Thompson out on relying on his "feelings" rather than factual data and questioned why I was the only one required to submit more documentary evidence but not the other driver, he ended the conversation and hung up on me. I've been with State Farm for more than 20 years, and never experienced anything like that, but possibly because I never had a claim. Absolutely unacceptable of any professional, in any situation, let alone when treating a long-term loyal customer. I am disgusted.

DO NOT TRUST This company
DO NOT TRUST This company. Had them for over a decade not one claim until A guy hit me from behind and took off. Called the police they gave him a ticket he damaged my car and my spine. Unfortunately for me he also had State Farm insurance so they refused to pay my medical bills , they told me we were equally responsible for fixing our own cars. I had to handle the situation with an attorney. They are a horrible company and you are not in good hands.

Once a claim starts , the respect disappears
Once a claim starts , the adjuster becomes beyond rude, microagressive and retaliatory if you file a complaint with the insurance commissioner. I had 2 fault accidents which I understand can lead to non renewal, but they ended up dropping my mom’s insurance as she had no accidents or claims as retaliation. When my mother called the adjuster Corey, he told her that he doesn’t have to explain anything. During my claim my adjuster interrogated me like I was a criminal and even laughed when I cried and said “ that’s how insurance works. Once I filed a complaint to the director and the Commisdioner the adjuster stopped answering my emails and then not even 3 weeks later I got the notice of non renewal. If I try to call customer service or my mom, it’s like we are marked as to be treated with the upmost dismissal and disrespect. Clients should be treated respectfully and not like they committed a crime. As an African American they kept gaslighting me saying my voice is loud when I video recoded proof of my voice being at normal levels. It’s absolute microaggression and I KNOW we are treated differently after our consumer complaint. We are paying a corporation to make us feel inferior, culpable. It is a suppressive experience that makes you feel very apprehensive about trusting car insurance company

Over one year for payment on a claim
Over one year for payment on a claim. They would not send out a claims adjuster and wanted me to do all the work for them and then they lowball all payment estimates. It has been over a year and still no payment received for damages.

Our agent terry Lavelle was nice in the…
Our agent Terry Lavelle was nice in the beginning. I rotate cars every six months, give or take a few days. I had been doing this for the first few years with no problem. One day I had called his office to let them know I was changing cars. I was told by someone in their office that I didn't need to keep calling every six months, so six months later i didn't make that call. I was looking at our bills, which are poorly accessible, and I come to find out they never put my other car in storage. I questioned them as to why and they said because I didn't call. I told them that I was told that I didn't have to call. He basically called me a liar and said nobody would tell me that. So instead of our agent trying to help us out, he told us if we wanted to we could dispute the charges, which we did. Then after a few very civil emails, he tells us basically to get a new agent. WHAT! Total classlessness and an agent who treated us extremely poorly. That after being with State Farm for 40 years! My wife and I were appalled at his behavior as before this incident, we were on great terms. As they say, it's easy to take a customers money when you don't have to do any work, but when they actually have to provide customer service, that's when their true character comes out. We knew right then and there we did not want Terry Lavelle as our agent, just awful. We found another State Farm agent who is like family. We couldn't be more happy and are very happy to have this in our rear view mirror.

Have had State Farm for over 50 years
Have had State Farm for over 50 years. Have a building that I have paid insurance on over 40 years and had a claim which the denied. Not sure why I paid all these years to be told they were not going to cover and will not give me a written reason why not. 2 claims agents had I talked to and asked for a copy of their report on the property said they would would send report they did but never received. Fooled up with my agent Scott Neudecker to get report amd support. All I get from him after collecting money from my policy was “ they are not going to cover your roof”. This is after 2 different roofers have said that the roof cannot be patched. I have asked how to get an adjuster out there with my roofer to resolve but they will not do so. Asked what grounds they are rejecting claim on and cannot get anything in writing. Anyone else having an issue and want to join in a lawsuit against them let me know. I am not giving up. I paid for over 49 years where they took my money and now with a claim they are screwing me.

After many years as a State farm customer they refuse to pay a claim
I have been a State Farm customer for many years. I filed a claim due to hail damage on April 18, 2025. I had a contractor come to my home and verify the hail damage. State Farm sent an inspector out and the contractor walked with him on the roof and pointed out the damage. State Farm claims verified hail damage on a metal shed and also on the metal chimney tops all over the roof, but denied that the damage to the roof was caused by hail and denied the roof part of the hail damage claim. I contacted them again for a reinspection, and also sent in numerous pictures of the damage.
The claims department did not even send out an inspector and again denied the claim.
I have pointed out a couple of things that don't make sense;
The hail damage on the roof is on the South facing roof, but the north facing roof does not show any of this damage. Claims states this is normal wear and tear.
Secondly, how is it possible to have damage on all the metal caps, and to a metal shed, but not on the roof?

I have State farm insurance for my …
I have State farm insurance for my homeowners policy I do not advise anyone to use them for a homeowners. I had a leak in my wall at the top of the pipe where the shower is there is no way anyone would know there was a leak unless you drill holes in your wall and check in there every once in awhile. A piece of trim fell off the bottom of my wall and it was discolored behind it then I felt up the wall and the wall felt soft but the appearance was fine so I had no way of knowing it was soft, I called State farm they sent an adjuster out two days later and he told me nothing was covered because I didn't call soon enough and the damage was proving that it was a constant leak for quite some time and I should have called when first started. He took 2 days to get there luckily I called a plumber and the plumber fixed the problem very quickly without tearing the wall out or anything but the insurance company won't cover anything, nothing, they won't even pay for putting fans under the house to dry out under the bathroom. I would definitely go somewhere else and check their policies for homeowners insurance they have a long list of reasons that they won't cover, they will not cover anything mold related in any way, so you have to go over the policy with a fine tooth comb. I now have to pay for my bathroom to be redone because the drywall was all wet around the shower and on the wood of the house I just had my pipes done under the house the entire under the house two and a half years ago if that long so I don't know when this started but it had nothing to do with that and it was not leaking then but they still won't cover anything.

While I was on vacation, my home was vandalized and robbed
While I was on vacation, the person who was watching my home, animals, garden, and grounds decided to remodel my home! My adjuster came out and said it was $12,000 worth of damage, but he missed so much - paint on the cabinets, scratched cabinets, so many items that increased the cost. He didn't include moving furniture, boxing, and unboxing of items, or a pod to put everything in while they are working! To top it off, the woman caring for my home murdered my service dog of 15 years by bringing her Rottweiler here who attacked my service dog. I couldn't bring him with me, because Japan's laws require they go into quarantine for 45 days. I sent her $2000+ to take him to the vet. She only took him one time. He died alone. She stole my larger dog and even my dog house and refrigerator. She brought in a professional thief to help her. They only came in at night. She knew my video surveillance doesn't work at night - in the dark. She was used to hopping 6 ft fences. She knew where the breaker box was and which switch controlled the video. I asked her why I had no feed. She said storms. I have roughly $100,000 worth of theft. The personal property adjuster said I must have been in on the vandalism and theft. I was not. The real property adjuster ignored my 50 photos of additional damage for 1.5 YEARS! My agent finally had to call corporate and he came back out, accusing me of wanting different color cabinets and all kinds of things. He's a jerk! NOW he's in charge of my personal property loss! The woman wore my ARMANI suit then washed and shrunk it! Someone cut the fringe off of my favorite boots, off of my leather jacket, stolen boots, clothes, jeans, jackets, SHOES! All of my bakeware was gone except for one glass casserole dish. They had scattered plastic pitchers, aluminum throw away pie plates and junk - a couple of bowls that I had left - all over in my cabinet where they were stored. They stole my jacuzzi, grill, all of my heirlooms and sterling silver - all antiques. They stole 7 piece sets of ALL of my fine china - 3 sets from my great grandmother, grandmother, mom, and my antique Wedgwood. They had 47 days to go through my home and take or break what they wanted from ammo, my ear protection, destroyed my shooting glasses. All I got from the current adjuster was a nasty-gram saying I had till July 1 to replace everything. Out of THOUSANDS of dollars of losses that I submitted, they paid $400+ and said that's it. I didn't even get ACV so that I could replace the items. I've had to replace things each month. My agent finally called corporate. The only reason that the adjuster came up on the price to fix my home was because the contractor met him here. The contractor told him that he under paid me - and the adjuster said "Yes. I figured I did." So that's telling me that they are trying to rip me off. THEN he said they are not going to pay for certain things that they are supposed to. I don't know if I'm going to have to get a public adjuster or appraiser or what! But they've treated me like crap! The woman from corporate was nice, but then it went back to the first adjuster and he was apparently mad at me because I guess I ruined his day. The personal property damage is over $10,000 - FURNITURE DAMAGE - and he said he wasn't going to pay for that. He said that Airwick air fresheners left on the couch was an accident and they don't pay for accidents. The tips were cut off of 3 air fresheners and they were upside down on my leather couch. They had PAINT and MUD all over my leather couch that had just turned 4 years old and that no one ever sat on. It was for visitors. It cost over $4000 and it's totalled. He said they don't pay for storage in the attic to get things out of the way so they could work and destroy my home! The things that they stored in the attic - all packed to move out - were things from my office and bedroom. They were working on the living room, kitchen, laundry room, garage - nothing to do with the bedrooms. PLUS they put HEAVY TILES directly on the drywall in the attic and put heavy boxes of books and items on it - boxes of encyclopedias and medical records from my office. They put boxes of reams of paper there from the office. It cracked my ceiling. They knocked out one structural retaining beam for the roof. They removed my GFI, stripped wiring, and removed my heat lamps - trading them for 60W chandelier bulbs. The electrician said my house would have burned down at any minute. I'm hoping that he'll pay for that. I've been living in tweaker city hell for almost 2 years. And hopefully work will start, but when I told the adjuster about my losses, he just got angry and said, "You BETTER have PROOF!" I do. I take a photo inventory of my things almost every year. But I don't have proof of all of my clothes. They even cut the tags out of my furs. Never a problem with cars or jewelry repair but this. This was NOT my fault.

Poor communication and customer service…
Poor communication and customer service from my claim specialist T. Berry. It was extremely difficult to contact the specialist. Phone calls were unanswered. No response to voicemails. The information that was provided to me was incorrect. Knowledgeable specialists are needed when customers are dealing with property damage due to storms.
Due to the storm, I now have tree and gutter damage. State Farm will not help cover any of my expenses. I am forced to pay for a detached gutter, removal of large branches from damaged trees and the removal of all the debris. Also the cost to replace food items that were ruined during the storm and power outage.
