Not Trustworthy

I would like to caution fellow customers about purchasing insurance from Reliance General Insurance, especially when it's done through VFS Global Services. I bought a policy for my mother, but due to a change in our plans, I had to cancel it.

The policy clearly states that cancellations made 15 days before the start date are eligible for a full refund. I submitted my cancellation request more than a month in advance. However, Reliance redirected me to VFS for cancellation, even though nowhere in the policy does it mention that cancellations must go through VFS.

What followed was a frustrating loop — Reliance asked me to contact VFS, and VFS sent me back to Reliance. This kind of mismanagement raises serious concerns about how claims would be handled abroad, especially in emergencies.

👉 Please note: It is not mandatory to purchase insurance through VFS Global. I strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance directly from a provider. That way, you'll have more transparency and control — especially for cancellations and refunds.

🚫 Avoid purchasing from Reliance via VFS.
💸 Save your money and peace of mind.

Reliance Travel insurance policy- Worst policy for travel

Reliance Travel insurance policy is the worst and they always try to reject your claim with some reasons which was never disclosed while taking the policy. My claim for delayed baggage for 4 days from Kochi to Sydney rejected with a reason of the necessary daily usage items purchased after date of insurance policy coverage period which was given for 2 days. Don’t ever use their service for travel insurance.

I am British Citizen in united kingdom . I invited my dad to united kingdom and decided to apply for travel insurance with reliance. One of the most worst experience i had while purchasing the travel insurance .I was trying to buy travel insurance for dad on 27/12/2-24 It went through the online form . i was unable to upload the id proof as it was throwing an error and they have also taken money from my Indian account 4993 rupees which is equivalent to 50 pounds uk money. i raised query with them with whats apps and they transferred me to sales department . they raise service request .They emailed us on 29th dec and 30th dec 2024 for id proof . which i send the id proof and there was no acknowledge that they have received.it is been 8 business days and no response from the team ... i have to contact them today and found the service request was closed. i try to contact them but the customer service does not know escalation point or IVR..one of worst customer service.i have to go through the whats app again and they are busy from three attempts
i dont know if the travel sales quotes get nuliified surely the money should come back to the respective account .but no acknowledge for that also .Please do not buy any insurance from reliance. if i don't get the 4993 rupees back to my account. i will think i have given charity to reliance insurance

Avoid Taking International Travel Medical Insurance

Try to avoid taking international travel insurance with Reliance. It is a scam! We took an international travel medical insurance. Just days before our travel, we were contacted by their staff and informed that the insurance is invalid due to name mismatch between what is given on Passport and PAN Card. They said that the policy shall be invalid if we do not buy a new insurance. When we asked them how would that solve the issue, they said that their team shall match the names in the new policy.

Excellent Job Reliance!

Worse service plz don't waste money!

Plz avoid this insurance otherwise you will regret it badly!! absolutely poor serive and most complicated claim system in the world full with out dated red tape, there is no such option cashless system for UK, there is no uk based help line you have to call India if you need help or email that takes long time to get respsone, our elderly aunt needed urgent medcial treatment in UK who bought this insurance for over 70 so we informed the insurance helpline they said we need to find a hospital ourself they cant find any or got any list so we found a private hospital went as out patient got the needed urgent treatment in 2 sessions and paid bill in UK pounds for her as out patient, they asked aunt to send doctor certificate who treated that we did then they said she need to get it stamped by hospital then they said send passport copy then said send page of passport showing india leaving date and uk entry date then they said send copy of Indian cheque blank cheque signed cancelled to prove it is her India bank account where they will send the claim payment but she sent them copy of her bank statement they said as per rules they need copy of cheque!! Who carry indian account cheque book coming to uk? She hed to get a letter from her bank manager, Then claims team said she need to produce copy of uk credit card statement from which we paid medical treatment bill, she already provided uk hospital letter confirming the amount of bill and invoice letter issued by hospital they said no they need copy of uk bank statement or card stament from where bill was paid! The bill was around £950 which was around one lakh as per exchange rates minus 100 US dollor policy access, it took 6 months to fight for this simple claim and we had to start formal proceedings th. Insurance Ombundamsn only then they processed this claim under the threat of formal action then they reduced the payment saying they had to convert pounds into US dollars then into Rupees so with 2 currency exchange conversions they further cut the payment but they finally made paypent after 6 months we are now working to put together a court case and going sue them in civil court for all that stress delaya poor service and not making correct payment and we are determined to make sure their head of foreign travel insurance must learn how to respect and treat customers well afterall we the customers fund the company and thier staff wages and they must not make fake adverts or share fake info that they never fulfil!! My most sincere advice is plesse do not waste ur money, this is the worse travel insurance we came across!!!

Don't recommend reliance travel insurance for travel to UK

Don't recommend for people travelling to UK. Even though company looks big and reliable but they resort to corrupt practices not allowed in UK. They say SLA to claim resolution is 7 working days but took more than 30 odd emails and phone calls to respond after 4 months. They request for medical records which is not allowed under GDPR and access it claiming medical knowledge and discredit even UK GP letters. Don't waste your money and would recommend to check review if any other insurer fair better.

Pathetic, its been 3 weeks since im trying to contact them to get claim forms. No response to emails, phone calls are on hold forever. They should be ashamed of themselves for cheating the public.

Worst insurance company… Never go for…

Worst insurance company… Never go for this..
I had travel insurance policy with them and my flight got delayed for 11 hours due to I missed my connecting flight. Tough my connecting flight was in India so they are saying now you can not claim for flight in India as this a overseas travel policy. And giving all the nonsense reason to justify it.

Guys never take any insurance from…

Guys never take any insurance from reliance. I had taken it for my personal loan and when I unfortunately lost my job, I applied for the insurance and from past 6-7 months I am not getting any update apart from asked to submit the documents. The documents which they are asking was already submitted 15-20 times whenever they have asked and every time I submit I call them and receive a confirmation even then they are not processing it. Very bad company. Worst customer service

A home insurance that covers uncertain risks of future

A home is not merely a simple construction made of concrete and bricks. It’s a dream which came true for many of us. We invest years of time, give up countless comforts in this process of turning our dream of owning a home into reality. Now, it’s a high time to secure home where all our future builds up.
I made my mind to get home insurance plan. I picked up the expensive items, which has to be covered under this policy and choose the reinstatement values for them. Elements covered under this policy are like Fire and other specific perils, Housebreaking and burglary, Appliances (mechanical and electrical), Personal accident.
After having it I feel relaxed in my inner self because this is what we live for and to make it secure has to be our prime concern.
