My 16 year old son worked for 6 months…

My 16 year old son worked for 6 months saving his $ to build is own computer. He has only had it for 6 months and now it sounds like an airplane getting ready to take off. They go out of business and now my some has a useless $450 computer that he worked very hard for and was proud of it. Very sad that they cannot refund or offer to repair for it.

My computer is 1 year old today and still blazing fast and not 1 problem

When my old computer went down, I went to a "big box" store to look for a gaming type computer.(Needed something faster than the old one) Found most were pricing at $2000-2500, and not that fast. Online, I found Portatech. I looked at their build sheet and found I could build one with Intel I7, 8086K processor, 32 GB ram (upgradable to 64GB) 250GB (SSD) including Asus 24" monitor, all for $1594.04. This is approx. 30 to 50 percent faster than "big box". When my wife's "all in one" goes down, we will be back! Special thanks to Steve, who advised us concerning peripherals that would work the best.

I bought 1 barebone and 1 mb/cpu w/…

I bought 1 barebone and 1 mb/cpu w/ memory combo in around 10 years. and on July 3rd, 2019 a new power supply as part of an upgrade for my 7 year old desktop. All went well--recd the power supply in short order. All working great!

Sorry to hear of the death of the owner. I hope all the deliverys can be worked out. Rest in Peace!

Buyer Beware

Bought a $3k machine that had glitches after I set it up. After a couple of tries troubleshooting it with phone support I decided to send it back. This was about 6 weeks after receiving the computer, and I had paid for the 3 year warranty. Portatech received my computer over a week ago and now they are unresponsive, and the voicemail is full. This is an extremely expensive scam at this point! I don't know what to do about it.

Paid for computer - but no delivery

Ordered a computer on July 5. Order #223786. 2 weeks later no update on delivery / tracking number. Computer should have arrived by now. Emails go unanswered, phone indicates voicemail is full. Just like several others I see on here over the last couple of weeks. Communication was quick before actually placing my order but once I paid, nothing....Had to file a claim with my credit card company. Only way to cancel an order is to send an email which of course goes unanswered. Am hoping it is some oversight but with several days of no response and no way to call it doesn't look promising. If it gets straightened out I will update my comment.

Ordered barebones on 3Jul2019

Ordered barebones on 3Jul2019. Paid for two day express build and two day shipping. Today is 17Jul2019. No contact from Portatech, no computer. When calling them, their mailbox is usually full and unable to leave a message. You can not get a email to them as their contact page seems not to be working. Also paid an extra $79.00 for tech assistance and warranty, probably a waste of money..... spent $1365.04 and absolutely nothing to show for it!! Buyer Beware!!! Order #223773.

I purchased parts for a computer 7/6/19…

I purchased parts for a computer 7/6/19 I normally build my own but with this company this is not an option, so I have been waiting for it to show up. Today is 7/16/19 and no show so I start trying to contact them for follow up on my order. First I'm asked for normal stuff like order # and zip code to look it up and am told order has been held and to contact cust support. So I try, phone goes to a mailbox that's full. Try to email cust support, can't, their email form isn't configured properly, it tells me to enter their email address, there is no place on the form to enter an email. Dead end. I'm thinking I've been scammed. They had no problem taking my $600.00
It's been 5 days now and after many requests to refung my money or ship parts, still no response. Phone mailbox is still full and no calls are being returned from cust. support.
I THINK IT IS SAFE TO SAY PORTA TECH is a SCAM.

Does anyone work there?

223773 was my order number

I mean NO ONE works there, wanted to add some things. But what do they care? days of emails, there phone number is a joke, no one answers during their "Business hours", There phone box gets full in an hour and remains that way for the whole day. I wanted to throw the little guy the business, I just should of stuck w/ newegg. How hard is it to answer an email? or return a phone call? I am about to put in a fraud thing through paypal. The way they accept Paypal is messed up to, it is like sending a "friend" money. Not a business.

Steer Clear

Steer clear of this company and here's why:

1. The cooling system for the computer I ordered did not fit the case properly and instead of providing a cooler that fit, they jammed it in with screws at 45 degree angles. The radiator fans do not even sit flush with the case.

2. The computer was not wired properly...the power button was not even connected.

3. The processor was dead on arrival, despite the fact that the computer was supposedly tested for three days before being shipped. This ended up costing me about $100 at my local computer store to diagnose.

4. Portatech did provide me with a replacement processor, however they billed my credit card company $364.99 (The price of the processor) without notifying me that I was being charged and certainly without my consent. I have attempted to contact them about the charge via phone and email for two days and have received no response. Their support phone line takes me to a voicemail inbox that is full and tells me to call back later and I have had no response to my emails. Clearly I am going to be forced to contest the charge with my credit card company.

This is probably the worst shopping experience I have ever had.

This will be the 4th unit I have…

This will be the 4th unit I have purchased, no problems one time I had a question and they answered it right away. Always has been on on time delivery. Great workmanship, only reason a 4star this time was the actual unit I wanted was not in stock and could not order, so had to spend a little more then I wanted on a higher model. Well update to the purchase. I ordered 7/1, have not seen the unit or am I able to get any communication as to where it is. I received an order confirmation but no tracking info. No one answers the phone I have sent 3 emails, so something has obviously changed from my other purchases. Hopefully this works out but not holding my breath.

Extremely disappointed

Extremely disappointed, when I received my desktop still during business hours, the wifi PCIe adapter was completely dead, no lights, no functionality. I paid extra to be sure everything would be functioning and ready to go, and was more than inconvenient to find that it wasn't. When calling customer service it said mailbox full, quite unprofessional. I will modify my review when these issues are resolved, and made right. (Original review before receiving pc) Best prices I could find, simple UI, nothing fancy but your website and ordering process is barebones and simple which is excellent.
