Happy new customer. Tech arrived bright and early this morning. Whole install/set up process is painless. Love the eero app! Thanks, oxio, for making our first experience a very pleasant one.

They used to be a good company

They used to be a good company, but they are very terrible now. I have had their services for a couple years now I am moving so I asked to switch over the Internet to my new place. They stated that they needed to get a technician there. I said please don’t send him in the morning till 2 PM as we’re moving. I asked for around 3 o’clock. They sent him there at 10 AM then I have been trying to get a hold of them through chat text email Instagram and Facebook for over 72 hours I took screenshots. They read my messages they won’t return or talk to me. Their customer service has to be the worst I’ve ever dealt with lately. I highly recommend you for a different company.

Review of OXIO after 1,5 years

I have had OXIO for about 1,5 years and the service is quite stable. I do experience speed delays on my TV sometimes (this is why I couldn't give it 5 stars). But I've never had problems with our computer, phones, or tablets. I have chosen 75 Mbps. Perhaps if you opt for a higher speed, it might work perfectly. However, this is not such a major issue for me compared to a deal OXIO has offered: no extra charges (no contract, no cancellation fee, or connection fee). Initially we've connected and activated it without needing their service person to come to the building. By the way, you can have your first month is free if you use a code (REJ7WM4) during registration.
To sum up: it is not ideal, but a very good option as far as price if you are looking for inexpensive and generally reliable internet service.

Support is non existent

My internet was in and out for about 30 mins...I powered down the modem, did all of that more than once. Sent a text to their "support" number and also sent my concern through messenger. Their response time is terrible. The problem with their "support" process is they offer no support from what I can see. I'll be looking for a new provider, I recommend people not sign up with Oxio.

Absolute Waste of 2 Weeks

Absolute joke of an internet provider. Equipment did not recieve internet, so I contacted their customer support, who offered to book a technician for 3 days later. This meeting is fine, tech arrives on time, but cannot fix the problem, so I am asked to rebook another 3 days later. This appointment arrives and I recieve a message saying they have no technician available so they rebooked it to a week later instead of asking me if I could find time sooner. Argue with customer support about this poor organization, and the best they offer is an appointment ANOTHER 3 days later. This third appointment arrives and the tech never shows up. It takes customer support 3 hours to respond, and all they offer is another 3 day wait. At this point, the landlord and I are both irritated that we have booked the time to meet with them multiple times and the issue is not resolved. As compensation? They offer a shockingly impressive... 20 dollars. Absolutely ridiculous.

So far so good

So far so good, when I had difficulties getting the internet installed I was put in touch with a human straightaway away and we solved the problem quickly and professionally. Mike

Internet works great

Internet works great. The network is the same as Cogeco or Rogers. We've been Streaming and wfh meetings with no issues. This is great for people that want an affordable Internet service (RS4Y9KK).

I converted from TekSavvy so I didn't need a tech to come in to wire the internet, simply swapped out the modem and used my own wirless router.

Stay Away - No depth there to resolve problems

We have been with Oxio for 18 months now. The first year the service was as expected. Happy people. Then the service started going down more and more. We are now at 20+ times a day that the service goes down.

There answers and resolutions ideas have long ago failed to resolve the problem. Changing cable ends, and changing out their router - nothing is fixed. Their responses to the problem continues to be the same non-resolution response.

Was great service but went south in a hurry.

I write this review reluctantly but must do so, given how my experience ended with Oxio. For 2 years everything went smoothly, no issues at all. But then about 2 weeks ago I started having connection issues with all devices. I’d lose the connection for no apparent reason, often every 2-3 minutes and then it would take many frustrated attempts to get the wifi working again. This was particularly problematic when streaming a hockey or baseball game. Technical support was no help. Over multiple days we swapped out the modem, then the router. This did not fix anything. Then they said there was a line issue. This was a scam as the Cogeco techie came by and found the line to be fine. Oxio offered no advice after this. They just didn’t seem to care. I asked for a credit for all the lost downtime and they refused. That was the last straw. Goodbye Oxio. I’m now with Netcrawler and no issues so far. 🤞

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Impossible to get any support if/when you need it.

No place to call, text message only and not available in the evenings.

Combine that with below posted speeds and lacking hardware its a complete waste of money. Go with another higher tier provider and save yourself the headache

Good price, easy setup, but....

The price is right and the setup was easy.... but I can't get past the wonky connection speeds. It seems all over the board with some devices seeing twice the speed as others while some wont connect at all. My phone will test at double the speed of my hardwired PC and my game console won't connect by wire from the same switch as the PC! It's so frustrating and no amount of modem/router power cycles seem to help.

I have rarely seen speeds even close to the advertised 1GB that I pay for. Perhaps its the silly EERO router that came with it and I'm willing to buy my own in the hopes that it'll do a better job.

If I remember, I'll update my review after testing a different router.

No equipment or service yet charged for both.

Never received equipment and my account was activated and my credit card was charged without my authorization. Equipment was sent to the post office but I never received notification and so the post office returned it to Oxio. They informed me that they would refund my credit card once I'd returned the equipment. After several phone calls over several hours, they were able to produce a tracking number from CP and acknowledge the issue was between the two of them. I had to fight to get a refund even though the equipment was never in my hands. They seem to have no interest in providing service and just want a credit card number which they will charge without providing service.

Very fast response and efficient service. From the time I called to the time I got back online it took about 30 minutes. So impressed! Also, Oxio costs half of what I was paying before AND the connection is better! My zoom screen doesn't freeze since I switched!

The internet service and online help…

The internet service and online help were not bad! not amazing but not bad. Upon cancelling (my household had higher demand than they offered). They requested the equipment be returned via Canada post.

I happily returned the equipment and went about my life.
4 months later they say i have not returned them, and the receipt for the shipping/tracking code is long gone. I am now stuck with a 350$ bill for equipement canada post lost and there is nothing Oxio can do to help and are not willing to lower the amount due because of the time that has passed. They refused to look up the generated shipping label assigned to my account in order to find the tracking info and there is nothing canada post can do either.

Just be careful, not bad people and not a terrible service but very unforgiving. Very unhappy considering i had oxio internet for 2 months. feels like a bit of a scam to collect on the equipment.

Marketing company disguised as an ISP

Awful company. Awful support. Delivered a new modem and router to the wrong house then told me to contact purolator? Then kicked me to the back of the line.

No clue what they’re doing. No escalation policies. If you have any other option then go with that.

Bad communication and customer service despite the ads

So far, pretty bad, honestly. The rates sound good but the customer service is poor. They don't have a call centre so if anything goes wrong you can only reach them by text and email and it take them hours to respond, not a "matter of minutes." The people who respond are also not equipped to reply except through a very rigid script. It's been a tremendously frustrating experience so far. They advertise themselves as the hip and fun anti-establishment Internet company but they seem even more disengaged and corporate in their communications than the big guys.

Total garbage

Total garbage. They came at my house for an install(cogeco subcontractor), the tech cut my old service at the connection point to reuse the fiber instead pulling a new coax. I ask them to do so to not lose my old provide and they didn’t. They left my house and I had to wait 7 hours for the tech to close the ticket so oxio could do their activation. At that point the coil tech only told me to wait and there’s nothing they can do. Once activated the service didn’t work at all. I already lost a day at that point and wasn’t able to do any of my remote work. The day after I had to send them a text which I got answer 2.5h later that they will escalate. After escalation they told me that the only way is to send a new modem that will take 4 days to arrive. I had to re do all the connection at the connection point to gain back access to my old service because again there’s nothing they can do except making you wait. Cancelled right away. Horrible experience, all the companies that I made business with before always had the service up and running before leaving.
