Right eye cataract surgery in April…

Right eye cataract surgery in April 2025 then left eye 2 weeks later.
Before cataract surgery I was short sighted and now I’m long sighted, which was rather a shock. At no point from start to finish was I told I would be long sighted after the surgery.Absolutely no Communication from the surgeon when I asked for an appointment he didn’t turn up I was sent away, told to make another appointment. The optometrist at the Colindale branch was extremely rude to me and my husband.
Im so upset didn’t imagine it would be like this can’t see a thing without my glasses now maybe because i was an NHS patient I was treated like this.

I had multifocal lens replacement…

I had multifocal lens replacement surgery and there was zero follow up after week 1.

After many months of sight deterioration I made an appointment to query my issues. I was told on arrival that I could go back home or stay for a minimised appointment time. I had traveled into London from Kent!

It appears that I need laser to rectify post operative issues.... I had an appointment booked to test my eyes, to see if the laser was finally an option. I'm struggling and I am desperate at this time.

Only 24 hours to this appointment it is cancelled. I have booked and paid my train ticket. I was so desperate to have this appointment - things are really wrong!

I cannot recommend this service, once they have your payment they don't care.

Make sure anaesthetic is working.

I Had cataract surgery at Optegra Manchester on the 14th May as a NHS patient. I was aware of every poke and cut made. The anaesthetic drops I had a hour before surgery did not deaden the eye at all. I was also told I would have a post op check two week later. It is now ten weeks and I have heard nothing. Sadly I feel I could not return for the second operation as it was very painful and traumatic.

Clear and colourful vision after two weeks

Less than two weeks ago I had a cataract removed from my left eye. I can now see everything much brighter and more colourful than I thought possible. I can even watch my television without my prescription glasses, and I’ve still got my right eye to do. Can’t wait but I know I must be patient. The reception staff are helpful and kind as well as are the nurses who guide you through every stage. Also not forgetting the surgeon who patiently replaced my lens. In short I cannot praise them highly enough. This was the Optegra eye hospital in Kings Hill, Maidstone.

Avoid this company

I Had RLE with Optegra in Didsbury privately and was told I had 12 months cover. I paid almost £8000. Within 2 months I had eye conditions I'd never had before. MGD, BLEPHARITIS, DRY EYE, UVEITIS and then Posterior Capsular Opacification. They never told me about any of these ongoing painful conditions and refused to give me an apt when I rang with symptoms of PCO. In fact they discharged me 6 months after my op. I had to pay £2000 for corrective surgery elsewhere and Optegra refused to take any responsibility. Please check PCO and read up before considering surgery. PCO is a very common complication of RLE and cataract surgery. Optegra claim to treat this for free if it develops then discharge you leaving you to sort it yourself. Optegra....shame on you. You said you would learn lessons after the last person you did this to tragically took his own life! You are a disgrace.

I had cataract romoved both eyes under…

I had cataract romoved both eyes under the NHS at Optegra, Over all services are OK. The hospital is nice and clean with nice coffee machine for their customers. The service is quick. The only one thing is the follow up after surgery was refer back to the optician so you will never be seen by the eye doctor.

State of the art hospital in Yorkshire…

State of the art hospital in Yorkshire . Fast, efficient and very effective cataract treatment by Mr Rehman. This surgeon really knows his stuff and thanks to him, the world is a brighter place! The operations on both eyes was painless and much quicker than I anticipated.
I cannot recommend this surgeon and Optegra Leeds highly enough.
