Health and safety risk, untreated water

We are currently staying at Marvilla Parks and we are shocked by the lack of care for guest safety. On our first day we visited the beach where our children played in the water, despite red tape that was buried under the sand and barriers that laid flat at the beach on the sand, there were no clear signs or warnings that the water was unsafe. We assumed these were there to stop people going into the water after a certain time as they were laid flat. Staff allowed dozens of people, including children and myself (27 weeks pregnant), to enter the water after watching is que to enter and pass them as we headed to the sunbeds.

Today after returning and being in the water for nearly an hour, staff suddenly announced the beach was closed due to untreated water. No warning was given on arrival, at check-in, or by beach bar staff. I was later told an email was sent a month earlier, before our arrival — which is unacceptable, especially since cancelling within 28 days would have meant losing 90% of our booking cost.

Worse still, the beach bar stayed open, making it seem like the area was safe — clearly prioritizing profit over guest health. Extremely disappointed and concerned. Would not recommend.

Saint Avit Disaster

Decrepit Home....
We planned our arrival date to be the day before our daughter's birthday with the hope that the site would be a lovely surprise for her. Instead, she was crying on the night we arrived and wanted to sleep in the van that we had traveled in. In her room, there was a serious infestation of TERMITES, they were running between her bed and the bedside table. During our stay, we also had ANTS in the main bedroom and on one occasion had a large number running across our pillows. When I informed reception, I was told that it's to be expected because their site is in the countryside. However, we have never had this problem in previous sites located in the countryside!
There was NO HOT WATER in our van upon arrival. We had to wait for someone to install a new gas canister outside the home. This was hours after our arrival. The BROKEN DISHWASHER could not be used for our first two days as the door caught on the skirting board and could only be partially opened. One of the uncomfortable sofas COLLAPSED when we sat on it, we picked up the pillow and saw that the wooden slats had fallen through. The same thing happened to the double bed in the main bedroom where my wife was lying, she could have been seriously hurt. The linen that was provided was UNCLEAN and covered in hairs. A light in one of the bedrooms was broken and the lock on the bathroom door was broken. The sliding bedroom doors would not stay shut which made it difficult to get the kids to sleep without switching the living room light off.
We arrived at the site at 330pm, we were going back and forth to reception each time we discovered a new problem and didn't get to feed our children until 9pm. We also had to cater for people visiting our home over the first four days as different repairs were carried out. The bathroom door lock was never repaired as they claimed that they didn't have the part required. This was difficult for us because one member of our party is not part of our family.
The day after our arrival I was shown and offered two alternative homes. The first thing I saw upon entering the first one was another broken collapsed sofa, there was also a bedside table hanging off the wall in a bedroom. The second home had a canopy over the decking area that had completely collapsed. Aware that there might be even more problems to be discovered and having already spent a long time moving our belongings into our present home, we thought it best to stay there.

Marvilla parks (Homair

Marvilla parks (Homair - the parent company) and Canvas holidays

We returned from a month holiday in France. 3 weeks of this staying on the Lac du Provence site ( MarvillaParks) in Provence in the south of France.
I payed for a 2 bed premium mobile home with dishwasher. This was going to be a real help as I had broken my wrist a few weeks before. Arriving on the 12th June
We were given the keys and went down and started to unpack
This mobile home was very disappointing and not what I’d payed for. No dishwasher. Lack of kitchen equipment. Soft cushions of the couch completely ripped under the window. No kettle. The reception was now closed and we couldn’t do anything until morning. The following day we found that the shower rail would not move. The shower head at the top of the rail and facing the wall. Useless. The shower tray did not empty properly and still did not when we left.
We reported this to reception and hoped to be moved.
Not so. The reception staff chatted and kept looking at the laptop and said they would have to contact head office for a refund and get back to us. No other van available.
In the meantime we went shopping
On return, there was a note on the table apologising. Stating that we would received a 91.23 euro refund. Also a kettle and a pack of biscuits. The shower head was fixed.
So so upsetting.
We then found ants in the kitchen, which we reported and was told someone would come and spray. No.
A couple of days later the ants were everywhere. In both bedrooms on the beds and in the cupboards in the clothes. My husband was very angry and demanded something being done immediately or to be moved to another van, site or we would leave and he would sue. The inside was sprayed immediately.
We then had ants on the outside eating area. Sprayed again.
I went into reception at least 3 times to find out about my refund. It was not in my bank account. All they said was it had been sent on the 13/6 and to contact my bank. I did. This proved very difficult as there was extremely limited internet access. Had to leave the site to make a phone call. There was no evidence of any deposit from Marvilla Parks. The staff were definitely not interested in helping and seemed to favour French/other European tourists.
I hated being on that site. Tried to contact Canvas holidays (who we had booked it through) on a number of occasions. No success.
Either no one answered or we got cut off.
Still no refund after leaving the site. As we checked into a hotel after driving halfway back I then found a withdrawal of £77.58 from my account.
We telephoned Canvas holidays, managed to get through and discussed this. we were informed they would investigate and be in touch . They didn’t.
If you’re thinking of booking a Marvilla Parks site or Canvas holiday DONT. What shameful companies
My holiday was completely spoilt
We later had a call from a lady from Eurocamp holidays.
Canvas and Eurocamp all now part of a larger company.
She refunded £200 pounds saying she couldn’t understand what was going on and to email canvas when home. We did and received a reference number for investigation.
Suprise suprise, no contact
They’ve had our money, they don’t care.
Poor poor service Canvas holidays

Don't trust them

Booked direct with the company as all Eurocamp air conditioned carsvans had gone. Booked in May only for the confirmation to come through in July as we paid in installments, stating that there was no air conditioning. The company tried to say that our original confirmation stated no air-con but I know this is nonsense. I had a fluent french speaker confirm this. I have emailed the company to this end and surprise surprise no response. Terrible company to deal with, absolute cowboys

very bad holiday provider

Last week we went to la croix du vieux pont, what was once a beautiful campsite has deteriorated enormously in recent years.
toilet blocks are old and dirty and the mobile home we had was extremely dirty, there was mold and rust in several places and it smelled!
We complained about this at the reception, but they replied that if you book a midweek for 1000 euros in the main season, you cannot expect more than this.
Absolutely hopeless...
I hope with this review to warn everyone and know what to expect if you go here!

5 Star Camping & 1 Star experience

We had a bad experience with Marvilla Parks at 5 star Camping “La Croix Du Vieux Pont”

We first tryed to keep the complaint to the direct firm, but as they haven’t come back to us we share our thoughts here.

We got an apartment at their 5 star camping, and wasn’t told at booking, or after that our apartment which had same Prices as different and better located apartments
Was over a bakery and the shop which caused every day between hours of 5-7:30 a truck just underneath our apartment to cause noises. If that wasn’t enough the apartment was too granted by a lovely toilets just beside and over the heating station and so on. Noice all the times, and stank of urine everyday it was sunny, so we couldn’t use the front terrace.

One week before we arrived June 2024

One week before we arrived June 2024, got an email from homair to say our package in carnac les menhirs was changed and we had a smaller mobile, options accept or cancel. Booking done in January so I was not happy. Had no option to accept as we were leaving next day to stay in benodet (with sandaya, who are brilliant). I went back and forth with Email and tried to figure out how this happened, all I got was computer glitch? Anyway was dreading arrival as I was going to fight my corner, however the people on site were wonderful and said this is happening to everyone as homair are now doing bookings for euro camp too and over booking on their system. My mobile wasn't too much smaller and I negotiated all the items be returned to me in my package ie WiFi, cleaning sheets and towels. But I had to really fight for it over email and threaten all sorts of repercussions if my holiday was ruined due to their mess up. I gave an extra star only because the people on site were lovely.

Les lacs du verdon - Don't do it

Les lacs du verdon - We went here, and will never return. We booked via Roan 'Luxury camping Holidays'...... The mobile home was fine. The people from Roan were not however. But the people in the park itself are far worse. Not one person that could speak another language but french, this was both in the pool and also in the shop, snackbar etc etc. I know we are in French but being a campsite that plays host to people from al over Europe, you'd expect the animation to at least be mutilingual, but no not one word of English. The people in the pool make it feel lik your in prison, contstantely checking you out to see if your eating/drinking something. At one point screaming at our friends 8 year old daughter as she ate some crisps (this was before we knew you werent allowed snacks by the pool). There are ways to talk to people but this wasnt it.

Disappointing

I am writing to express my disappointment with the holiday I have booked through Eurocamp and Marvilla Holidays between 07/04/2024 - 12/04/2024 at La Vallee.

When I first booked via Eurocamp we chose the campsite we wanted in a completely different location, but due to the park's no opening I was given this park as another option for the same price, which I was happy to do having no experience with Eurocamp.

When we arrived at La Vallee, we checked in relatively easily, although trying to understand the broken English and vice versa was a struggle.

We arrived at our caravan 193, to find we had some mold on the walls and the kid's beds, we reported to reception and were just told to wipe it down which we repeatedly did throughout the holiday only for it to continuously return. And with a daughter with asthma, this is awful that nothing further was done.

We attended the clubhouse most evenings and being easter holidays hoping the events advertised would be on. There was meant to be 2 mini discos that week followed by a quiz. We attended the first mini-disco on 10/4/2024, but unlike any other holiday park attended everything was done in French and no other languages included. This was such a shame for the kids as they could not understand a thing. The quiz was supposed to be on straight after the mini disco and after asking 3 times that night some excuse was made it was canceled due to the weather (it had rained that morning but the rest of the day was lovely, clear skies).

Also to add only one lovely man in the bar was able to speak English, which helped massively as our French is quite broken so not everyone was able to understand. All other staff in the bar were rude and kept looking and sniggering at us, making us feel unwelcome.

Daytime entertainment for the children was barely on, and again advertising as a eurocamp no one spoke a word of English. My partner and his brother tried to attend darts and football, waited for about 20 minutes and no one showed up at the time it was supposed to be on (probably the weather again).

We went swimming a few days of our holiday, on the first day of swimming we were the only people in the pool (a family of 8), and no lifeguard was anywhere to be seen for the first 30 minutes. When she then arrived she just sat on her phone scrolling videos. In the time of being in the pool, my niece got out and sat on the side but unknown to us had removed her armbands. She had got back into the Pool and while attending to the other children she had gone under the water, only to the quick reaction we got to her, she was coughing up water and struggling to breathe with no intervention from the lifeguard. We know the children are our responsibility but lifeguards are there to help and she did not. This situation was reported to Reception who said it would be recorded and dealt with. After this, I still rarely saw a lifeguard back in the pool area when walking past.

Finally being on holiday and sitting on your balcony having a few drinks was not acceptable after 11 pm. They came over every night and told us we now had to go inside as it was too noisy. Bearing in mind we are on holiday with 4 children of our own who slept through the night with no problem, I have never had a problem enjoying my holiday till late in a UK camp. We were always respectful of other people around us.
I thought I should write this to bring to your attention the kind of camps you are offering via Eurocamp. As a whole I was extremely disappointed with this Eurocamp holiday and for being the first family holiday abroad with my daughter, niece, and nephews. This has made me very wary to book another holiday abroad with your company after the awful experience and unwelcoming atmosphere we have experienced.

A Sleepless Nightmare - Avoid This Camping Place at All Costs!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the supposed camping paradise known as "Marvilla Parks" Let me tell you, it was anything but restful! If you value your sleep, sanity, and basic human comforts, I strongly advise you to steer clear of this place.

First and foremost, let's talk about the nightly shows that were inflicted upon us. From 9 pm to a mind-numbing 11:30 pm, we were subjected to a never-ending barrage of noise and obnoxious entertainment. Trying to sleep amidst blaring music, screeching children, and a poorly executed variety show was an exercise in futility. It felt like being trapped in an eternal nightmare, with sleep becoming an elusive dream. I genuinely believe they designed this place to torture insomniacs.

Speaking of children, there were hoards of them running wild throughout the campground. This place seemed to be a breeding ground for hyperactive little monsters who lacked even the faintest notion of personal space or consideration for others. It was more akin to a daycare center than a serene camping destination. If you were expecting a peaceful retreat, think again. This is not a place for teenagers or adults seeking tranquility; it's a never-ending circus for unruly children.

Let's move on to the accommodations, or lack thereof. The so-called "houses" were an absolute joke. They seemed to have been constructed using twigs and mud, with all the structural integrity of a house of cards. To say they were poorly made would be a massive understatement. During my seven-day nightmare, not a single night passed without some sort of disaster befalling us. The beds were akin to sleeping on rocks, and the toilets were a ticking time bomb. One minute you're answering nature's call, and the next, you're ankle-deep in toilet water because it decided to spontaneously malfunction. It was utterly revolting and unacceptable.

I had hoped that a week in nature would rejuvenate my soul, but instead, it left me physically and mentally drained. Marvilla parks is a waking nightmare that robs you of your peace, sanity, and hard-earned money. I implore you, for the sake of your well-being, find a different camping site that prioritizes the comfort and tranquility of its guests. This place is a disgrace to the very notion of a camping experience.
