Warning - DO NOT POST YOUR WATCH WITH ROYAL MAIL -Tracked 24H

This is not a review of Locker, Hull & Thornton, just a warning about watches being stolen by their local Royal Mail Leicester North DO.
I posted my watch to L.H.T for service using Royal Mail Tracked 24H. The following day the tracking message said the watch was being held at the above DO due to L.H.T instructions not to deliver. The watch never reached the service centre. I have spoken to them and asked for help as it's their Royal Mail business account. They tell me their postman states there are no outstanding parcels awaiting delivery.
This was over two weeks ago. I am pursuing the RM lost parcel service but they do not inspire confidence and take weeks to do anything. Given that these Royal Mail staff deal with L.H.T regularly, they know that most L.H.T parcels are watches. I believe my watch was stolen by staff at Royal Mail. If you need to use this watch repairer, please be careful how you send it them and DO NOT USE ROYAL MAIL Tracked 24H.

Victorinox Night Vision.

Easy process to send my watch in. Victorinox Night Vision needed a new movement and lighting circuit. So pleased they could repair it. The watch came back well packaged and sent via Royal Mail Tracked. Great Job. I’m over the moon.

Excellence

My 52 years old Roamer which had been serviced elsewhere a few years ago needed to be revived. Locker, Hull and Thornton serviced it, replaced the glass and crown and, though not asked to do so, thoroughly polished the case - all within an agreed cost and timescale. It now works again, of course, and looks as good as new.

I am very pleased at having been provided with a first class professional and courteous service.

AVOID LHT LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I sent my watch to Locker Hull and Thornton to get the gasket replaced. After inspecting it, hey told me the minimum was a battery replacement, costing me over £70 in total. They sent the watch back NOT WORKING with a receipt emphasising that only the battery was guaranteed, no other work whatsoever!
I emailed telling them about it and their answer was if I want it working it will have to be serviced at a new total cost of £195 and even at that price they were doing me a favour!
AVOID LOCKER HULL & THORNTON unless you want a hefty bill for doing NOTHING!

Fantastic service

Fantastic service received for my 10+ year mondaine watch which had stopped working. Clear process and emails to have the watch repaired and serviced and returned to me all very quickly. Very impressed - many thanks!

It started off well …ordered a new…

It started off well …ordered a new strap for a Mondaine which arrived the next day. Over priced in my view but it is not available elsewhere. Arrived minus the pins to fix it. Telephoned to ask for them to be posted same day but told ‘we don’t post on a Friday, you’ll have to wait till Monday’ also told it wasn’t their fault but the fault of the people who provided it to them! Quite rude manner. When I said I won’t be using them again, I was advised they didn’t care about that. Hey ho.

Avoid this company and don’t trust what…

Avoid this company and don’t trust what you are told.I rang to discuss a repair for a victrinox watch under one year old.It only needed e new battery and I was told to send it to them for a no charge repair.This turned out not to be the case and before the watch would be repaired and returned I would have to pay £37.50 .A negative review from a ripped off customer.Don’t get stung by this outfit.

Sent my Luminox watch to be repaired

Sent my Luminox watch to be repaired. Advised me of timescales to complete work but was fine with me. From posting to receiving back was a couple of months. The movement was replaced, battery fitted and 2 new strap loops fitted. The watch looks good as new and working perfectly. Very pleased with the whole transaction. Would not hesitate to use again and fully recommended.

I purchased a LUMINOX "THE ONLY EASY…

I purchased a LUMINOX "THE ONLY EASY DAY WAS YESTERDAY " stealthed out CHRONOGRAPH Model Ref N° XS.358.EY back in November 2021. Within a week I decided I could not live with the stealthed sub dials, ie I couldn't read the buggers. Calling the company and explaining my problem to Pradip, he asked me to send the watch and a list of the works I want doing and they would see what they could do.
This jobs included.
The DIAL and HANDS from Model Ref N°
XS.3581 White accents on Black and white hands.
The BLACK BESEL from Model Ref N° XS.3581_BO. (I do not dive).
I received a very good quote with a very reasonable price Inc VAT within a few days and authorised and paid immediately.
The quote said that the jobs would take approximately 3 weeks. However due to both covid and Brexit, it actually took approximately 7 weeks to get the parts from Switzerland. Abd because I was kept upto date all along, this was not a problem.
The watch posted yesterday 26/01 arrived promptly today 27/01.
The Watch looks fantastic and even has a test certificate. I cannot recommend this company, its workmanship or its professional and certious staff highly enough. And I look forward to dealing with them should I require their service again.

Sent my Rolex to them for repair £800…

Sent my Rolex to them for repair £800 for a winder avoid at all cost, customer service 0 in my opinion they have had me over, they could not even get the information on the receipt right, described my Rolex as Gold plated poor attention to detail worse company I have ever used. PLEASE DONT GET CAUGHT OUT. and do not post your watch.

A Most Excellent Service from L H & T

My Mondaine watch was stopping and starting, so I sent it in to Locker Hull & Thornton for a full overhaul. I could not be happier with the service I received. My watch was inspected, diagnosed, cleaned and repaired all within 1 week. I am very happy with the cost of repair too. I would not hesitate to recommend the team at L H & T.

Disappointing but Functional

I understand that this company is not a Swiss watch house so quality is going to be lower but.... I sent my watch off for a warranty repair; my watch was two weeks old from the point of manufacture. They repaired my watch successfully - as far as I can tell - which is why they deserve some credit. However, receiving my watch back, I have noticed quite a few scratches on the case back which definitely weren’t there when it was sent for the repair. One scratch can be felt with my nail.

Bit disappointing really.

Service took 4 weeks and was sent back Royal Mail Special Delivery 1pm

Professional and effective

tl/dr; fixed watch. Good communication.

I got an automatic Mondaine watch with a broken crown stem fixed. They estimated a reasonable price for a repair over email, so I accepted. They advised I send it special delivery, and that they would send it that way on return.

As soon as they got it, they noted receipt and the condition by email, and then a few days later I got news that the date mechanism was seized, so it would need a full service. I accepted the new cost, paid, and then... Leicester went into full lockdown!

It was a couple of weeks before I got an email saying the watch was repaired and on its way, and the next day I got it back.

It's working better than before, and is fixed too.

Repair of Accurist & Seiko watch

LHT repaired my Accurist watch bracelet and fitted a new battery. In addition, they repaired an old Seiko watch in need of some TLC. Pricing was fair. Job was done quickly, watch was returned via Royal Mail Special Delivery within a week and was packaged well.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. THEY DAMAGE YOUR WATCH BEYOND REPAIR

This is the only company to have worked on my watch. I sent it to them to replace the glass and the bezel. They returned the watch with a bad scratch on the back which was obviously caused by the tool they used to remove the back - it has skipped across the back, not only damaging the back but also the case of the watch. Their response? send it by at my expense and they'll see what they can do, but then started to blame me for the scratch to the case. I have photos both before and after proving it was them!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. THEY DAMAGE YOUR WATCH BEYOND REPAIR. OCTOBER 2018
