You just lost a long term customer
After using System Mechanic for over 10 years(it went through various name changes), each year when it needed renewing i would look for the best deal, and usually pay around $25, never once did it auto renew. Last year however I has issues with it and had to get hold of the company, who finally tracked my original purchace down, and continued my account.My problem was this year not only did it auto-renew, they charged me over $100, even though on their website there were offers for $28.
I tried contacting them by email but got no response. It wouldn't let me access my account, it said the email didn't exist, even though that was where the emails were sent from, and there is no way on the app to see or cancel an auto subscription.
After I filed a complaint with PayPal, they ignored the complaint for 10 days, and then just said that it was in my terms and conditions. Very poor customer service.

System Mechanic is a tool I have used…
System Mechanic is a tool I have used since 2011 and does a very good job but their habit giving you a free months trial of tech support you didn't ask for and then charging you for it every month is nothing less than a scam. I have had to contact them in the past about this. They will refund you for one 30 day period but the rest they run laughing to the back with. Don't touch them with a barge pole.

Avoid System Mechanic
System Mechanic did nothing but slow down my computer. The "help" desk people were very difficult to understand and not helpful (Maricel was professional but could not help with my issues). The solution offered by Ivy was to "upsell" to a more advanced program.
I purchased the program on Saturday, noticed no changes on Sunday, and tried to claim a refund on Monday. I was told the sale had already been "processed" so I could not have my money back... but could use the program for the full year. Why would I want a program that did nothing promised in the advertising? Most disappointing!

Byepass+
This is the second call to tech support regarding Byepass+. It appears that the new product was not throughly tested before placing it as an update. The first tech fixed; however, when I rebooted my computer it did not function. I waited for several days hoping that a new update would be released. Today, I called support again. This time the tech, whoes skill, english professionalism, and personality, shined throughout our conversation. He replaced Byepass+ with the old program which worked excellently.
