they want a monthly fee to store your VHS tape to their website before they will allow you to convert it to DVD or USB. minimum of 3 transactions if you want a copy on DVD or USB, all because they want to give you a 30 day free trial hoping you won't cancel in time. Took my tape to Walmart for 1/3 the price and was very satisfied.

The service is okay but their relentless email solicitations is more than annoying. After 4 requests to stop, I still get junk from them! Had I known that I would have gone elsewhere. - JLM

We'll see how this goes, but on my first order, I never got an email notifying me that my order was ready for invoicing. Extra fees have become a real pain in this industry. It seems that every scanning company is gorging themselves on extra fees. Why can't we just have a simple basic price for scanning a photo and making the file available for download for a month after completion?

Timing - it stated on the website that it took around 2 weeks to digitize a VHS tape. They have had mine in the queue for 5 weeks with absolutely no movement. When I called to speak to a representative she told me that they, 'had tried to change that on the website.' What? Your business is digitzing and you can't change your own website? Hidden fees - watch out, there are quite a few. I sure hope that they do a good job on my one VHS tape because if they don't, I will be back to write another review. Not at all pleased with this company.

The quality and accessibility of our videos have me giddy with delight. Seeing them reminds me of so many things. Thank you very much!

Disappointed. Did they digitize my VCR tapes? Yes. But one of them is grossly out of sync - music and dance. I actually have the original tape AND a VCR player and it is synced perfectly. Also, their website quoted 2-3 week turnaround time when I placed my order...yet it took exactly 7 weeks!! There were additional problems with the digitizing that could have been fixed (terrible static not on the originals) that they did not even try to fix. Bottom line: I would not use this company again.

I sent in my movies and got them back after I paid a large sum of money and I guess since I didn’t download them in the first 30 days I have to pay more money to see my videos. I somehow missed that notice.
The last 30 days have been a blur with the loss of my mom and of course it’s very timely to be able to share these videos and now I don’t have them
I don’t understand what did I pay for?

I previously wrote a review on this site in which I gave a rating of 1 star to this company due to my disappointment specifically in the AI enhancement of some old color photographs I had sent in. My photos had faded to a sort of pinkish haze, but a tiny bit of color was still visible. After posting my review I was quickly contacted by the iMemories VP of Marketing. He bent over backwards to make me happy - working on improving the color quality himself and giving me a significant credit on the cost. I was ultimately happy with the final product and couldn't believe the effort he put into remedying the problem. The VP told me he had shared my input with his team and they will be working on improving the AI outcomes for these types of photos in the future.
I would definitely give a 5 star rating for customer service!!
The 4 star rating is because I'm not really sure when the improved service will be up and running for everyone else.

I am updating my review from my initial experience in March. The marketing rep reached out to me after my initial review to help improve my experience, and I did appreciate it. I was initially unhappy because I had sent in and entrusted iMemories them with my photos, but I was unable to get into my account. They seemed unable to fix the issue, and the woman on the phone implied it was something I was doing wrong, my computer etc. When I asked to speak with a manager, she said I couldn't since she had gone home (even though it was midday). Her only solution was to ask if I wanted to cancel the order and pay to have everything returned. Very disappointed.
However, using chat and troubleshooting on my own, I was able to rectify and get into my account. The marketing rep who reached was helpful and wanted to offer me something to make up for it. He did offer to upgrade my digitalized photos with the enhanced feature.
I have since received all of my digitalized photos and videos. I am happy to have them, which is all I ever wanted. I assume I received the upgrade. Hard to say, but they look nice so I'm good. I would give them 5 stars except for my initial contact with the service rep.

Beware!!! This is a ripoff site!!!
They don't tell you that a copyright material can't be processed and won't refund you for what you paid. They also aren't upfront with their pricing and want you to pay a monthly fee in order to have access to your material.

Deceptive pricing. They advertise $19.99 but that is just to ship your materials. Once they get it they hold your materials hostage to extort another 31.99. They also use fake reviews to attract business.

The signup process and box sent was super convenient. They make it very easy. We confirmed and paid for the quote on 2/21 and still waiting. I sent in 4 VHS tapes and they said 3 weeks and we're over that now. The ease of use and experience is great. In my opinion, they should try and close that turnaround gap. Prior, I used a local company and it was a couple days turnaround time. Granted, not as convenient and I had to drive 20 minutes to drop off tapes and I could have paid a premium to have this done quicker. It's all about value and I'd probably just drop the tapes off next time at at local shop. If I knew the process would take over 5 weeks, that's what I would have done.

I did not receive a confirmation that my video was uploaded to their site when I signed up. I waited for a few weeks and called them and was told I needed to send them a payment up front to start the job. That was unclear. Their site advertises a cost of $14.99 per tape. Which I found out is the cost for a cardboard box ONLY to ship your video tape in. Click on the pricing page on their website to see how this is misleading.
The duplication cost I found out later was $46.98 making the total cost $61. Why not be up-front about the costs? Having a category of tape brand and time to calculate actual costs would be in the best interest of customers.
When I did receive the video I thought it was going to be saved to a thumb drive, which I thought was included in the final cost. That is extra. The video quality duplication was poor, quite grainy for it was Beta tape which is usually higher resolution than VHS. You can stream your videos for a limited time only. ( You have to pay for storage, another hidden cost they don't tell you about) I tried downloading my videos as they advertise but the download link never materialized. They claim it can take up to 12 hours to download a single video! My file was only 3 gigs. I send larger music files that are downloadable in 15 minutes. Poor service, hidden costs and quality not the best is why I gave them a low rating.

I started this process on 12/5. It is now 2/25 and my order is still "in progress". This has taken a ridiculous amount of time. If I had known this going in, I would have used another service. Absolutely unacceptable!
I wonder how long it will be until I get my USB drive?? We going on 12 weeks at the moment, almost 3 months.

I sent in a total of 1,400 35mm slides for processing. IMemories worked with me until they knew I was a happy customer. Seeing family pictures from the 1950s through to the 1980s was a lot of fun. What is even better... is sharing them with my family. I look forward to my next trip in to see my Dad. He is going to love them! After all, he took most of them.
Yes, I'd like to thank Geoffrey and Chellie for their excellent communication via email. They addressed all my concerns and really made me feel important to them.
My order was 35mm slides to digital processing, order #0006931805.

I located a vitally important hi-8 recorded movie and I needed to view asap. I was unable to view on my camera because it had been discarded. I then tried my hi-8 player/recorder and it malfunctioned, I then tried my Hi-8 compact player and it also failed to work. I checked the internet for Hi-8 transfer to CD and I selected "imemories" as it was #1 recommended. I paid the transfer fee 23Jan2025 however on 26Jan2025 Fedex delivered a large over-size box for my Hi-8 cassette. I sent back the same over-size box that day however, 10 days later they said they received my cassette that was delivered to them 7 days ago they now required a password and an additional fee to process my order. I called & was advised another 2 - 4 weeks to view the on-line conversion & that I could not get a CD until I viewed the on-line conversion & pay another fee.

I haven’t gotten the product yet but I will say their customer service person was pretty unprofessional. I paid 15 for the box and the return cost is 50.00 in 3-4 weeks which is there turnaround time. There was no discussion about format or anything else other than when are you going to pay. I mentioned the invoice price didn’t include the 50% off and she told me I needed to add the code to their invoice, but she would do it for me. I’m an oldster and wasn’t born in a digital world but I would appreciate better customer service. Maybe add an oldster call in line 😊

Bad results. Recently I had some slides digitized and the finished product was substandard. Many of the reproduced images had unnatural color shifts and in numerous examples the copied slides were so underexposed that it was impossible to correct the errors on my computer. Shadow areas lost almost all detail in more than a few images. The copied images also contained many dust specs as a result of the slides never have been cleaned before the digitizing. Other services had done this so I expected it here also. My resulting complaint was met with the response that I didn't understand the process, what was possible and how good the quality of my order actually was. Sadly this all had no basis in fact as I am a professional photographer since 1979 who has used other copying services over the past 20 nears without ever experiencing any such issues. Having read so many positive reviews I felt compelled to write this and relate my personal experience.

We were terribly upset and disappointed when we saw your so-called “professionally digitized” videos. There was no improvement at all, and the audio was not even there on some of the videos. And all the videos were not even transferred. We would like a full refund. We made a DVD from one of the video tapes years ago and that DVD is better than what you did. This “one-of a kind experience” was awful. Your reviews seem too good to be true, and they are.
