Ideal Homes Orangeries and Conservatories - Paul Jones and Robert Jones

Paul Jones and Robert Jones are the Directors who knowingly misrepresented the firms capabilities and the tasks that were undertaken. The handling of the planning with the Stroud District Council was amateurish and nothing short of incompetent. Both Directors made false statements, did not respond to emails and upon a failed planning application refused to return our deposit. Legal action was taken and the company was ordered to repay the deposit plus costs. The Directors failed to turn up to court and have ignored the court order. The matter has been handed over to Debt Collectors but they have to date ignored the Court Order and avoided payment. The matter is now being pursued through the courts.

Theft of deposit

That was the worst experience ever! I will always be afraid to rent villa going forward. This summer we rented vacation villa in Portugal, Algarve, village: Loulle. Real cheaters! After two weeks since we left villa, they sent Photos that we demaged some furniture and outdoor tiles?! Which was not truth! All stay we had issues with villa electricity breaks and clogged toilet. The purpose of that was to steal our 1500 EUR of deposit. We are going to involve lawyer to get the money back, but it will take time. Deposit its just hidden part of the price. Stay away from Ideal Home Rentals and Never pay any deposit ! BTW initally they wanted to get deposit 2 months before our arrival ! Its clear that its cash flow creation!

AVOID AT ALL COST

The orangery had a massive roof leak within 3 months of completion (collecting buckets of water in the house) that was not resolved in more than 1year, destroyed the ceiling and went from a £1,500 fix to over £7,000, they stopped answering calls or emails, and IGNORED THE LEGAL ACTION taken through a solicitor's letter of claim. The construction was also a nightmare, it took more than 1 year and they reneged on several promises made in the quote. They are now in active proposal to strike off, which means they will dissolve the company - THEY HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE, and start again under a different name. Avoid any similar company that remotely resembles the name of Ideal Homes, or involves Paul or Rob Jones! They should be reported and prohibited from ever abusing customers again.

SCAM

This company has swindled almost 16000 pound s from us promising to make a conservatory. They started the work in August 2023, left us within a week after erecting the sidewalls. They lied on each and every occasion when I tried to contact them. Paul Jones and Rob Jones never responded to any emails, even though we formally escalated the complaints as advised by Citizen's advice. Now, I can see from gov.uk website that they are seeking for striking off the company. Please object to this move as creditors by emailing Companies House. I am unable to upload the email ID because of Trust pilot regulations. From the previous reviews I can see that they have done this in the past. Please AVOID ..
Edit: Soon after I put this review on Trust Pilot, I got a phone call from Paul Jones which surprised me as they never responded to 30 plus emails or phone calls. He kept on saying that he did not receive any emails as the company has gone into administration since December. This is not true as the company status is still active on the Gazette/Companies House website. We contacted another company last week to see whether we can resume the work, as there is no hope that this company will do this. To our disappointment, the survey report says that the work until now is substandard and they have used the term condemnable at least in three places. The new company which is registered with DGCOS says that the entire structure needs demolition because the foundation is inadequate to hold the weight of the structure and will suffer from subsidence , cracking or splitting within a few seasons.

Worst building company ever. Scammers

Good at getting your money, terrible at delivery. Wouldn't recommend them to an enemy. Basically a dishonest a fraudulent team.
They have a bizarre payment structure in that you pay them a deposit and then they wash their hands of any support. They sent some strange plumber who made a hash of things which we had to have corrected...at our cost as they refused to pay.
Sealed unit failed in 2 years and no reply or comeback from Paul Jones the owner. Amanda did reply a few times but then nothing. No replies to emails or phonecalls once details of faults were sent. Charged us for drainage that wasn't installed and the guttering was held together with tape! Bunch of scam artists. Even some of the labourers said they hated working with Paul (called him Jasper).
I could give a huge list of faults with our orangery that we've had to rectify ourselves at huge cost. And they weren't even that cheap.
Save yourself the aggro and headache and go with a reputable company.

Just been told when I rang them up by…

Just been told when I rang them up by the lady who takes the calls that Ideal Home Orangeries and Conservatory are going into liquidation. It seems that this has happened before to this company and they restart up again by changing their name. I had written to them but had my letters refused even though they were Signed For and Special Delivery and returned to me. Amanda would not answer any of my emails or telephone calls I made, it seems that there was a problem starting in October about they could not get the frames due to shipment etc etc. I will be taking this further as they need to be stopped trading ever again. Seems like they do not want to return your money when you have asked for a refund due to no collection of goods which you have paid for. Karma goes around Mr Jones and work colleagues. It seems Ideal Home Orangeries and Conservatory couldn't care less about their customers letting them know the company is having difficulties. Take the money and run , enjoy your many holidays on our expense. Hope you have a conscious ! So disappointed and let down.

SCAM-Fraudulent company-AVOID at all cost

Beware! Scam Alert - Stay Away from Ideal Homes Ltd Orangeries and Conservatories
I wish I could give zero stars for this company because they are scammers. Our experience with ideal homes has been an absolute nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my story to prevent others from falling into the same trap. Following Mr PJ(owner) first visit to our property he promised to build and install the conservatory within 1 month.
We initially paid £6000 as deposit to Mr PJ(owner) after signing the contract. He then brought a surveyor to whom we paid £500. Then he brought his builder to whom we paid £7200 who built dwarf walls however we found out that he’s used wrong insulation material. Mr PJ(owner) again visited the property and asked for another payment of £4000. Meanwhile he had not delivered any part of the conservatory. Two weeks later on 1st of December 2023 he again visited the property and requested another £10000. At that point because he had not delivered any structure, we only paid him £6000. After this payment he completely disappeared and despite calling his so called “office” and mobile numerous times, we never received a call back from him.
The owner (Mr PJ) was quick to take the money but disappeared when we started asking questions about the services promised. Not only did they fail to deliver their commitments, it felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic designed to drain as much money as possible from unsuspecting customers.
Attempts to reach customer support were futile; our messages and calls went unanswered. It became increasingly clear that Ideal homes had no intention of providing the services they promised. We then decided to visit his London “office” in south London, however we found out that it is only a cloud office and there were no real offices there.
It's disheartening to see how effortlessly they exploit people who trust in the legitimacy of their business. I later discovered that this company has a history of issues, with numerous complaints against them and few weeks ago we received a sham letter stating the company has been made insolvent. I wish I had researched more thoroughly before getting involved with them, and I hope this review serves as a cautionary tale for others.
In conclusion, avoid this company at all costs. They are nothing more than a well-disguised scam preying on unsuspecting individuals. Save your time, money, and sanity by steering clear of this fraudulent operation.

SCAM SCAM SCAM PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH THIS COMPANY!

This is the most horrible company to work with. Paul Jones is a scammer who goes around scamming people of their hard-earned money in the name of building a conservatory. Everything he says about finishing a conservatory in three weeks is a lie. We were made to pay a deposit of £6,000 to him on the day of visit, then a further £500 for the surveyor. Afterwards, a builder was brought in to construct a wall, a base, and two dwarf walls. Paul insisted that we pay £5998 for this, which we did. After receiving £12,500, Paul insisted that we pay an extra £10,000 before they proceed with any further work. The wrong insulation material was used for the wall, which is unsafe. Because this company has left us so unhappy, we are getting ready to sue.

Extremely disappointed with the services provided by this company. The initial promise made by the Paul Jones company’s director regarding the availability of staff (all subcontractors) and completion of the work before Christmas was not fulfilled. He took all the money and left us without the conservatory floor. He changed his phone number and despite my attempts to contact him via emails, I have received no response.
If I could score Paul’s customer service and professionalism from a scale 0 - 10 I would give him a ZERO.
I am extremely dissatisfied and seek legal advice in escalating this matter.

Extremely disappointed

We are profoundly disappointed with the services provided by this company. The initial promise made by the salesman regarding the availability of staff and completion of the work within a month and a half was not fulfilled. Although the builder initiated the work in October by constructing one wall, there has been no progress since. Despite our attempts to contact them via calls and emails, we have received no response. Assurances of callbacks have gone unfulfilled.

Regrettably, we cannot recommend this company, as they seem to be causing both financial loss and time wastage for their clients. We are extremely dissatisfied and seek assistance in escalating this matter.

COMPLETELY USELESS !!

Never in my life have I worked with a company as USELESS as this ! I met Paul in June 2021 and I must admit he has the gift of the gab ! Ideal home was supposed to build a solid conservatory for me and I'm ashamed to say I believed the garbage he pitched and paid him a deposit!
Their entire team was a sham , from the surveyor( who had no clue what he was doing and disappeared when the Sh** hit the fan) to the brickers ( who could not build 3 straight walls to sit my roof) , to Amanda in the office who's communication is completely appalling (Paul is no better)!
The only person on the team I had any respect for was the poor roof fitter who came 7 times to try and fit the roof but couldn't because the brickers didn't build the walls straight to accommodate it in the first place ( they came back to correct it and made it even worse than before ).
I had another builder on the project who was God sent and dealt with the mess on my behalf, straightened the walls and finally convinced the roof fitter to have a last go ! Thank God it's been fitted 5 days ago !
No one should have to go through what I went through! It was HELL and Paul was always on "holiday" when a disaster happened ! Completely Useless !
A lot of drama also happened in-between but the story's too long to write down !( from the brickers being extremely messy and almost getting into a fight with my new neighbors , to Paul trying to blackmail me into writing a good review, the list goes on...)
My advise to you? Use another company.. don't waste your time here...
Sorry Paul, this had to be said , you need to do better.

WARNING

WARNING, do not trust Paul Jones, he fabricates the truth, does not provide project management, leaves the house in a mess, does not know what is going on with trades and lies. We went to court, I won and he made Ideal Homes Europe insolvent and his other Director started Ideal Home Orangeries and Conservatories, same website and same micky mouse operation.

Don't deal with this company

I bought a conservatory from this company in 2015. This is the worst mistake I have made in my life. All the tradesmen involved are sub-contractors and IdealHomes take no responsibility for their work, which was shoddy. The builder built three walls, one of which was wider than the other two. The 'tradesman' who installed the conservatory fitted the glass panels upside down so that they didn't match the roof panels. When it rained the roof leaked. Despite many calls to them IdealHomes did nothing.
I paid for a roofer to refit the flashing properly as the IdealHomes man had simply glued it to the wall of my house. I finally paid for a reputable glass company to sort the problem of the leaks. They said that the installation of my conservatory was one of the worst they had ever seen, but they fixed the problem.
Do not deal with this second rate company.

Avoid at all costs!

Avoid this company at all costs! I paid a deposit in November 2018 and was told work would start in Jan 2019 for approximately 3 weeks for a conservatory. It is now November 2019 and the work is still not completed. This company take your deposit and then refuse to do any more work until it is fully paid up front and then their shoddy work is not corrected. Impossible to get a reply either by phone or email, nobody has ever been round to complete a snagging list. I now have paid over £40k for an unsafe construction, the elecrics crackle and fuse when switched on, the roof leak has caused water damage to the new conservatory ceiling which needs fixing but they didn't turn up as arranged again this week, another morning taken off work wasted, and no call or email to explain why they didn't come at the at the arranged time. The laminate floor is cracking every time someone walks on it as the base has not been laid properly. The skirting boards are now coming apart, all in all a total mess. Do not believe the lies the salesman tells you!
Update- march 2020- the federation of master builders have removed this Micky mouse company as members even though their website does not reflect this!
