GWC should be avoided at all costs. Very seriously, they are such a toxic and greedy, completely unhelpful company that you should question the motives of ANY DEALER who would even offer their scam warranty product. My problems with this company have been nonstop since our first engagement, and now at the end of this relationship, they have only gotten worse.
SPECIFICALLY -- when I had a mechanical issue and needed to use their service, they undercut what they should have paid by over 50%. Luckily, I live in CA and am relentless (*NOTE: If you are dealing with these scumbags and live in CA, you at least have a fighting chance. THANK YOU CA!!!!) as they found out and I was able after making numerous calls (around 20 and each would take about an hour on average) to get a good portion of what they were attempting to cheat me out of back into my pocket. However, it still was a few hundred short -- just enough that arbitration cost would have made it about nil and I decided not to pursue it.
This company bent over backwards, practically breaking their spines to avoid their responsiblity.
To wrap it up, unfortunately my car ended up totaled and when it came time to "pay off" the car loan, GWC is REFUSING TO CANCEL the contract. Following the accident, I contacted them, telling them I needed to cancel. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, they said they could not do it and I needed to contact the dealer where I bought my vehicle. It did not make any sense but I did. The dealer shrugged, questioning why GWC would tell me such a stupid lie and told me I needed to contact GWC, so I did. Again, GWC refused and pushed the simple responsibility off onto the dealer and told me the dealer needed to fill out some form. I told them they needed to contact the dealer and give them the form, which seems to make perfect sense to everyone except this den of thieves. They insisted that I give the form to the dealer, so I did. I even eliminated all room for error and filled everything possible out for the dealer to make it easy for them to submit. The dealer submitted the cancellation form as well, which they confirmed in an email inquiry from me a few days later. Meanwhile, my bank ALSO contacted GWC to tell them the car and car loan no longer existed and the warranty should be canceled. I contacted this criminal organization that calls itself GWC Warranty yesterday and of course you know they STILL HAVE NOT CANCELED THE WARRANTY. They deny everything. They haven't received the form from the dealer, etc. And they flat out REFUSE to do their job and contact the dealer-- insisting that I, the customer, remain in the middle acting as a courier, relaying information back and forth.
Yesterday, I let them know I will be taking them to arbitration. It will be worth the cost of starting the arbitration process if i even recover ONE DOLLAR. At this point it is a matter of principle and one I plan to document thoroughly and regularly. I contacted my bank and they are taking action against GWC, the dealer no longer carries their product due to this insane excuse for customer service, and I will be posting this review everywhere possible, contacting the Better Business Bureau and taking every legal step possible to make GWC feel the ramifications of scamming their customers. I suggest EVERYONE out there who has been scammed in any way also post thier own reviews, and please reach out to me if you would be willing to speak on camera for a documentary and telling your story of your own nightmare with this terrible company.

I had to reach out to this warranty company for the replacement of my engine. Firstly, reaching out was no problem when I was speaking to the employees and my dad was present (for reference I am a younger woman).
However, my experience changed throughout the many phone calls I ended up having to make.
It took so long to get anything done, I had to reach out and make sure the warranty company employees were reaching out to the dealership. Anytime I had called it was like I was reminding them to reach out about my car.
I understand some of that responsibility fell on the dealership as well and it is not all to blame on this company.
I would also like to add this whole process was a month long endeavor, forcing me to rely on family/ majorly a rental company to get anywhere i needed to go. Again I know this is all not on the warranty company but everytime I spoke to the dealership they were always waiting "a few days" for yall to reach back out.
I'm sure there are a lot of claims to go through but this was a major inconvenience of just waiting days to reach back out about someone's car.
I ended up spending over a grand on a rental waiting so long for my car.
Another big issue and probably the biggest issue I had was, whenever I was speaking to the male employees without my dad present, I was spoken to as if I was a child and I did not know what I was talking about. However I was more well versed in the situation than my dad was. Some of the employees were very rude and upset that I kept calling back, but I was relying on getting my car back as quickly as possible and anytime I was promised a call back with an update I majorly had to call back because they never called me. But when I called for the update they had the update and just had not called me to let me know anything.
I understand that this is surely a busy company and cannot attend to every single update as soon as it comes in but if the update is sitting for a day or 2 before the customer is updated, I see that as an issue.
I hope this is a helpful review and not a insulting or rude one. I just hope that the warranty company employees do not treat someone as if they don't know as much just because of gender or age.
