#Ellisons #solicitor stated that '#conveyancing takes a very long time, can take months, depending on the council and the searches'. There are numerous legal issues with this statement! lol I just got off the phone with Tendring Council, and they said it would take no more than three days. So here are some of the clues why they say conveyancing, which is simply solicitors filling out forms, takes a long time:
1) My solicitors did not answer my emails for over 17 days - until I told her never to contact me ever again!
2) My solicitor #ignored my suggestion to meet us in person
3) My solicitor ignored my suggestion that I meet her colleagues
4) My solicitor ignored my suggestion that we meet via video-call so she could verify me, but she kept emphasising that she has the final say and may not approve me being verified because she never met me. In the end I realised that she does not want to do her work or to represent me so I emailed her telling her not to ever contact me again!
Finally, this law firm employs a third-party app to link clients' bank accounts with the third party; the law does not require this as part of the verification procedure, and my bank does not allow third-party access, which is not unusual but again the solicitor dismissed me writing to her and telling her my bank does not allow it. If you want the third party to have access to your client's bank account, you should sign a contract stating that if any funds go missing, you would refund them. It's beyond me that someone would let a third party access their account and convince me it's 'beautifully safe' - your bank fraud team will laugh at you and won't refund you any £ss if they go missing because banks don't allow third parties access. When you deceived me about how long searches take, my alarms went off! I noticed a Trustpilot review of one man who claimed that after using this app, he lost £6000! I grabbed a screenshot of the review, and I agree with every single one on this page. Avoid! The law society says that solicitors should not put anyone's case and money at risk and act in their best interests, i realised this was not happening so I ended the business relationship! My time wasted - a total 20 days!
Since writing this review I instructed another law firm 2 weeks later and within 7 days we completed all Ellison's solicitor was unable to do and we are expecting the search results on 29/10/2024 Glad I trusted myself and quit Ellisons -turns out I was right!

This Company seems to take a bullish approach before conversation.
I’ve felt bullied and confused by their emails.
They also lack simple grammar skills.

I visited the Ellisons branch in Head Street Colchester today in order to find out if they could help with a Land Registry 'Transfer of property' that I was undertaking. I explained I needed a Solicitor to complete an identification form for my wife and myself so that the Land Registry could complete my transfer.
We were asked if we were previous clients of Ellisons, when we explained that we were not we were then told they did not deal with our type of request, and we would need to find another solicitor.
Totally unhelpful and I fail to see why they would not deal with such a request as they were a firm of solicitors. We walked less than 100 hundred yards onto North Hill and found another firm of Solicitors, 'Kew Law', who were the complete opposite of Ellsions's. Kew Law were totally helpful from start to finish and dealt with our request within the hour.
We are glad we are not a client of Ellisons and we will certainly NOT be putting any business their way. We will go to Kew Law for all our needs as they are a 5 star, caring, friendly firm of Solicitors.

I emailed this business via the 'reviewsolicitors' website - this solicitor was top rated of all in Chelmsford.
My question was simple, regarding sire access via my land and i expected, after initial communication to have a (paid) face to face meeting with them.
I also requested a call back that day just in case they have missed the email and that they can respond via their preferred method.
Three weeks later i have received no response whatsover.

From the initial consultation to the completion of the work on our Wills and LPA’s we were kept informed through the whole process. The team took great pains in the initial video consultation to ensure that we understood exactly what the legalities and our responsibilities are. The whole process was handled most professionally and the degree of legal knowledge and the ability to make everything clear and understandable made the experience most positive. We would highly recommend Ellisons.

Paid £1800 for a loan agreement contract and told it was water tight. Only for Graeme to constantly charge thousands more in fees and collecting almost the same amount? Roughly £1000 out of £20,000 and when it came to going to court which was never an option before never explained so he jumped ship. So after 6-8k in extra payments and me now hugely out of pocket. He decided to ditch me and leave me high and dry thousands out of pocket. While Graham made a tidy 8-10k for writing a contract and did nothing else, and when he realised he may not make much more as I refused. What was the point of the legally binding agreement to then do nothing about it? Genuinely better off throwing it down the drain. Thanks Graeme. Basically took me for a ride then left when it came to actually doing something. As we all know solicitors are expensive but usually for a reason. He made thousands and I lost thousands and he showed the whole thing to be as useful as a dead badger. At least they don’t charge thousand for nothing. Outdone by a dead badger. Spineless weasel

Ellisons have been excellent to work with. Responses have been prompt and thorough and I would recommend them to anyone looking for legal advice.

These guys made a complete mess of my mum's probate claim We ended up having to get outside advice as their figures were so contradictory. Though Ellisons admitted they'd made a mistake they didn't offer any meaningful discount.

my solicitor wanted me to pay a barrister and her £1750 for a phone call to a judge when i said that was a lot of money for a phone call the solicitor said ok and the said it would cost a £1000 for a 5minute phone call and when i ask my solicitor do i need a barrister and her on the phone so a judge can talk to me she said no so why did they try and charge me all that money then this company will not give you good legal advice and try and rip you off

The correspondence I've encountered with this firm and its solicitors is quite unprofessional and lacking in ethics. It looks like bullying tactics to me with aggressive and deliberately offensive language used, and abuse of power playing on people's ignorance of the law. The solicitors mark it private and confidential, but legally it isn't! But want you to think that you can't disclose it to others for advice or guidance. I believe you are breaching the Solictors Regulation Authority.
Not the sort of solicitors that I would want to hire or work with.

So I found the supposed #2/3 immigration solicitor in my area... Got told in our first meeting lasting nearly 2 hours that I should do what I felt was right absolutely no legal advice at all! Shortly after sub 1 month ended up being deported. Attempted to contact Sohan Sidhu at least six different times every time I received an automated email reply he was on holiday out of the country and to contact Tracy. She replied via email and stated she cannot comment or aid at all and I needed to wait for him to return... a week later get a reply saying do what I feel is the best course of action for my situation AGAIN 0 legal advice. After being separated from my family for multiple months my VISA finally is approved, I contact Sohan Sidhu again and yet again get another reply to contact Tracy... This is clearly a pattern now, so I clearly explain that my visa is approved that I clearly do not need their services (None actually given to begin with) and request the remainder of my £750 retainer be returned to me... Now to be perfectly clear I did not get my retainer back instead I got a bill for £200 stating those nine emails, our initial meeting, and nine reply emails (AUTOMATED mind you) is valued at £1000 at least according to this solicitors office... I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone even talk to these people since they feel that each automated email response is worth a minimum of roughly £30 each at least according to the bill I received £1000 = conversation for 1 hour 42 minutes @£250 per hour, and 18 total emails doing the math that makes each email £30 per automatic reply... AVOID THEM LIKE PLAGUE AND CORONA combined.
