I had the worst experience ever with…
I had the worst experience ever with DPD Rent A Car. Do not rent from them under any circumstances.
I reserved a 7-seater Opel Zafira on February 7, 2024, for a trip scheduled on July 7, 2024. My reservation was confirmed via email, and I communicated with the company multiple times during this period to ensure everything was in order.
Two days before our arrival, I received a message from DPD Rent A Car informing me that the Opel Zafira I had reserved was not available because the previous client extended their rental. They offered me an Opel Astra instead. This was unacceptable as we are a group of four people with eight suitcases, and we specifically needed a 7-seater for the space.
The representative tried to convince me that the Opel Astra would be sufficient, but I knew it wouldn’t be. I suggested they offer the smaller car to the previous client, but I was then told the Zafira was out of the country, which contradicted their policy that rentals cannot leave the country—a policy they had previously communicated to me via email.
I spoke with George at DPD Rent, explaining my situation and expressing my frustration. He assured me they would contact me with a resolution, but I never heard back. I reached out again on July 6, 2024, at 13:06, only to receive the same response: the Zafira was unavailable, and the only option was the Opel Astra. According to their rental rules, customers who extend their rental take priority, and they claimed they had no other 7-seaters available.
In short, DPD Rent A Car left me stranded without a suitable vehicle just two days before my trip. Their handling of the situation was unprofessional and unacceptable. Avoid renting from DPD Rent A Car at all costs.

Bad experience.
Bad experience.
Car obviously not the same as the one booked, ( GOLF - And the car delivered was ASTRA , very old ) full of bumps, in bad condition, with 99500 kilometers, wheels that halfway through the trip were flat and we had to go to the mechanic.
Afterwards, problems with the invoice and to finish the great experience they charge you 10 euros in terms of car wash on delivery.
Daily price exactly the same as companies where the car is new, there is no saving, on the contrary, in my case, it affected the safety of my family.
Avoid this company.

Bad exerience
We had to rent a car last minute during the busy season in August 2022. After contacting a few car rental agencies, I finally got a response from DPDrent.ro, this guy Stefan. I signed up for an Opel, and as we get to the place, they were driving the Opel around because something was wrong with it. When I saw the car, it was all dented and old, so I told my wife we should leave. So when they saw we wanted to leave, they "called the boss", the guy actually pretended to be on the phone with someone, but was not (yes, they are that shady), to see if the "boss" agrees to give us the "premium" car, Audi. So even though we were hesitant, we decided to go with the white Audi A4. The car was a 2012 model or so, inside there was cigarette smell, the tires were so worn out, they were literally smooth, no threads. One day I was driving and there was water on the road, I aquaplaned for more than 25 meters, it was so scary, I'm lucky I didn't crash. Also, when you pick up the car, they have this gas policy "empty to empty", so the car was so low on gas, we barely made it to the gas station. (all solid companies have a "full to full" policy, which makes much more sense, because that way you only pay for what you use).
Ok, so we finally got gas, we had to drive through Bucuresti to pick up our luggage from my cousin. We barely made it 1 km away from the rental place, the Audi starts beeping so loud, and there was a prompt in the instrument cluster "oil pressure low, turn engine off!". This alarm would go off every 20 seconds. Imagine driving like that through the busy Bucuresti traffic, it was horrible. We called Stefan, he said "oh, just ignore the alarm". Unbelievable right? We said we want our money back, then he got angry and started yelling at my wife who was on the phone with him while I was driving. And he basically said if we bring it back, we will still get charged premium price, so basically it was worth more to keep the car for the month than to return it and lose half of the money we paid. They offered to change the car with an Opel, so when I went to switch the cars, it was the same dented Opel, smelled like cigarettes, it was worse than the Audi. So I decided to keep the Audi.
So we drove for a couple of weeks like this, then one day it rained, and as I was driving, water went under the car and the steering broke. I called and he said it's because Audis have the steering sensor or fuse under the car, and wanted me to go take it to a shop and have them fix it, because we were in a different city which was like 5 hours away from Bucuresti. I wasted a whole afternoon going to auto shops, no one could help me. Again, more alarms going off in the car, non stop. Now because the servo direction was broken, it was practically impossible to do parallel parking, because the steering wheel was so hard to turn. So we drove like this for the last week of our trip, and then when we returned, after all the trouble we went through, Stefan had the audacity to say that he wants to charge us for not cleaning the car!! Unbelievable. We said no way, we're not paying, and he got all aggressive and threatened me with violence. Little did he know I boxed for years and could have dropped him to the floor in a few seconds, but that's another story, we just walked away and promised to write a review about our bad experience with them, so others don't have to go through it.
So do yourself a favor, and don't rent from these guys. It will ruin your trip.

Bad experience and service
Bad experience and service. Even though they request a small deposit comparing to the market, the cars are very bad.
We rent a car in Bucharest and they delivered it to my address. The next day our trip started and it turned out in a bad experience overall. The car had mechanical issues with the gear and the wheels. We could not go faster than 100 km/h because the car was shaking very hard.
I was really afraid for our lives. When we explained that they said that this is normal and asked us to complain to local authorities.
