Great customer service

Dealt with Valerie and Leandro from the Wendover office. Wonderfully efficient, polite and helpful. Exemplary customer service. Thank you to both of them.

Great service.

I'm not into writing reviews but in this instance I felt compelled. I received such amazing service from dc&kaye (Nick hallchurch) he listened to my case and advised me with information/legal rights that I couldn't have found without him and advise me on my strongest position in terms of my pursuit for justice. 5 stars
Thank you Nick

Do not use D C kaye & Co solicitors in Amersham, especially Nick Hallchurch. We have dreadful neighbours who have sent us letters via Mr Hallchurch. The letters are unprofessional and full of grammatical and language errors. They make all kinds of baseless accusations, suggest they want money from us and demand a public statement is made. I have never seen a solicitors letter like it. I thought my neighbours had written it themselves but I've had an email from Nick Hallchurch to confirm it's from him so I can only deduce that D C Kaye & Co are terrible solicitors. I would be utterly horrified if the solicitor we have now instructed wrote something so bad for me.

Matt P from the prestwood office was amazing throughout the whole process of our house sale and purchase. He always went the extra mile and in quite challenging circumstances throughout covid. Thank you for all your hard work. Highly recommend.

Choose another solicitor!

Terrible for months and months…until I wrote a letter of complaint. My flat purchase, which began, beginning of May 2021 was passed back and forth between members of staff, one who left and I knew nothing until I called to find out why I hadn’t heard back from anyone for weeks. Complaint letter dealt with poorly - not convinced it was the partners who responded, a month later. Dragged their feet sending documents to other solicitors, didn’t check documents properly so errors were made (valuation report). Sejal took over once I’d complained in November, and I finally moved in at the end of January 2022, she did a good job but I don’t think anyone would’ve given a monkey’s if I hadn’t complained. I would’ve taken my case to the Ombudsman, but the stress of my purchase was a lot to deal with. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I just lacked confidence.

Polite and caring people and am sure with appropriate legal knowledge dealing with my divorce. I was continually approached for ‘what we do next’ when initial, strategic direction was clear. Grammatical errors in letters and lacking attention to detail left me disappointed and lacking in confidence after a period of time. Looked after myself eventually.

Very poor service from this company

Very poor service from this company. In the summer of 2017 I entrusted them to deal with the sale of my house, the purchase of my parents' house and sale/purchase of my parents' new retirement home. No mortgages, surveys or searches involved - just a straightforward and simple closed chain of transactions. I wanted things dealt with quickly, as my parents were keen to move, however DC Kaye seemed incapable of understanding my simple requirements. They caused a two week delay at the beginning of the process because they forgot to send the initial engagement agreement, then upset my father with their intransigence and caused endless delays with misunderstandings due to two separate branches of DC Kaye dealing with my business (the so-called 'Chinese wall'). They frequently failed to reply to phone calls and emails, and were generally incompetent. English language also seems to be an issue with them, as many of their communications with me were littered with spelling and grammatical errors. They are very arrogant, and seem to think they can take as long as they like to conduct matters. I actually got a lecture over the phone from a member of their staff informing me that "as you have a mortgage, matters will take longer to conclude"! I had already told this person several times that there were no mortgages involved. Idiot. He was both aggressive and rude. He later asked me, as the chain was simple, why I hadn't just paid my parents the money and done the land registry paperwork myself! My response was that I engaged solicitors because I WANTED THINGS DONE PROPERLY!!! When I complained to them (they seem to have no written complaints procedure), they just ignored my protests and insisted they had done everything properly.

I even spoke to Donald Kaye himself (founder of the company), and told him my concerns, but he seemed a bit detached from the company and happy to let the 'lunatics run the asylum'! I paid nearly £4000 in fees to this company, receiving no discount for multiple transactions - they just ripped me off mercilessly. I was ready to make a complaint to the Law Society, but luckily for them I had too much to contend with moving etc to follow this up. It tells a lot that I am still furious with them six months on. Thankfully, I have now moved away from Buckinghamshire, and hopefully will never have to suffer this company again.

Oh and, by the way DC Kaye, if you want to try and sue me for libel over this review, then think again - everything I have written here is TRUE and is VERY WELL DOCUMENTED!
