Bought and sold a car over Christmas time from Phil at Haytons. It took about a week from start to finish a very painless experience. Highly recommend Haytons.

Purchased a Mazda MX30 EV
Purchased a Mazda MX30 EV. Demonstrator less than 300 miles on the clock. Being involved in sales for most of my business life, I can be wary of salesmen. However I could not have been more impresses with the friendly professional service we received from Ian, including him taking a 30 mile round trip to ensure that the wide opening doors would not cause us a parking problem. Happy with the deal
NOTE to self, keep away from car showrooms it costs you money

Just bought a secondhand Mazda MX-5…
Just bought a secondhand Mazda MX-5 from Ben at Southport branch. I've used the dealer previously with two Mazda company cars, a 6 estate and a CX-5. The dealer was great servicing them, and Ben dealt with our purchase professionally and with the minimum of fuss. I'll seriously consider using them again and would recommend them to anyone, unless, of course, something happens to make me change my mind, but I'm sure I won't.

Recently bought my third car from this…
Recently bought my third car from this company however after seven weeks the gear selector failed on the car although I have a warranty it is not covered for this particular item! Indeed what I looked at the warranty there is virtually nothing is covered by it not worth the paper it is written on! And now it is going to cost me over 300 pounds for the repairs I contacted the company no sympathy whatsoever the chap on the phone was a trainee and didn't have a clue what was going on! sometime ago I bought my daughter a Audi from this company and the manager I found was very helpful however on this occasion unfortunately they couldn't care less! I wasn't even informed although it was only a few weeks previous that the Lancaster garage was closing down! Well thanks very much for telling me! No I'm afraid I will give this company a big miss. As usual like most car dealers once you have bought the item they couldn't care less what happens to you and your vehicle. As previously stated I have bought three vehicles in the past from this company and this is the way they treat their loyal customers! I will never buy a car off you again after the way I was treated on the phone no apologies nothing! And in future any opportunity I get I will inform people not to bother purchasing anything from yourselves.

First class service.
Would highly recommend David Hayton Carlisle when choosing and buying a new car. There was no pressure to buy and I was given helpful advice from Justin about the size and style of car which suited me best. Ryan made the handover extremely stress-free and he explained everything in a patient, professional and reassuring way. Excellent.

Excellent friendly dealership
Bought a used Mazda 3 from their Southport branch. Car I bought is spotless…not a mark on the bodywork and it was valeted to showroom condition. The salesperson Phil was friendly and helpful and the purchase/exchange was efficient. Would not hesitate to buy from this dealership again

Poor customer service from David Haytons…
I’m experiencing very poor customer service from David Haytons. I Purchased a car from David Haytons Carlisle and the vehicle was twice in for the same fault during the warranty period, they claimed to have fixed it both times.
The car again has the same symptoms but it is just out of the warranty period and David Hayton will take zero responsibility for any repairs that are needed.
I paid for diagnostic testing through Lloyds mini that has highlighted the same fault codes as the original failures but David Hayton won’t accept this report because it is not independent and they refuse to test it themselves unless I pay the cost.
The senior complaints handler is very difficult to deal with and will not answer simple questions.
I would recommend not purchasing any vehicle from David Haytons and wish I had read some of the other messages on trustpilot before I purchased this vehicle because others have had very similar experiences.
Poor standard of workmanship by the service department at David Hayton Penrith and poor Customer service.

Courteous and professional service from Southport
Courteous and professional service from David Hayton's Southport branch. Particular thanks to Jack who literally went that extra mile (or several) to ensure he found the car we wanted. Very pleased with the service and love our 2019 Mazda.

David Hayton Southport are excellent for service and MOT work on any vehicle
David Hayton Southport were very responsive and professional when I needed my 3 year old Dacia (purchased second hand from Arnold Clark less than a year ago) serviced and MOTd. Having failed miserably to get the attention of the latter, I decided to use a local Mazda dealer to do the work. Not only did they advise about where I would need warranty work done, they offered to service and MOT the vehicle at a very competitive price. The work was quickly booked in and I was given a reminder the day before. The work completed was excellent and all of the work done explained to me prior to payment. They refitted a loose door seal for free and washed the car as well. The staff are friendly, competent, efficient and give you the feeling that you want to go back. I have had this experience previously with a Peugeot 107 I owned so this isn't a one off experience. If only other service organisations could be as good as David Hayton Southport - well done!!

Mini Cooper s 2014 David Hayton Lancaster
I bought a Mini Cooper s 2014 in November 2022 from David Hayton Autostore Lancaster, the car looked good and I was keen to buy as everything seemed genuine, the car had a tyre pressure warning when test driving and was told it would be fixed when buying, the car I picked up still has issues with tyre pressure as they have avoided paying and fitting a new tyre and alloy as that is what’s causing the pressure loss, also sold with no parcel shelf so car is incomplete, AVOID THIS DEALER BOTH MORECAMBE BRANCH AND ALL OTHER DAVID HAYTON AUTOSTORE LOCATIONS

Dishonest and the worst customer service ever experienced
Bought car end of June 21 from David haytons at Penrith - Peugeot 2008 - £ 8500 - sold as pristine on video for car. Told it would be best it could be ( and I believed them ) 🤦♀️
Picked up 27 June immediately had issues with computer screen not working. They just said it was the heat and turn air con on as common issue.
( our local Peugeot updated it out of courtesy as it had not been updated ) and said it should have been checked.
Clutch was so creaky it made car unserviceable and Had a rip in seat .
We took it back and they glued seat ( temp repair ) and said clutch was sorted .
Immediately the same noise when using the clutch on driving so took to local Peugeot dealership who verified there was a fault along with evident service issues when they did health check which clearly hadnt been done. Came with 2 stamps in book ( one with a few weeks of getting car) and a full mot with no advisories.
David hayton at Penrith declined to offer any resolution even when verified by Peugeot dealership.
Customs service manager was awful and treated us like we was in the wrong and making it up. Even with evidence in hand . She seemed to take pride in causing the upset and just disregarded everything as wear n tear. Said noise was normal 🤦♀️
Requested to return the car within 30 days as they wouldn’t do any repair. Guess what no response from request.
Just sent complaints process which was wrong address until I complained officially via Peugeot and she then sent correct address claiming it was a mistake ( sadly will need to pursue complaint at great time upset and personal expense just to try to get costs of repairs re embursed on a car that was faulty from day of purchase )
It’s been the worst experience of buying a car we have ever had and they should hang their heads in shame at the customer service desk. It could all of easily be resolved by repairing the faulty clutch . Hey ho lots of bad reviews coming your way 🤷♀️

Do yourself a favour and DONT buy from David Hayton!
I have previously used this garage as have my family - all without issue. However that was back when it was a genuine family run establishment - it’s now too big for its boots and I would rather recommend Arnold Clark (who I absolutely detest as do many many others!) - the Hayton Group really are THAT appalling! Customer service here doesn’t exist. Nobody gives one toss when they have your money - and sadly I paid in full in cash! Bought a Mercedes that I was lied to about the spec. So I refused to take it. Told I couldn’t have my deposit back (I think you’ll find I can under the consumer rights act 2015!). Agreed to give The salesman at Carlisle a second chance - wish I hadn’t bothered as then they bumped the Audi I purchased before collection and just said nothing. Initially wouldn’t take responsibility until I proved it was damaged on collection...then they agreed to sort it. Except they didn’t! The damaged alloy wasn’t repaired just “improved”! Managers refuse to speak to you; the staff are discourteous and then upon collection the car was filthy inside and out (in a covid pandemic! Appalling!). They’d driven it to Penrith and back - which is apparently now 51 miles from Carlisle.......really?!! And then hadn’t even refuelled it. And to add insult to injury the alloy wheel was still damaged (they’d buffed it up and basically filed out the original damage which made the wheel look even worse on a diamond cut alloy! Fabulous job - not! But apparently that’s “acceptable” - sadly not when it’s not as it was when it was purchased!). Oh and now the window and door are scratched which is also apparently fine. Absolutely disgusted that the director of the company has point blankly refused to speak to me! The issue is currently sat with my lawyers whilst the car is still sat covered in filth at haytons. Do yourselves a favour and AVOID!

DAVID HAYTON MAZDA SOUTHPORT
Went to David Hayton Mazda Southport to carry out warranty work on my 17 month old Mazda Mx5rf bought from new. Water was getting into car from somewhere. They rang me to say they wouldnt do the work as the drivers seat had possibly been out??? They made this assumption on basis of a bolt under seat was slightly rough??? They also said 2 plastic caps had popped off from fabric panel at back of seat??? How this effected water getting into car, no idea! They said they wouldnt do under warranty, but it would be £130 an hour labour for them to do it! I was fuming! I bought the car new, under warranty, only been to Mazda dealer for a service previously. I think they must have done this as they didnt want to be bothered with work. It was only when I got home and calmed down I knew they were lying. I had previously hoovered car and the plastic caps would have been sucked up if loose on floor. I had also mopped out water from cabin floor and no loose caps then. They are a disgrace and not to be trusted. I wouldnt go there again. If you bought a new house and roof was leaking and builder said not my issue there is a bolt that is a bit rough on the front door so its your problem. Same scenario. Dont go there if you dont want to be taken a ride .

Would not recommend
Took my Mazda 6 to the Carlisle dealership to have recall work carried out. Fitted new brake callipers and didn’t tighten the brake lines into the calliper so it was leaking brake fluid. Luckily the car was booked into an independent garage for a service and MOT the next day and he spotted it and repaired it for free. Informed David Hayton Mazda of their mistake and was told that the service manager would contact me. Still waiting.......
Poor standard of workmanship and customer service - although the receptionist was very apologetic.
