Terrible TeamSpeak server uptime, constant disconnects

I paid for one year Team Speak 3 with DarkStar, 25 slots. The first 2 months there were no problems, then gradually the TeamSpeak caused disconnects more and more frequently. After 6 months, it was virtually impossible to rely on. I don't need my guild getting disconnects 3 times per hour, or being unable to access the server for days on end. I sent in tickets and was told to follow a procedure to check ping at regular intervals and then submit that to them, I did so and they told me nothing was wrong. All they did was supposedly reset the server- which solved nothing. Obviously something is wrong for it to be disconnecting SO frequently. Terrible servers, I would never buy again. Support is not rude but not helpful either.

fake publicity on their website

i took a server by clicking GAME SERVERS 3 DAYS RISK FREE TRIAL as advertised on their website. after 2 days , i decided to not keep the server and asked them to refund because i cant manage the server since i dont understand how to do it. they told me ``You might be confusing the 3 day refund with the free trial servers we offer. We don't have a 3 day refund policy. Our refund policy is outlined in our terms of service and is only provided in the event that there is an issue with our service that we are unable to resolve with in 5 days of being informed of it.`` there was no asterix or note next to the 3 days risk free trial or anything telling me that what i was ordering did not have the 3 days risk free option like it said. it was written clearly 3 DAYS RISK FREE TRIAL on the button for ordering the server. now they dont want to refund. i would never do any business with this company again. i filed a complaint to paypal.

Terrible Billing practices

I received an email stating that I owed for services past due. I responded to the email stating that I had understood my services to be canceled as I terminated my automatic payment method long ago. I was told that was not sufficient and that the account remained open. They sent me a bill for three months of a service that I had thought was canceled and I did not want. They NEVER sent a single message to let me know of the first or the second failed charge. On the 3rd failed charge, they finally let me know that my account was still open and being billed. They expect me to pay for all 3 months at $9.99 each.

I was told by Customer service rep Mitch Chapman: "to get your account canceled you will need to pay at least 1 of the past due invoices and update this ticket after doing so and I can cancel your services." I paid for 1 month as I was told if I did so they would be able to cancel the account. They didn't cancel it after my payment. They stated that someone had used the server and they accused me of trying to get the service for free. I explained that I cannot control if outside users log into the server and I would have no knowledge of their activity as MANY people have the server information (as is the nature of voice chat servers). The company failed to notify me of any billing cycles until after the 3rd payment failed. They should have sent an email after each transaction to notify me whether the payment went through or failed. They should have also shut down the service immediately following the FIRST failed payment. They failed to take these basic reasonable actions and failed to communicate the status of my account to me until after 3 failed payments. The remaining balance that should be cleared is for 2 months at $9.99 ($19.98). They basically try to trick you into paying a small fee for services that you didn't even ask for.

Pathetic Service & Support

Since Darkstar acquired Ventrilo, all of the settings on my server were changed and nothing works anymore. Darkstar support has given cryptic responses to my request for assistance and told me to read their forums to find answers. Their support is useless. I have had my Ventrilo server running for years with no problems. Darkstar deleted my admin passwords, altered my user lists and setup to where they are useless and provided no help in trying to get it fixed other than to set up a test user name with no explaination as to how to use it or if its for admin or users. I am disgusted with Darkstar and would not recommend them to anyone!

DarkStar is a wonderful company to work with!

I have had DarkStar for nearly six months now, for two different services. The first service we had for two months to use for our World of Warcraft guild. The vent server never went down, and the only time we needed to contact customer service was to get it upgraded, and again to cancel. Both times it was a breeze! Since then we have also had a TF2 Game Server, which we have been using since May with no issues whatsoever (minus the ones that Steam created with patches). I really cannot recommend DarkStar enough!

Awesome.

By far the best Ventrilo hosting company in the industry. My only complaint is that their control panel is a bit heavy on the graphical side, but everything works, and works well. I've contacted their support at all hours of the night and gotten pretty consistently quickly replies. Would definitely recommend.
