Front office and management sucks

Front office and management sucks. Overall concern is collecting your cash and "covering their A's". Power struggles between staff and patient care providers as to which patient is who and what is going to be done. Great work on wrong patient. Names and identities very hesitantly disclosed and conflicting information. Don't leave the office without your treatment plan or come back without or have another issue and call for a walk in visit because you may have your DDS or someone filling address the wrong issue first or perform something that doesn't have to do with your treatment plan or what you came in for. Quess what happens then no record, no bill. Or your insurance may be double billed because an accountant or biller at another office takes control and you may have over $1000 in dental service credit. And it's all your fault despite identifying yourself and what you're there for, or if you should leave your treatment plan home and are not sure specifically where your dentist left off in your dental work. Don't leave without your bill and make sure you ask if you're covered for each visit before you go in check with your insurance because even when you ask it's an afforded courtesy not a service. Your Dentist may not know you by your next appointment. No more written records, it's all in the computer system and sent to the main office somewhere.

Cannot believe these bad reviews…

Cannot believe these bad reviews because I go to coast dental practice in Portsmouth and they are the best. The receptionist are all so lovely and put you at ease and go above and beyond to help with any issue. My dentist Terrianne is a delight. Explains everything and gives great advice. Always gentle and friendly. I actually enjoy going to the dentist now.
Looking back on all the bad reviews I have only just noticed they are all American. My review is for Coast dentist in Portsmouth England so I’m now confused as to if this can be the same company.
If you are looking for English reviews please check where review is from first.

This dentist/ office is only in the…

This dentist/ office is only in the arena to make money. They try and upsell every procedure they offer. Had a partial made and it broke in a day. Took 1 week to get it fixed. Not eating for a week. THANKS!!
My partial broke recently and I’m trying to see the “dentist” not a doctor, and I have to wait a week before he would even see me. Not eating out going in public for a week!
Obviously only in it for the money!!!!!!

This many bad reviews tell the story

Do not ignore all these horrible reviews. Let our experiences help guide you away from this untrustworthy dental franchise. My experience was with the South Pasadena (St. Pete) office. They are scammers. I feel for all the clients they are currently ripping off. Run!

I would give it a Triple negative star…

I would give it a Triple negative star but to leave a comment I must give it at least a one star to review. I had a cleaning at this establishment by Tech Gina, I decided to check my claims on my Health Insurance and noticed that the claim was half denied so I started digging into it to find that Coast Dental added a partial cleaning to my claim which was never done. I decided to reach out to my Insurance where we did a 3-way call to find out why they had charged for a service I did not get. The so-called Office Manager within a few minutes of the call put us on a 2-second hold and came back and said that Gina said "Yes we did the service" Not true days later I received a letter(A bill) claiming that I owed the money. Today, June 26, 2024, I went into the office and spoke with the receptionist DeShonda who went back to ask Gina about the service in question she said that Gina said they were supposed to have taken that off my service because she did not do that. Finally, the rude office manager came back from lunch and within 30 seconds started to speak loudly you owe that bill I said no I do not your receptionist had asked her Tech Gina and she told her no she did not do that service. She kept waving her hand unprofessional saying bye every time I would tell her something. I finally, said I would appeal the charges and her response was we will drop you as a patient, all she had to do the rude office manager was to bring Tech Gina to the front office and ask her in front of me so I could hear her say it from her mouth that she did or didn't do the services that I am being charged for but she just refused to do so. I feel they are charging Medicare for services that were not rendered. I will also be calling them regarding this matter. I was not the only one there with a billing issue another patient was there also wanting answers to a bill. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone stay far away from it Shadiest Billing Dept. I will also be reporting this to BBB. This location is the one in Gateway/MLK. ST. Peterburg, Florida

Coast Dental is the WORST

Have been a patient of Coast Dental New Smyrna. It is the absolute WORST service. They have canceled my appointments on short notice on regular basis. Only to offer a reschedule months down the road. When ask for an explanation, you get a shrug. Uncaring and unprofessional. Looking for a new provider.

Dishonest Dental

In a word - Dishonest! The dental tech was Amany. She said I had 6 & 7 mm pockets! I have never had anything like that in my life. There was no dentist on staff so I did a tele-conference. Its 2024, no covid, and they dont have an actual dentist. The video dentist recommended planing and scaling (over $500 out of pocket) The office manager, Stacy said "I could not get a cleaning" so I got a second opinion. Sure enough, Coast was trying to scam me. My new dentist said she "could not find a pocket over 4mm". Coast Dental is dishonest and greedy. I would give ZERO STARS if it were possible. I wish I had read the reviews. You can only blame yourself now that you have read mine.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

After telling the scheduler I was pregnant amd finally getting in the office I put on intake paperwork I am pregnant and I was REFUSED to be examined or even write me a prescription for antibiotics! I have had dental work in previous pregnancies and never had an issue then after crying telling the dentist I was in pain and I had been waiting for this appointment for almost a month! I told them I was pregnant in the office and after verifying my insurance and getting paid for the visit I was turned away without ANY help.

The most horrible ridiculous…

The most horrible ridiculous unprofessional place ever. The office manager is even worse!! Don’t patronize this horrible office in Saint Petersburg, Florida. First two appointments canceled by the office next appointment stating I have to pay out of pocket n only get a partial cleaning. I’m more than pissed I always try to be professional but this definitely was an exception!!

There billing department is the worst…

There billing department is the worst in the world. In Lake Mary, Fl. they want Bill insurance correctly, there corporate and local collections voice mail is full. There messing up people credit because there mistakes. They want pick up phone or take a 3 way call from insurance because they don't have staff. These people are taking advantage of Medicare recipients.

FEP-BCBS

My insurance company, Blue Cross FEP Dental referred me to Coast Dental at 1435-A SE 8th Ave Cape Coral, FL 33990, I therefore scheduled an appointment, seeing I was in pain with a tooth related issue.
After check-in I had to fill out a 12-page document, a document that I was told was to be emailed before the visit. (#1), it was NOT.
Luckly, I arrived 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment. During my visit, and after filling out their forms, they approached me to refill out the previous forms because they invertedly shredded the documents That I filled our just twenty minutes earlier.
During my exam I was given two options for corrective action, and to my surprise, they stated “my insurance would cover nothing”.
I was astounded as to their position, and what was being stated to me. I was in excruciating pain, and no concern for them. It was apparent it was all about money, which I was willing to pay, my only request was to solicit my insurance company.
I asked if they would reconfirm what they stated? I was told, they “Coast Dental” would call me the next day and advise me of any change in insurance payment, they never did, and it’s now a week and I’m still in pain and NO action from either BCBS or Coast Dental.
Keep in mind I pay $125.00 a month for dental insurance and Coast Dental is stating that they basically will not accept it.
I will say other dental offices do not like the billing practices under FEP Blue Cross. BCBS and has been a problem with other dental offices in the past as well, but as a retired governmental worker BCBS is my only option for healthcare.
My Insurance FEP BCBC has been trying to reach out to Coast Dental Cape Coral, and they will not respond to either of them, or myself.
They quoted me $3,000.00 and my two insurance companies would pay $00.00, WHICH I KNEW WAS NOT CORRECT. At that point I realized it was a moot issue, and I was not going to argue, I left their facility. When I went home, I contacted Blue Cross, and was told 55% of their costs would be paid.
This sucks and I will amend your action (s).
• I did not pay into insurance for 50 years to say no benefits.
• We do have issues in health care. I was also told by the dental office they would contact me with the next day (seeing I was in a pain scale of 8) and advise how to proceed. I’m not able to extract a tooth for 3k, I’ll pull it with a pair of pliers. Is this what we do in Florida? This treatment is totally unfounded. Plus, I am still waiting for a call from Costal Denta, BCBS has too, called them (4) times and they refuse to call them back as well. I highly do NOT recommend Coast Dental.

“BUYER BEWARE!” Cape Coral Office coast dental

“BUYER BEWARE!” With the amount of 1-star reviews especially on Yelp 99% to be exact! Shame on us for not doing our homework. Depending on how this goes with getting our money back maybe Dave Alias from NBC2 should pay for this office in Cape Coral, a visit. He has helped me in the past, Or maybe a video on my social media platform (3 million monthly views) on what this office is doing to people it's 100% unacceptable, and it's stealing from customers. Complete scam! No one should pay 4k for two people to get a cleaning!!!!! I will do whatever it takes to get our money back from these crooked crooks! With the amount of poor 1-star reviews for this company, they need to be investigated, or at least the Cape Coral location where a lot of the issues are happening. I will be reporting to the BBB next and contacting my attorney for appropriate actions on how to stop this type of fraud.

Fraudulent practices in this office

Fraudulent practices in this office! I was taken advantage of, lied to and then made to look like I am the stupid one.
My first appointment to go in and take xrays and discuss my treatment plan was suddenly rushed into a deep cleaning. I couldn't afford the deep cleaning so they told me I needed a loan.
They then tell me if I take the loan it will cover this deep cleaning and my next two cleanings, the fourth one I would have to come out of pocket a little. Which is fine. I also just finished cancer treatment so during that time I couldn't get cleanings and thought that maybe I did need this cleaning. They seemed so friendly and as if they were definitely trying to help you. I can't believe I fell for it.
Well then I go in for my second appointment (which should be my first free one because I paid already) they get me in the chair and tell me that I owe more money. I explain the loan situation and they say no that is not how it works. So I asked for the lady who originally explained the loan to me. I told her what was going on and she literally looked me in the eyes and said I never said that. I would never say something like that to you.
Oh and on top of all that. I waited an extra two weeks for an appointment so I could specifically see the dentist. You know how I saw a dentist? Through a teleconference!!!! The dentist never even looked in my mouth!

I now after the fact go on to google and yelp and look up reviews and I see this has happened to many of us. I am filing reports with the loan company, with Coast Dental Corporate offices. It is a sham this place. I am shocked with this many poor reviews that they still do business.

Read Reviews Before Making A Serious Decision

Reading the Reviews upon googling Coast Dental opened by eyes. The sad part, I did it after my experience and not before. Jan. 4, 2023, while still under warranty I learned my dental bridge was cracked through and needed to be replaced before any damage was done to my existing teeth.

The story behind this dental bridge needs to be told.
I broke my tooth and went to Coast Dental in North Ft. Myers, Fl. I entered the office at 8:45 AM and left and 6:45 PM that evening. I was told I had no other option but to have the broken tooth pulled, and a 4 tooth bridge made. I had no time to make an informed consent or discuss this with my husband privately. I was very upset and vulnerable and felt a lot of pressure to sign permission.

It was after I signed permission that I was told a good tooth had to be removed, it was the only way to deal with my situation.

I was given medicine and could not leave. It was a horrible experience. I went through surgical procedures in an uncomfortable environment for 10 hours straight with no food and little water and very few bathroom breaks.

When the doctor finished I was not allowed to leave until I paid my bill in full. $7,007.20 which I put on a charge card. There was another bill that same evening for $164.00. charged to my card that I never knew about it until it was on my card. I still have no idea what it was for.

Shortly after I left that evening I had a serious nose bleed from a sinus perforation I suffered during the surgery. This resulted in a bad infection with high fever, medical bills and months of recuperation.

During this time I was fortunate to obtain all my dental x-rays, dental notes for medical assistance. I kept copies. More than a year later the Dentist was able to insert my bridge on 5/26/2020.

I have a warranty on this bridge that is still good. I am very careful with my teeth and have regular checkups. Two weeks ago I had to call my dentist because the bridge did not feel right. He saw me right away and said it had a crack through and needed to be replaced. It is not an easy procedure. When I told him what I went through and a good tooth was pulled he was shocked and told me "You never pull a good tooth," and you did have options. He has all my records and is willing to write a document in my defense.

I called Coast Corporate first, three times and each time I was told that someone from Corporate would call me. They acknowledged they have all my information. I was told I did not have to speak to the Office which performed this service. I told them if I don't hear I will file a complaint with the Florida Board of Dentistry. No one from Coast Corporate called me.

I want a full return of my $7,007. 20 plus $164.00 This is very generous considering the medical bills and personal suffering from this surgery and the expense now needed to fix my situation. This is my story with Coast Dental and I hope no one ever has my experience.

I would give you 0 stars if I could!

I went to Coast Dental in Kissimmee,Florida on Irlo Bronson Mem Hwy 34744. This Dental office is out to rip your pockets!!! They give you Dental products then charge you for it on the low. They don't ask whether you want it or not. Everytime I went back after being told I paid bill in full they claim they forgot to charge for this and that. They was going to charge me $175 for a filling of a cavity which I refused to get done. Went for a second opinion with a different dentist to find out I did not have a cavity. After I'm all paid up and have no intentions of going back because of them trying to fix a cavity that I did not have. They now send me a bill through the mail stating I still owe them money. I squared everything before I left paid them an extra $95 on top of the almost $800 and they still trying to rob me for more money. I called back and here they go well this is whats due because of blah, blah, blah...save yourself the headache and your pockets!!!!
