Signed up to monthly subs without giving my consent

After signing a petition and paying a one-off (or so I thought) donation, I found minutes later I had been enrolled into a monthly subscription. I wasn't asked about this and wasn't aware that was happening. I tried cancelling after following their link in their email which was labelled "..it's simple [to cancel], straightforward, and can be done at any time." but my cancellation "failed" and was instructed to contact them by clicking on another link which took me to a generic customer support page. Very off-putting for future donations and engagement with change.org.

Take care

I was happy to sign some petitions, and to make the odd one-off donation. However, like others, I was disturbed to find myself mysteriously signed up to automatic monthly payments via PayPal, which I hope I have successfully halted. Perhaps a petition is needed.
