Positives: the Virgin active health spa is excellent. And they upgraded us to a riverside view. Both appreciated.
Negatives: Truly terrible service. Without doubt the worst breakfast I've experienced at a hotel, ever. It wasn't busy, yet people had to wait for over 45 mins once seated. Toast and juice wasn't even served while we waited. No continental breakfast was available either. There were several very upset guests, it wasn't just us.
The night before, I had requested 2 teabags be sent up to our room at reception. They took half an hour to arrive, and two phone calls. Each time I called, the receptionist said they were "coming now". They weren't. I don't like being fobbed off like that. It's rude.
Given that it was quite expensive, I won't be rushing back.
