CROOKS!

Country: USA
Description of complaint:
My Sister passed away on Jan 15,2025. She had 5 Aflac
policies, 3 of which should have that should have paid out:
Cancer, Life, SSD,. I filled out the CORRECT paperwork
before her death for the cancer diagnosis, hospital stays
and SSD they back owed her from before her death. I
reported her Death on February 28th and reached out
multiple times for life insurance payment of a significant
amount. To no avail with countless emails and calls. I finally
got a letter 2 months later stating that the Cancer and SSD
WAS NO LONGER PAYABLE BECAUSE SHE WAS DEAD. I
said the claim was BEFORE SHE PASSED??? They then
stated i was not the beneficiary on her Life insurance policy,
and sorry but they couldn't pay me nor could they tell me
who the beneficiary was??? However i have been her legal
POA since 2023, so I legally have a right to this information

on her behalf. Long story short, i called over and over and
all they say is "sorry we cant tell you anything". I sent them
the POA paperwork and death certificate and told them to
cancel all her policies which was direct debited monthly in
the amount of$333.15. They said all set , they are cancelled.
So i wrote down the info of who and when i spoke with the
person. Of course thy did not cancel it saying "We never
received the paperwork" OF COURSE THEY DIDNT! I
certified it and mailed it to corporate. I also resubmitted on
April 23,2025 for the life insurance policy stating me as the
beneficiary with a copy of the notarized change that she did
in 2022. I was then sent paperwork 2 days later to apply for
the life insurance on behalf of her estate. So i did that.
CRICKETS! So i call again, I was told "its in process" and we
are now at the end of June, so 5 months later not only are
they collecting interest on HER money but i have also been
charged the $333.00 every month since she died. I am
grieving my sister and yet they can abuse and literally steal
our money! in exhausted with this and i need a resolution.
completel and utterly disgusted!

I’ve paid into Aflac for 8 years

I’ve paid into Aflac for 8 years, I had dental work done recently- a bridge replaced and they denied my claim and paid no part of it. The most the claim would have been was about $650. I paid $3000 out of pocket. What a horrible unethical company. They denied because they said I lost the original tooth before I was insured by them. It’s crazy to not have a bridge replacement covered. The portion they could have paid if they were fair and ethical would have been worth it to keep me as a lifelong customer. But they lost an 8 year customer over $650.

Aflac is a waste of money unless you expect to get cancer

I have had Aflac for many years at $47 a month with all the beels and whistles and they have never once paid a claim. Reciently I developed a major heart condition including Cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure. I had major heart surgery to correct the condition and prevent stroke or death. Missed work for 7 weeks. Aflac sadd it was not serous enough and denied my claim.

Absolutely worst supplemental insurance…

Absolutely worst supplemental insurance company I've ever had dealt with. I recently needed eye glasses. Upon contacting Aflac the employee couldn't communicate very well and certainly couldn't communicate in English. I was told I didn't have a vision policy. Finally after finding an employee that knew how to communicate I was told what I knew to be true that I had a policy. I spoke with a tier one manager who was polite and courteous and she did her best to accommodate me.
After a few days I contacted Aflac again and was told I could drive 34 miles to Georgia from Hilton Head SC and I could use my policy there a few days after being told I could use the vision center here on the island. The absolute worst part of dealing with this inept company was I never received my vision ID cards four months after signing up for the policy. Suffice to say I've cancelled my policy and I feel completely ripped off. Stay away at all costs.

I Rate Aflac Less Than Zero

If I could rate Aflac less than zero, I would. I had several serious medical problems last year. The paperwork required to submit a claim was clearly designed to avoid submitting a claim. Each claim took many hours - physicians examination records, was it an accident? A hospitalization? A critical health problem? If you filled out the wrong form, rejected out of hand. All of my claims were essentially rejected, with a pitiful $150 check sent on medical bills in the thousands of dollars. Supplemental insurance to protect your finances? It is a total joke, or if you like, a sham.

AFLAC IS A SCAM

AFLAC IS A SCAM. I purchased a 12 month disability police through my employer. After a few years my employer dropped Aflac for what they found better.
I was told I could continue to pay direst and did. 2015 my doctells me it's time to stop working and submitted the required documents. After three months social security approved me, but Aflac said I need documents from my employer. They have no record of my disability because I was working directly with Aflac. They continue to collect a monthly payment knowing that I could never collect. We I requested a refund it also was denied.

Worst company. Do not sign up with them. They spend a lot on advertising to bring you in only to find out they will never pay any claims.
Why hasn't the government shut them down !!

As Close to a Scam as Legally Allowed

I called and reviewed my situation with customer service before starting the process. Completed all questions and submitted all supporting documentation. Claim was denied - reason no paid premiums. Provided proof of paycheck deduction documentation each month. Claim still denied.

Aflac’s mantra: Ignore, ignore, ignore…

Aflac sends mail to my address for someone who moved 4 years ago when I bought my house! If their records are this outdated, what information is the intended recipient missing out on?

I must have at least sent back 10 of these pieces of mail with a note asking Aflac to update their records. I’m still getting her mail to this day.

I filed a complaint with the BBB earlier this month. The woman employee who my complaint has been assigned to, Cindy Hofstetter, has been completely unresponsive.

I comment on Aflac’s social media posts looking for answers, and nothing.

It’s clear that Aflac thinks ignoring problems will make them go away and that they don’t care about customer service or potential damage to their brand’s image.

NEVER USE AFLAC

I am not a customer but Aflac keep contacting me saying that I am, this is either fraud or a real customer has used a wrong email address. Either way I contacted them in May 2024 and asked them to check and let me know the outcome, they have not responded.

I still get emails from them regularly as though I am a customer.

Have had AFLAC policies continuously…

Have had AFLAC policies continuously since 1970.
In 2022, received NO statements for Premiums due in the US Mail. My policy had been cancelled and it was difficult to get it reinstated.
We pointed out to AFLAC in 2022, that by terminating policies, **the company would save tens of millions in claims they would not have to pay. **
AFLAC is no longer a reliable, accessible insurer. They had not received my payment check sent June 15 and Due July 1. Customer Service conversation June 27, 2024 i gave a credit card number to avoid any possible lapse in coverage.

Cannot recommend AFLAC for any reason. They must be monitored by the client. 15 million world customers should enhance the customer service, not make it unavailable.

I have been a member since 1998 for the cancer insurance. First sent a claim for Melanoma on my forehead after sending all they wanted, claim denied, in my opinion they are for them to make money not pay the claims I filed a claim in BBB yesterday they have almost 800. complaints, in my opinion the Duck is a Lame Duck.will cancel next year already paid for 2024.

Cancelled my policies I have been a policy holder since 1996. This last 2 years have been horrible customer service. Removed my son for no reason when I only removed my oldest son due to his age and would not provide the documentation as to why. Only put my husband on 3 of my 5 policies with no explanation even after I provided copies of the policy changes. DONE AFLAC is the worse and I will share that with everyone

Lack of Customer Service and Information
My father has a cancer policy and I went on line to get information. I was logged into the chat room and they hung on me sending me to another web site. No phone # to call or someone to talk to. I am a business owner and I have a policy for the last 30+ years. I am not sure I will keep my policy or recommend them to my employees in the future. Shane Applebee - 0FQL6 customer #.
