Theft

Shocking billing system. I have had three lots of subscription leave my account - two payments are for a domain that doesn't even exist so I can't cancel it. Customer support was a total waste of time and slow to catch on to my query, ignoring my requests over and over. I will never choose GW again.

Tricked into an annual subscription

Bad! I wanted to test the google calendar appointment app. It didn't work out the way I wanted so I cancelled the subscription. Now I am stuck to a yearly subscription. When cancelling this, it costs me over 200 euros...

I had a problem verifying my payment, and now they are saying they can't give me back my domain! It will take 60 days for the system to automatically delete and I can get access to my domain for a new workspace account!

Be really careful when signing up to this service due to the hidden charges that come with the subscription. I was charged after cancelling my subscription and when I contacted them for a refund, they told me that I cannot receive a refund despite them being aware I had not used my account for over a year.

Price Increase

Price is already high and I get a notification for price increase. I don't need your AI features. Stop increasing your prices! Terrible! Do not use Google because they will constantly increase prices. Disgustingly greedy.

Buy offshore...

Google. I LoVE Google.. Well, not so much anymore.

I tried to set up a Workspace account because Bluehost, a webhost I mistakenly moved to February 28, almost three months ago, can't figure out how to set up email.

Well, much to my shock and awe, (Gawd I wish I was kidding..), Google Workspace tech support is OFFSHORE, and via email.

So, they email, tell you someone's going to call on the phone between such and such time, and they don't.

Then, almost a week later, they send another email.

Email. What is the big problem all these corporate "technical wizards" have with setting up email?

And, Google.. Only OFFSHORE email support, and it's barely there? Seriously?

And, how about America. (I'll see if I can post a review for America next.) All this, "BUY AMERICAN!" crap. (All caps courtesy of The Liar in Chief.)

"BUY 🇺🇸 AMERICAN!" But! Tech support? ALL OFFSHORE.

Pay Americans a wage they can live on to answer the phone? "What?! Are you kidding? That's costs money! We can't have that..."

You can't make this sh*t up.

We're living in.. The Twilight Zone. Soon to be a banana republic.

Blocked from Sending Emails – Google Workspace Failed Me

I’m a paying Google Workspace user, sending only 20–25 verified client emails daily, no spam, no abuse.

Yet my account was wrongly flagged with an internal "ACS_BOUNCE" status. Google Support Agent Madhu told me to "just wait 24 hours", offering no real resolution.

Even worse, Madhu also falsely claimed my account was in a “trial-like” state. But my authorized reseller (KnownHost) confirmed:

I’ve been fully paid up since December

My account is not in trial

ACS_BOUNCE isn’t even a publicly documented Gmail status

Despite clean SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and verified Postmaster Tools setup, Google blocked me from replying to active clients with no human override.

This is the level of support Google offers to honest, small business users.

Google deliberately ruined search and…

Google deliberately ruined search and went all in on AI, spending huge sums on compute for their LLM hallucination engine Gemini. Now they are raising Workspace prices yet again and justifying it due to providing Gemini - a service we do NOT want, and have NO way of disabling. Goodbye Google.

Long time Google customer/supporter

Long time Google customer/supporter. Singed up for the Free Trial of GSuite/Workspace, could not complete the sign up, system could not verify my domain. Got an email saying if I did not verify my domain in 3 days my account would be deleted. Never used the system, never could complete the setup for the free trial, still says to verify my domain to continue trial. Flash forward a few months, I have been charged for the service for a few months. You can only speak to a bot on chat, you can not speak to a real person, no matter what. They could only offer me a refund if I was double charged, not in the case where I never should have been charged in the first place. They offered me credit for future bills, for a system I could never finish setting up. So brutal.

Basically blackmailing you into paying to access emails. I didn't even know i had a 14- day of trial and now suddenly it is paid god knows what. They dont even allow you access to access your own email before everything shuts.

Google Workspace feels like it was…

Google Workspace starts off like a dream—it promises seamless tools, sleek integration, and the power of Google behind your business. But once you’re past the honeymoon phase, it becomes a frustrating maze of disconnected products, confusing admin panels, and impossible account recovery processes.

I bought my domain through Google Domains (great!). Then Google sold it to Squarespace without my input (not great). I lost access to DNS because I deleted the original admin account—and there’s no easy way to recover or edit that without jumping through flaming hoops.

Google Sites is painfully basic. Workspace billing is clunky. Support can’t help with domains anymore. And even though Workspace shows my domain as “verified,” I still can’t edit the DNS to point my email elsewhere.

TL;DR: Too many moving parts, too little transparency, and zero user empathy.

If you're a solo founder or just want to run your email and website cleanly, I'd skip Workspace and use a combo like:

Zoho or Namecheap for email

Squarespace or Notion for your site

A proper domain host with real support

Google Workspace could be amazing—but right now, it feels like a tangled legacy system pretending to be startup-friendly.

I was with workspace for a few years…

I was with workspace for a few years but then realised I was using most of the features and paying loads of money. I recently stoppped my subscription. Now I can’t access my email account. Seems locked to google workspace which won’t work without a subscription. I can’t talk to anyone from google about this problem. There’s no email address, telephone number, online help advisor. This is unbelievable for a paid subscription service. Even the smallest companies have some form of person you can speak to for help.

I tried asking the community but haven’t got a response. Can’t even find where the response will be.

Google are crooks.

The mail system works and that. Annoying they keep increasing prices, for the very basic product I signed up for. Impossible to navigate if your want help og want to opt out of the payment.
Good product, completely annoying with the money focus they have to squuze more our of their customers.
"we charge you based on the number of users" even though the billing said 6.90 EURO, they kept charging 13.88 euros. Just stupid and annoying.

Trust me, disgusting customer service i have seen in my life time. This is 4th day i am struggling to access my business email and every time a verification code is sent to the same email inbox which i am asking customer support to access it. Does it make any sense? I have given my phone number and they said it it is switched off which is a big lie. Disgusting and unprofessional service despite paying monthly fee for business emails.

Google: A Digital Hostage Experience

Digital Hostage: How Google's Account Lock Brought Our Business to Its Knees

The morning our entire company lost access to Google Workspace, I watched 7 years of business operations disrupted to a full halt. One arbitrary notification about "Information required to unsuspend your Google account" - and suddenly all of our employees were cut off from everything. Client communications, project files, financial records, and years of business intelligence - all held hostage behind Google's impenetrable wall of automated responses.

The financial bleeding started immediately. Clients couldn't reach us at our professional email addresses. Calendar access vanished, leaving us scrambling to reconstruct hundreds of scheduled meetings and deadlines from memory. Sales teams lost access to their entire pipeline documentation. Customer service couldn't access support histories or client files. Our management was locked out of all banking, trading accounts, and basically anything requiring 2FA via email.

The cascading effects were devastating. We missed crucial client deliverables because the files were trapped in Google Drive. Proposals worth thousands of dollars failed to reach prospective clients. Standing meetings with major accounts were missed. Our reputation, built meticulously over years, began crumbling in hours.

The most maddening part? The complete absence of support or guidance to mitigate the emergency. Our business has paid thousands for Google Workspace, yet there was no emergency contact, no escalation path, no way to reverse the situation. It took hours of research to understand what was going on. Was it a storage issue? A payment issue? No information could be found except for: "your account has been suspended". We were finally able to find the "appeal process" through a customer rep, only to find they had an additional 24-hour response time.

Our accounting team lost access to crucial spreadsheets right before payroll. HR couldn't access employee documents. Development teams lost access to their documentation and collaborative workspaces. Every department discovered just how deeply Google had become entrenched in our operational infrastructure.

The recovery costs were staggering. Emergency IT consultants. Temporary workaround solutions. Lost billable hours. Damaged client relationships. Financial exposure losses - all because one tech giant has the power to unilaterally sever a business's digital backbone.

This isn't just about inconvenience - it's about the existential threat of entrusting critical business infrastructure to a company that can terminate access on a whim. We learned the hard way that Google's monopoly on business services isn't just about market dominance - it's about having the power to devastate any company foolish enough to become dependent on their ecosystem.

Small and medium-sized businesses are especially vulnerable. We lack the resources for redundant systems or the clout to demand accountability. Google's "enterprise" support is a myth - when crisis hits, you're just another ticket in an automated queue, watching your business bleed out while waiting for a response that may never come.

The business world needs to wake up to this reality. Google's dominance in business services has created a single point of failure that no responsible company should accept. The convenience of their integrated services comes at the cost of putting your entire operation at the mercy of algorithmic judgment and unaccountable corporate power.

Our story should serve as a warning. If you're running a business on Google's infrastructure, you're one automated flag away from disaster. It's time to seriously reconsider whether the efficiency of Google's ecosystem is worth betting your company's survival on their benevolence.
