This is a medical office portal from…

Viewmymed.com is a medical office portal from Health Systems Technology supplied to a doctor's office by Medpoint Medical Management Systems.

My wife is patient of a practice that uses this thing.

As a retired IT person who helped manage multiple company systems (financial, company website, helpdesk) I'm more than qualified to comment on this.

It falls way short of what one would expect of such a critical system, such as MyChart/MyCare which is used by the major hospitals in our area.

1. You are provided with a temporary password which expires in 30 days. When trying to create a new one, it says an email has been sent with a link to do so. This email never arrives.

2. When submitting a "secure encrypted email" through he portal to message her doctor, it says a confirmation email will be sent. This also never arrives.

3. After submitting a message, it never shows up until the doctor has replied to it. So you can't check to review it or see the status.

4. Nor does one get a notification when the doctor replies. You have to keep going back to the website to check and see.

5. The "view my chart" option does not work.

6. To add insult to injury, it has a "Who has seen my chart" option which ONLY lists when the patient has logged in to the website.

7. There's no option to change ones email address

8. Talking with our doctor about the portal, they say the company is unresponsive and never returns calls from the practice. They are clearly frustrated with this product.

9. It reflects very badly on their practice, which is in fact, excellent.

If you are a medical professional, avoid this like the plague! And if this company contracts the plague, ignore your Hippocratic oath and let it die.
