Domane+ unreliable

Domane+ AL5 has been continually broken been in the shop 9 weeks out of 14 less than 100 miles covered. Trek store also have caused damage minor but still annoying and something i have to live with.

The geometry of bike and non Electric components seem great. Seems like a good platform in what has a essentially been a long expensive test ride.

Will update when I get bike back one day.

A product that I believe in 100%

I have had nothing but great experience withTrek Bicycle I would definitely give them a five star thumbs up. I don’t think they were as good as they are now say five years ago they got a lot of good parts on them now they do stand behind their name just like I’m probably gonna buy one.

Paint work shocking …

Having bought a trek verve 1 step through E bike for my wife. I can say that we have been impressed with the ease of cycling and the distance covered with the 300 watt battery. My only gripe is that the paintwork is shocking.
If you brush anything against it it leaves a mark and if you chip it suddenly a 1mm chip becomes 3 mm chip as the paint flakes off from around the area. So you have to be really careful not to touch the frame when putting any d locks on or any chains even though our chains and d locks are protected as you risk marking the paint. Knowing what I know now we wouldn’t have bought the bike and it would certainly put me off buying a mens electric bike from Trek.

The trek arl 5 checkpoint

The trek arl 5 checkpoint is a very good bike but the quality of the paintwork is appalling. Sneeze and paint falls off.
I have bikes 20 years old without a scratch. Trek must do better.

Trek Milton Keynes store

I visited the Milton Keynes Trek store, mentioned that I was a fair weather rider, not fully into riding excessively and just wanted something suitable for weekend rides. The store person said any trek bike under £2k is not worth buying, dismissed their Dual 2 Hybrid bikes as rubbish and in effect was trying to up sale towards a much higher budget. He trashed their bikes priced around £600-£950. When I referred to bikes on sale/clearance, in effect going above my budget he started they’re on sale for a reason ……. His attitude stank…… I just walked out. I was looking to buy two bikes and had previously had a Dual Trek which was perfect for me. Seems like they only want enthusiasts or buyers with budgets over £2k which I could not justify given that I don’t have a heavy bike interest but wanted something reliable.

30 years, now done with Trek.

After having many Trek bikes over 30 years, I have now given up. It is impossible to buy a bike which is suitable. Replacement parts also often a problem as again recently. They should concentrate on making bikes which are functional not fashion accessories.

Poor performance and disappointment: ordering and paying for a Trek bike - but not receiving it

Ordering a Trek from a local Trek store via their internet ordering process is a very disappointing experience. Their internet ordering process is broken. At first, I used their "reserve" a bike feature at my local store. I figured that on the weekend, I would go over and look at it, judge the fit, etc. and then purchase. But after 2 days (without any contact or acknowledgement on the part of the local store - "reasonably local" anyway, about 75 minutes away), the status system Trek uses (called "Locally") simply cancelled my "reservation". (Seinfeld fans will understand the quotes about my "reservation".)
I then thought, ok, I'll simply use this site to buy the bicycle. And so I purchased it, and my credit card was charged just before the Memorial Day weekend. The first morning that the store reopened, I called them... and they had no knowledge about either the "reservation" or the order (again, which I had paid for), and in the meantime, they decided to ship the bike "to a store in Texas".
And so, "buyer" beware: the Trek ordering system (which uses "Locally") cannot be trusted or relied on.
A poor, disappointing experience.

The best staff

The staff in Trek in Bramhall are the most helpful and friendly I have come across. Their knowledge was brilliant and as well as wanting to purchase an E Bike I took in 2 bikes that had punctures and a few other problems but they were sorted and ready for collection within a few hours. I will definitely be back. Thank you.

Cocky and Inaccurate Salesman

Visited our local Trek store over the weekend as looking at my partners options for a new E-Bike.

The service rep on the floor approached and started talking in a manor that was very unprofessional. Spoke to me like I was an idiot who had no idea what I was talking about (I have 30 years in the bike game and have had many higher end E-Bikes myself) and then proceeded to argue with me over trivial things that he was wrong about.

Overall the sales rep really rubbed me up the wrong way with the way they speak to potential customers. Honestly quite pleased I had a look here as the reviews of others and my own experience have guaranteed that I will not be buying a Trek going forward.

Project one farce

Our son, 17 years, bought a trek madone slr 9 gen 8.
He paid for it all by himself. (. And we all know the price)
He bought the white project one frame , because that is what he loved.
He literally drove 20 kilometers with his bike , and then he crashed. The frame broke.
Fortunately we are insured.
But now he wants to buy a new white frame, but unless he destroys his old frame , this is not possible.
So whenever you buy a project one trek bike , be aware . If you break your frame you have to buy a complete new bike .
I find this utterly disappointing and a terrible poor show of brand like Trek.
And there was no goodwill what so ever.
Poor poor show

Warranty claim

I have an issue with the carbon fork on my 6 month old Domane.

After an in-person assessment @ Trek Bicester on 1/3/25, Stuart Taylor (Store Manager) offered relatively little in way of explanation for what might have gone wrong, but suggested we file a warranty claim for a new fork.

Stuart assured me that he would file the claim that day (1/3/25), and would likely receive confirmation from Trek by the 3/3/25 or 4/3/25. With the new fork being delivered by the end of the week (7/3/25).

It is now 11/3/25, 10 days later, and I have received no form of communication from Trek pertaining to the status of my warranty claim.

I emailed Stuart Taylor on 10/3/25 asking for an update. I've been ignored.

The fork is a critical component of a bike, and a failure would be catastrophic. As a result, whilst I wait for Trek to process my warranty claim I cannot ride my bike. I paid a lot of money for a bike that I cannot use, and I have no idea when it will be remedied.

I am slowly loosing faith in the brand. A manufacturing defect on such a critical component is alarming, and I dread to think what might have happened had I not noticed it.

On top of this, Treks communication has been very poor. Online chat were asinine and offered no insight or advice besides contacting my local Trek store. My local Trek store have offered no explanation as to what might have happened, ignoring my email and failing to communicate or update me on the progress of my claim.

I was also slightly perturbed by how Stuart handled my bike when he inspected it, at one point very demonstrably throwing the thru axle back into the fork after removing the front wheel, chipping the paint in the process.

I am now in the process of seeking legal advice on how best to move this forward, whilst considering alternative brands so I can get riding again. If the issue with my Domane is ever fixed I will most likely sell it. A very expensive regret.

I would not recommend Trek.

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service at Trek Rouse Hill

I have always believed in paying more for a reputable brand to receive better customer service and after-sales support. Unfortunately, my recent experience at Trek Rouse Hill has been the worst customer service I have ever encountered, and I feel compelled to raise this matter with AAAC and Trek Bike Management.

I recently purchased two Trek bikes for my child, and on 1/02/2025, I visited the store seeking assistance with a missing rivet for the seat. From the very beginning, the staff member I dealt with was not only unprofessional but also completely unhelpful.
• He spoke inappropriately to our 2-year-old son, which was unacceptable.
• Instead of offering practical solutions, he made excuses and treated a simple request as if it were rocket science rather than a minor issue that could be easily addressed.
• I was told that mechanics don’t work on weekends, they don’t have the right size rivet, and he didn’t know anything about the rivet sizes—all of which demonstrated a lack of product knowledge and unwillingness to assist.

As a customer, I expect a premium brand like Trek to employ staff who are professional, knowledgeable, and customer-focused. Unfortunately, this was far from the case.

I will be escalating my complaint and expect Trek Management to take responsibility for ensuring their staff are properly trained. Experiences like this damage a brand’s reputation, and I strongly urge other customers to be cautious when expecting support from this store.

Trek needs to do better.

Buy direct!

I find that a large percentage of negative reviews on this site are based on bad experiences with a dealer. If you buy from a directly owned Trek store you will not have these negative experiences and I can assure you that your experience will be positive! The bikes are excellent, the service departments are brilliant and the customer service and hospitality are out of this world! If you have a problem, no matter how small, it will be sorted out fairly and with a freindly attitude!

Absolute junk!

Absolute junk!

Have an allant+ 8 and during my 2 years of usage:

Battery broken
Computer broken
Wheel Broken 2x
Wheel hub worn out 3x
Charger broken
Lots of other small issues (eg computer not charging anymore without warning, leaving you stranded even though the bike battery is fully charged)

The bike is also slow as hell, don't even hope to keep up with other speed Pedelecs.

I also found out the hub for example is a cheap 3-pawl Chinese part (15eur) and not a known brand with a ratchet.

Maintenance cost is also huuuge!! Chain and cassette are well maintained, but last on average 800-1300km before they need to be replaced.

Stay away from trek speed Pedelecs! Even the shop where I bought the bike is pulling is hair out because of quality issues with trek bikes (both speed Pedelecs and mountainbikes).

I bought a Trek Powerfly 4FS…

I bought a Trek Powerfly 4FS EMTB,$5299.00 Canadian... after 400 miles, the rear Bontrager tire was done, the rear hub body broke, warrantied, after getting the hub body was replaced, the mechanic told me my shift cable and housing needs to be replaced and the drive train will need to be replaced soon. 150 miles later, the drive train is done! Cable and housing are still working. The dropper seat post wiggles slightly, asked if it could get it replaced when it was new, salesman said it would be at MY COST.
$1200.00 later for upgraded parts, the wheel set, chain ring, chain and cassette. Next, I will need to upgrade the cables and housing, both, for the rear derailleur and the hydraulic brake lines. Poor quality cables and housings!
WILL NOT recommend Trek bikes to anyone!
I should have bought a
KONA.

Unbelievably Good Customer Service

Unbelievably Good Customer Service! I am now on my third Trek bike having bought my first in 2004. The beginning of the year I came off my Domane 5.9 and broke my femur and it rather messed with my head. Every year, we ride the strade bianche in the Autumn but this year I was feeling nervous as my 2016 Domane can only take 28 mm and even then it is very close. I looked around to see if I could find a rim brake frame (I have some nice wheels) with better clearance and I found the 2024 Domane Gen 2 with direct mount brakes could, apparently, take 38 mm. I bought it, but after 3 sets of gradually diminishing tyres realised it couldn't. I contacted Trek who admitted they had made a mistake and then promptly gave me a disc brake Domane frame with a set of wheels as goodwill. Blimey, I was flabbergasted, and I have been meaning to post this and say a big thank you to Trek Bikes for their generosity. I am an ultra distance cyclist and will be looking to do a short YouTube video of LEL 2025 (my third time) on my 'new' and great Trek Domane.
