Tibo PA150 Power Amplifiers.

Tibo PA150 Power Amplifiers.

I bought a couple of these to try out. Here is a summary. I'm not an audiophile but do like my music.

I wanted to use these with my Tannoy XT8F's to bring out a little more sound satge from them. Currently I have a Denon AVC-X3700H driving them in bi-wire. So getting around 105W RMS per channel to the highs and lows.

At first I used a laptop with a 3.5mm jack to RCA connected to the Tibo's and the Tannoy's, just to get a feel of the amp on its own. And they didn't quite sound right even in mono mode (I bought two of these amps - 300W RMS per amp). So I connected the Tibo's up to my Denon's via the pre-outs, and thats when it made a huge difference. It sounded much better. Don't get me wrong my Denon's sounded just as good if not a little better.

Now are these truely 150W RMS per channel, I couldn't tell you as I do not have the necessary equipment to test. What I do know and listening with my ears - everyone has different taste and listening modes. So this is just my opinion, I think they are closer to around 80W -100W RMS in stereo mode, and around 150-200W RMS in mono mode. The reason for these guestimates, I also have a pair of Sony TA-N55ES which I hooked up and they sounded more controlled and much louder - I had the Sony's at around 3/4 volume, as they sounded louder than the Tibo's. The Sony's are rated at around 110W RMS per channel and 300W RMS Mono. Also bear in mind the Sony's are around 30 years old.

Granted - Class A/B and Class D amps are different and I would naturally get a different sound. So not comparing amps. Just wanted to see if Class D amps have moved on in there sound. I don't have the money for the Rotel or NAD's yet.

Now for the money the Tibo's are GREAT value. They run much cooler and take up a lot less space. I may consider using them in my HT setup. Currently have a Marantz SR7013 driving Anthony Gallo Strada's. I will test the Tibo's in mono mode for the Front R, L and C and leave the surround on the Marantz. And see if that helps drive them better. Now its trying to find the time to do this. If I do, I'll update the review.

I hope this was helpful.

Amazing value for money and good quality too - impressed

I was looking for some new speakers for my hifi but was limited by my low budget.

I saw a review for some TIBO Legacy 5+ speakers and they were meant to be great value. I looked on TIBOs webpage and saw they were doing refurbished ones for £79.99 inc next day delivery - direct from the manufacturers, reduced from £249.99. I took a punt. I'm so glad I did. They seem perfect, the quality is absolutely up there and they would certainly be worth the £249 (or more), and absolutely worth what I paid. They have made my music come alive.

I'd happily use TIBO again now.

My only slight gripe is that communications could be better.

DAB/FM tuning problem

I bought the T1435DAB DAB/FM tuner recently and it has exceeded my expectations - an excellent product. However, yesterday I had a problem tuning in a DAB radio station that I couldn't solve and eventually emailed support. Surprisingly, considering that it was a Sunday, I had an almost immediate reply giving detailed instructions. They worked!!
I recommend the tuner without any reservations and will purchase Tibo equipment if any of my current HiFi equipment requires replacing.

Non functioning product and non existing support

Ordered a SIA 75 amplifier from a danish retailer.
First amplifier I received, the WIFI wasn't working, I tried contacting TIBO support through their own support system, never got a response. The danish retailer then took it back and exchanged it for a new unit.
The new unit has a horrible amount of "static" and "popping" from the speakers, unfortunately the retailer has since gone bankrupt and, surprise surprise, TIBO support is still not answering. I even tried their social media accounts, however these seem to have been forgotten in 2019.

To add to this their app is sluggish to a point where I can never get behind this company being an alternative to SONOS or the like.
At this point I have given up, ordered another product and will scrap the SIA75.
All in all, I can in no way recommend this product or the company behind it.
