Once in a lifetime experience

This was an incredible once in a lifetime experience for me! Japan was so full of beauty and culture and I loved the mix of modern advancements so perfectly blended with their traditional roots. Our guide, Jane, was incredible and so accommodating. She ensured we were comfortable, informed and most importantly, safe! Some of the highlights of this trip included getting to meet a real Geisha in training as well as our stay in a monk monastery that was nestled within gorgeous mountains. I felt so connected to this place and enjoyed the amazing cemetery next door which was unlike any cemetery I’ve ever been to. It was so peaceful surrounded by nature and the tallest trees, I took many peaceful walks here (solo and with the other ladies). I was specifically looking to travel during cherry blossom season and this trip did not disappoint!

Meet beautiful Turkey and its wonderful people in the trip of a lifetime

This was my first solo trip and first experience of SoFe and I was not disappointed! From start to finish I felt safe, cared for and provided with the experience of a lifetime. The attention to detail was off the scale, with Feyza our awesome tour guide taking care of everything, leaving us to simply enjoy the trip. Both the cave hotel and mountain hotel were absolutely mind-blowing, the best and most interesting hotels I have ever stayed in. The activities were carefully chosen with an important human element and story in each; I felt connected with Turkey and more importantly its people on this trip. For me, this was the rare golden nugget of the experience. Fatma - our driver - was wonderful, transporting us with professionalism and a great sense of humour; the holiday felt like a group of friends rather than the group of strangers as we had started out. Help was always on hand when inevitably there were little hiccups: one of us being poorly or unavoidable changes in schedule. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole trip was filled with joy and love. The itinerary is not for the faint-hearted with long days and lots to see, but if you are well-rested before departure and with senses keen to drink in the wonderful country of Turkey 🇹🇷, you will have an unparalleled trip. Highly, highly recommended, five stars, thank you SoFe!

A Real Taste of Life

I have to say, this once in a lifetime trip has been one of the most beautiful ones I have been on because it was an opportunity to be at a magical place that was actually on my bucket list that took me to discover a network of women: SoFe (Solo Female Travelers). It was created by Amanda, whom I had the pleasure to meet and organized this small group of women to come together. It was truly enriching to see all of us women from different places, ages, and stages in life becoming vulnerable, giving each other support, being kind to one another, share sincere laughter, and open up to share deep thoughts and personal stories next to the campfire while wrapped around our cozy blankets. We spent a fun time cooking together, playing rated R games (lol), going on a gorgeous hike to Joshua Tree Park, painting and beading in the outdoors, and being free. I had never been on a trip like this before but the love and kindness I felt, reminded me of my very sensitive side, my essence, and getting a real taste of life. I felt all of my senses come together and felt true joy.

India was a transformational experience. Our guide, Komal, was wonderful. The hotels, meals and experience were all 5 star worthy. Iloved this so much I'd go back and do it all over again.

Loved this tour!!

Loved this tour!!! Our guide Komal was AMAZING. It would not have been as fantastic without her. Every spot we went to was wonderful and I appreciated all the smaller stops that coincided with the main attractions (eg marble shop before the Taj Mahal). I'm speechless as to what a unique and beautiful experience it was.

Komal was one of the best guides. Extremely patient, understanding, and knowledgeable.

I can't wait to go back!!

Need a winter packing list for Morocco

We had a great time. Wonderful guide and driver. Terrific travel mates, lodgings, and itinerary. My complaint is the packing list should have been customized for winter travel, and having warmer clothes would have made it more comfortable. We needed coats, hats, and scarves not bathing suits!

The most amazing way to "travel solo"…

The most amazing way to "travel solo" while making friends along the way. Our dedicated tour guide and driver made sure we were well-informed about the areas, the people, the food and the culture we visited. I loved that we saw some of the main tourist places, but also ventured off the beaten track to get closer to the communities where people live and spend money with small businesses.

Can’t say enough good things about the…

Can’t say enough good things about the two tours I’ve taken with SoFe. I went to Egypt and Japan and still rave about my experiences. The Guides were incredible, I don’t know how they accommodated everyone but we all felt like the VIP traveler.

I was really nervous that the group may not be nice or I wouldn’t make friends but both times that was so far from the truth. You don’t always like everyone, but the feeling of community was so strong that everyone just belonged. And I did make some friends who I still talk to and have even traveled in the USA with. Our groups were pretty diverse with mostly Americans but also someone from Malaysia, a couple women from the UK and one from Kenya when went to Egypt. And a couple Australians, someone from Paraguay, and one person from the UK.

I’m signed up for Morocco next year and I can’t wait!!

Off the beaten path experiences

The Golden Eagle festival itself was unbelievably cool. Mongolia isn’t an easy place to travel in. It wasn’t just sightseeing, it was about real interactions and learning from people living their day-to-day lives. But like any trip, your experience depends on your attitude. SoFe is perfect for travelers who like to be off the beaten path, want an adventure, and are open to an immersive cultural experience.
But being in such a remote place, they really make sure everyone feels comfortable and cared for. They go out of their way to make sure they accommodate for everyone.
There is a lot of value in traveling with a group of like-minded women that you just can’t get in a mixed-gender group. The camaraderie and connection you feel is unique and something I didn’t expect going into it. Go try it for yourself!

Made friends for life in Turkey

The whole experience in Turkey was amazing. Especially the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, the cruise along the Mediterranean, and the cave hotel we stayed at. I also really enjoyed our guide, driver, and the other ladies on this trip. They all made Turkey extra special. I went on this trip totally solo, but left with friends for life! This was my second trip with Sofe, and I think it’s just easy to make friends on their trips because of the company values of community and empowerment. I loved that we all have similar mindsets and can relate on so many things even though we all come from different cultures and ages. My roommate was from Vietnam and we’re already planning a trip together for when I go to SouthEast Asia!

This was such a fabulous tour

This was such a fabulous tour. I was worried about it being too busy and not fitting in with the other people in the group, but I really had the best time. I went to India with the company, and since it was my 54th country, I am an experienced traveler who is used to doing things totally solo. I chose a group tour because I have heard India is difficult and not that safe on your own, and I wanted an easier trip. I chose Sofe because their itinerary was so amazing and also included solo time. The itinerary ended up being so much better than I even expected from reading it online. The other people on the tour were amazing women who I have kept in touch with. My favorite day was the rickshaw tour in Jaipur with all female drivers. We stopped for chai and for photos, and you could just tell they were having such a good time with us. It felt so empowering all around. I could go on and on about this tour, buy overall. 12/10 LOVED this trip and would recommend it to anyone who is ready to experience India.

I really love this company

I really love this company. I feel so safe on tours with them and I always have a lot of fun traveling with other women. My last tour had women from 5 different countries and I’ve already visited one of them in Malaysia and another in Singapore.

My first SoFe Trip was Morocco and then I went to Egypt. Next year I’ve booked both Japan and India, and I’m so excited!

The accom in Morocco was stunning, that hotel in Fes and the rooftop in Marrakech were big highlights for me. We drank wine when the sun set and swam in the pool and took a ton of photos in our room, because everything was just so beautiful. That trip was a lot of driving but very fun. I hate camping but the tents in the desert were so probably one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in on my travels. Everything about that night in the desert was just as magical and more so than the website describes.

I love Morocco so much that I went to Egypt next. This was the best trip of my life. Our guide was the best, I loved sailing down the Nile and meeting the Nubian people. We had so many foodie experiences And so much fun.

Thank you so much, Sam, Sara, Amanda, and the whole team. You’ve literally made my travel dreams, come true and so many new friends and surprise experiences in the process. Can’t wait to travel with you next year

Cannot recommend more

I've been on two trips with this company, and I absolutely love them. Sam, our guide in Egypt was fantastic! That trip is still my favorite trip of all time, and I've been to a lot of countries. I also went with them to India. I was pretty nervous to go to India totally solo, and I'm so glad I went with SoFe. I meant so many amazing women in my group and I loved how the itinerary was super local and female focused. Even the rickshaws we were in were operated by women and we visited a café run all by acid attack survivors. It was just a magical tour and I talk about my SoFe trips all the time. I recommend this company to everyone.

If I could give this tour 6 stars, I would. ✨

If I could give this tour 6 stars, I would. I went to Japan with Solo Female Travelers Network and IT WAS AWESOME. This was my 4th group tour, and I will only ever book with this company from now on. I made the best friends, it was like a girls trip but they started out as strangers. I never imagined I would get along so well with a group of women, let alone become such good friends with them.

Our guide was really sweet and knew everything about her country, including the best restaurants hidden in alleyways and basements that I would never be able to find, even with Google maps. One of the most memorable things we did was spending the evening with a geisha. I really didn't know what to expect, but it was so fun and really cool to learn about why she became a geisha and how hard her training was. Kyoto was magic. I also really loved hanging out with the group at the hotel where we had private ryokans. The food was so good at that hotel too and the rooms were very modern Japanese. So cute.

Anyway, I could go on and on about how much I loved this tour, but I recommend Japan with this company with my whole heart. 💗👘

I was so nervous to book a tour and to…

I was so nervous to book a tour and to go alone, but I am so glad I did. My first tour was to Egypt, and it was the best trip of my life. Sam, or guide, was amazing and every day was really fun. My favorite was sailing down the Nile at sunset and then dancing around the fire at the Nubian village. Part of what made this trip for me was the group of women. There were 12 of us and everyone was nice and inclusive, we had no drama. I still keep in touch with most of the women from this tour.

I loved Egypt so much that I booked India. I loved this trip, even though it was a different vibe. I really appreciate how there were so many experiences with women, like visiting Sheroes Cafe, where acid attack survivors are given a job and a community. We also celebrated Holi at a local family's house and had a cooking class with three generations of women at their home. My only complaint about this trip was that the group was sometimes challenging to stay positive around. India is not an easy or predictable place, it's chaotic and things just don't always go to plan. I was happy to go with the flow because even when the itinerary had to be moved around to accommodate unexpected traffic or a site being closed when it should be open, our guide always got us everywhere we wanted to go. Nothing was skipped, in fact it sometimes led us to cool roadside stalls and a little more time to chat with the locals we were meeting. But some of the group members were just always complaining, and I didn't leave with as many friends as Egypt. I still had a great time and I loved my roommate.

I would book another tour with Sofe again for sure. I am even thinking about going to Mongolia next!
