zilch support

i never had an issue deploying or setting up any other vps in the past several friends even checked i must of gotten a bugged one or something but it would not allow more than 5 people on it after i made open vpn configs . they did zilch to help me . iknow this is not them though because this has never happened before this not until this previous time with this issue but beforehand i never had any issues with tempest nor any questions to ever ask .... tempest was always my 1st choice.... matter a fact tempest is still my favorite path provider so iam upset with this .ill get over it

Frequent downtimes

Frequent downtimes

My machine at Phoenix was down for ~2 months, they offered transfer to new location, now New York is down for almost a week.

If you intend to use tempest I personally recommend having always a backup service, tempest is pretty great when its working but when its down its usually down for long time, so always have backup ready in case you don't want to lose money like i did hoping they'd resolve issue quickly.

Most of users don't even get compensation for downtime and still need to pay same amount for machine once next month's pay is due despite it being down for over week

tempest the best

used tempest for about 2 maybe a little more years now and even got a good pal of mine to join me and use tempest, we currently own a NewYork Machine and a London Machine, and even though with the current situations there having and have had with some locations or other issues, to me tempest is still the greatest hosting on the market! every hosting has issues and downtime, not every hosting is perfect. but honestly i could never imagine using any other hosting, tempest is 100% the best to me.

shitty ass lying company

ngl they just lying atp... awful uptime, they constantly reply with "Path doesn't provide dedicated servers" when they literally host dedicated servers (/dedicated-servers) on their website. the company is owned by incompetent people which cant even afford datacenter bills.

One word: awesome

Since my servers were receiving heavy attacks, I decided to move them to Tempest Hosting. My server was installed instantly after payment, the management panel and firewall settings work very well, DDoS filters and protection are very successful (only attack logs are not visible, it would be great if they fix this). My server ticket was answered instantly. I am quite satisfied in general. As someone who is obsessed with security, Tempest is now #1 for me.

I definitely recommend it.

Honestly... What went wrong?

Honestly, not sure what happened to these guys but they've really let me and a lot of server owners down over the last year. From migrating servers with no prior warning, to the insane wait times for support tickets unless you pay obscene amounts, this just isn't it anymore, the hardware, the reports of lag - even from Rustified who use them as a host - they will be leaving there's no doubt.

Tempest - A server cannot get DDoSed if it's always down

Let's start with the simple fact that they started multiple datacenter migrations without any email warning, which is a very basic expectation from a hosting company.

Their Dallas point of presence suddenly went down with no prior warning, and it stayed down for 10 days. This caused a massive amount of damage to our very popular FiveM server, as the player database was stuck on the offline machine for that whole period of time. A lot of the players left, and thus our monthly revenue in February was 60% lower than the average we consistently held for years before.

This is just the start though, in fact, we had also purchased a Singapore server with them, but it was never online, as they sold us an offline server pending migration, and to this date they have not completed such migration. Their Singapore and Tokyo servers have been stuck in a limbo for nearly 2 months now, while their status tracking page reports them as online, funnily enough.

After everything got back online, players started complaining about timeouts and high packet loss. In fact, it was almost the same as if the server was being DDoSed, which voids the whole selling point of Tempest/PATH.

Finally, I want to talk about their atrocious customer support. The people I interacted with are James, Sean and Kyan. They are in fact very professional and good at responding to support tickets. The problem is not their professionality, which I don't doubt, but the fact that they cannot understand that their company is at grave fault, and they should do their best to remediate to the damage done, instead of giving the minimum possible that they can give according to their SLA, like robots.

Overall, I would never recommend Tempest to anyone, and I would advice to stay away from it if your income depends on your hosting service, as they are not a responsible company.

To the Tempest team: you have made bad business decisions, and brought a lot of customers down with you? Then bring some of that damage unto yourself too, as it's your responsibility. Don't just try to give the bare minimum, and if customers have a specific need, for example having the credit sent on a different machine than the one affected, then just help them out, out of courtesy and good customer service practice.

Top Host

We've been using Tempest as our Rust server host for a year and a half now, and the experience has been excellent.

The support team is always responsive and helpful, making sure any questions or issues are quickly resolved. The tempest managed panel is intuitive and easy to use, making server management a breeze.

Awful

tempest is a complete disaster when it comes to server stability, not even worth a capital T. Constant lag, frustrating downtime, and zero reliability. You're paying top dollar for a soggy gas station sandwich.

To make things worse, their customer service is just as bad. They provided a weak SLA for their data center migration, and the weeks of lag that followed (which is still ongoing) are out of their hands. If you actually care about your server, this is the last place you want to be. Avoid unless you enjoy sloppy work, empty promises, and being led on!!

Worst Hosting Experience Ever

I don’t usually write reviews, but this hosting company has been such a nightmare that I have to warn others. First off, their prices are insanely high for the level of service they provide. You’d think for the cost, you’d get top-tier hosting, but nope it’s the complete opposite.

Their uptime is a joke. My dedicated server has gone down multiple times with zero warning, and they randomly migrate servers without telling anyone, breaking everything in the process. And when you try to get help? Good luck. Their support team either ignores you or gives you generic responses that don’t solve anything. It feels like they couldn’t care less.

I’ve lost time, money, and patience dealing with this company. If you care about your company, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This was hands-down the worst hosting experience I’ve ever had.

you will get an extremely crappy server for a price that is way above the market price.
your server will be down for more than 9 days in a month, and almost every 2 days for the remaining 21 days, all users will get huge lag, but they won't fix anything, they will just tell you: we can't provide an ETA at the moment!
If you want the dial-up experience of 30 years ago, buy it and enjoy it!
