The initial in store purchase was easy and customer service was good, but the after sale was terrible. My glasses were supposed to take 2 weeks, but after 2 weeks they still didn't come in. Then when I talked to Customer Service in the store all I got was an "I don't know, but hopefully they will come in soon." Couldn't give me any other information or timeline or offer to double check. The excuse was they didn't meet the quality when they came in so sent them back...which isn't very comforting. It's not as if these were an inexpensive pair of glasses, paying over 400.00, so Target has seen my last business... I know they don't care, but wanted others to buyer beware...

Wrong frames were sent. I also ordered transition lenses and they came terribly made. There was a smudge that wouldn’t come off no matter how you cleaned it. In the end I returned. I didn’t spend $500 on meta glasses for them to come wrong and damaged thank you.
Update: that email doesn’t exist. Good try to make up that you care.

After reading the reviews I will go elsewhere to get my prescription filles. I cannot deal with the hassles. But mostly, I found Target's replies very disturbing. Target did not address individual problem, just sent the same BS response to everyone. It is clear Target does not care. Also more than a third of reviews were legit one-star complaints. Target should be ashamed.

It will take 17 days for my contact lenses to arrive from the time I ordered them to when they get here. It was difficult to get ahold of customer service and to navigate the automated system. When I finally reached someone, I was told I will get this expedited as it got “stuck” in the system. I was told this on a Wednesday and Friday morning. Won’t get them until June 25th when I’m no longer in the country. I don’t understand why I was not compensated for the error on their end and my package wasn’t expedited. I regret not canceling and asking for a refund when I first called on Wednesday.

Was sent the wrong RX. Returned it for exchange. The exchange never was sent. Called and a new order was created. That order was then cancelled. One month after the original order, I have still not received the correct contacts or a refund for what was returned. Waded for what seemed like an eternity through their god-forsaken phone tree only to finally be told they were closed for the day.

Do yourself and your eyes a favor and see a real optometrist, in a real office. You're not saving any money at $180 to visit with the guy at Target. I have been wearing Acuvue Oasys for 35 years and my eyes are more comfortable with them, than without. I have been having a little trouble with small writing as I age, so I thought I would see if my prescription needed to be changed. Well, the eye guy at Target decided to now put me contacts with astigmatism. He gave me a trial pair to wear from that visit until the new prescription came from Target Optical. BUT, the sample pair was different from what I would receive in the mail, which is not kosher. My eyes were fine with the trial pair, but when the astigmatism lenses came, I had to remove them within a few hours and my eyes burned for days. I complained to Johnson&Johnson who requested the used pair for lab work. Target Optical is making the return process impossible as they don't process returns for instore purchases. BTW, they are partnered with 1800-CONTACTS and just using their own packing slips. They are good for nothing. Use 1800-CONTACTS for lenses and stay far away from their over aged, retired eye "guys".
UPDATE: I have reached out to Target Optical's online support who said they couldn't do anything and I need to go back into the store for a refund on the bad lenses. I went back into the store today, and they said they can't do anything. I spoke with the eye doctor, and he said he's separate and independent of anything relating to Target Optical. Thanks for making my problems ten times worse.

I ordered my contact lenses online and never received them. They sent me a tracking number, but it never showed up as if anything had been shipped. I submitted my refund and hope to get my money back.

I would give zero but the girl who fitted my glasses was very nice. The doctor however told me I had cataracts. I didn't see an OCT scanner there though they have many machines and tests but nothing to definitely tell you that you have cataracts. I went to 4 retina specialists and they said I never had cataracts. What I had was totally different and had to do with the retina. Without the proper scanners you cannot make this statement about cataracts. The prescription was good but I needed a script for dry eye and the doctor told me she would write it and never did. I tried to call and get a prescription for contact lenses since they don't take Medicare it cost a lot for the exam and it was impossible to get a script for contacts which I would have paid more. Every time I called the lady was so rude to me and even hung up on me. The lady who helped me with my frames was polite and gave me a discount from AARP. Don't go here unless you want to be treated badly and hung up on and can't get a prescription even after spending over 500$ there. Never again

I really love the customer service and support plus the policies around customer satisfaction. What I am struggling with is the change in lens options or distributor of them. I had the worst plastic lens and upgraded to one of the most expensive. I picked the new paid up today and my vision is worse everything is blurry and worse then my four year old prescription. I am unsure why my prescription is so off and harder then ever to get one that fits all my needs. I am not sure why there is such a barrier to getting a good pair of glasses and seeing well.

Submitted prescription in written, and photo format for Contacts. Tried to add DR in database since mine wasn't listed. Can't do that. Ok...Well then let me add him. Sure did take my money though. And then cancelled my order a week later due to Dr. didn't match expected values. And offered no notice, or explanation as to reason for cancellation. I had to wonder one day where my contacts were, and then look it up myself to find out they had cancelled. I go get prescription, I give you copy of my prescription, and money. You send me contacts. It's not MY job to do the rest of it. This WILL be my last time ordering contacts thru TargetOptical.com. Abysmal experience.

TARGET DOES NOT ADJUST AND FIT THE GLASSES FOR YOU. You have to go to another optical store and pay to have them fitted by a completely different optomitrist. Target lets you pay $800 for frames and lenses then lets you walk out with crooked glasses on your face. How do they get away with it? Don't people flip out when they are informed of this?

After talking to customer service and sending over 10 emails, still no receipt provided to make an insurance claim after 3 months. Website does not work to download receipts, pretty disappointing for a company like Target.

In late March I placed an order for 4 boxes of contacts and was accidentally sent my older prescription that I purchased the month prior, before my most recent vision test. They received my return on April 7 (not sure what mule-based shipping they utilize for pre-paid returns) and it’s now April 26 and I still haven’t been refunded nearly $330 that they owe me. I’ve called twice about this and been told it takes up to 15 business days - 3 full weeks - to get a refund, which sounds reasonable if you’ve a) just had a lobotomy or b) have never used a credit card or the internet before and have no idea how either one works. There’s literally no reason why a refund should take longer than a day to process, and there’s also no reason I should be acting as a bank that’s effectively loaning Target $330 for a month. Also FYI: you can’t go to a Target store if you have an issue with your order and you want to speak face-to-face with a person, because that would be sensible and nothing about this place is. They shouldn’t even be allowed to use the name Target for their Optical Online business since it’s a completely separate entity - something you’d never know by going to the website.

1st. Website kept glitching to finalize the order. 2nd. Order took too long to receive with NO communication throughout the process. Until I called Customer Service, 2 weeks in, coincidentally, the day I called is when the contacts shipped out. No tracking # was offered until I asked for it. Very poor experience, especially for a first time user.

0 stars if I could. Target Optical (online and in person) is the WORST optometrist establishment I have ever been to.
Online is a mess internally. They cannot get their sh*t together. It's been almost over a month since I've been waiting for my refund.
In person (at a specific branch I won't call out) is even worse. They help you when they try to make a sale, but when you try to return an item, after they said you have 90 days to return an item, they gaslight and blame everything on the customer and/or other circumstances. They basically leave the customer helpless and stuck in a lose lose situation which I've never experienced before.

In February 2024 I ordered glasses with the Transitions lenses. All seemed well until the winter, during cold weather the lenses started falling out of the frames. This has continued into the warmer weather. I took the glasses to a Target Optical store and they confirmed that the lenses were manufactured too small for the frames. Now Target Optical refuses to do anything about their mistake. Sure, it is over a year. But when they say "There's nothing we can do about it" they are lying. They could fix the problem if they chose to. They just choose to screw the customer rather than fix the problem.
TargetOptical posted a reply asking me to contact them. The email address they gave does not work. Another example of how they screw their customers.

This company sold me glasses and put in the lenses incorrectly. When I brought them back in to be fixed, they told me that they fixed them, but I could see that it wasn't correct and I wanted it fixed correctly. When they said it was the best they could do, I left. Later the lens fell out for no reason and I couldn't find it, and they refused to fix them. They told me I should have paid $125 for insurance. This company have no respectability and no honor of there company. I would never return and would advise people to NEVER EVER bring your business here. I should have known when I went to a store that was in a Target. Liars. No honor. Terrible customer service. Stay away at all chances.

I really hate that they don’t update you on the status of your order, I’ve been waiting almost two weeks because of I’ve been out of the city and when I check by logging in online that’s when I read it’s been delivered. They don’t show a estimated day or where it’s at in the shipping progress.
