Don't Use Them!!!!!!

There is no communication within this company! I withdrew after being treated terribly and then they kept harassing me to make another appointment with a new provider. No way!! They just want money and have ZERO interest in actually helping people. Oh yea and they just want to medicate people and don't even care to listen to what's going on. "Medicate and Move On" should be the name of their company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a bill for $658 for 1hr-Stay Away!

Got a bill for $658 for 1hr. An hr with a local psychiatrist is $300. This place was supposed to be cheaper because it's via zoom. Had i known it was this much I would have went on Better help.com. This place is a joke!

Horrible experience, I feel much worse after this appointment.

Saw a Geoffrey Sinner MD, tried to tell me I had autism within 15 minutes of speaking to him on the video call. Went in for ADHD and severe anxiety. Attempted to tell me I did not have ADHD despite being diagnosed and treated for half a decade. Multiple SSRI did not work but he went ahead and tried to prescribe another.

This guy SCANNED MY INSURANCE FOR 5 MINUTES WHILE I WAS IN HIS APPOINTMENT, He took up valuable time (you only get an hour) to make sure he was getting paid.

Now I'm out hundreds of dollars despite them covering my insurance. He checked my insurance many times before talking to me, its clear what he cares about. This place hires the bottom of the barrel.

Horrible experience and waste of time

If I could give zero stars I would. Signed my son up for counseling, and the counselor canceled THE DAY OF, TWICE. We’ve been waiting for 2 months now to have an appointment. This company is a joke, don’t waste your time.

I would give this place 0 stars if I…

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I had been researching online psychiatrists for weeks as I needed guidance on weening down an antidepressant that I had been on for 30 years that had stopped working. My PCP had prescribed a different medication but I felt I needed the guidance from a physician that specialized in these types of meds since this was my 4th time trying to get off this medication and I was having horrible discontinuation effects. I waited a week for my appointment and marked out an hour of my work day to attend this appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 9:30am and by 9:45am my provider Jessica had not logged on. I called the main phone number and after finally getting a live person they asked me to log back into my visit while they sent the provider a message. After 2 minutes the Talkiatry person got back on the line and said they had not gotten a response so they were going to send another message and placed me on hold again. At that point where I was logged into my visit, the screen started clitching and the Talkiatry person came back on and told me that the provider was having trouble logging on. At this point it was 25 minutes after my appointment was supposed to have started. They asked if they could reschedule my appointment with the first appointment being available at the end of July. I told them that I need help with medication management sooner that that and the best they could do was 3 weeks away. This is unacceptable. People are coming to them for help with their mental health issues and they act like it’s okay to push them off to whenever when it’s their fault the provider didn’t show up to the appointment. I had high hopes of getting help with medication and management today, now I will have to suffer until I can get into someplace locally. This place should be shut down.

Random and sporadic billing

Random and sporadic billing. Cookie cutter appointments. Walmart of mental health. Therapist left the company. They tried to replace him and came at me with a pitch like they were trying to sale life insurance.

Useless and disorganized

I met with a psychiatrist last August for an assessment. She was useless. She kept going on about “I’ve been doing this for 25 years”; lady, I’ve been in my head for over 40. I’m not trying to rewrite the DSM, I’m trying to relay my lived experience.

Then told me that I don’t need meds (I’ve since seen another provider who has prescribed meds and I’m doing great on them) and gave a referral for therapy. However, Talkiatry, despite the name, won’t allow you to see a therapist if you’re not seeing a psychiatrist.

They offered to match me with another psychiatrist, but there’s no way I’d get a fair, unbiased second opinion. The second doc would have been able to see the notes from the first doc.

I called Talkiatry a couple of times asking to be taken out as a patient, they kept trying to set me up with another doc. I laughed out loud today when I received an email from them saying “we’re discontinuing our relationship with you”… uh, don’t you guys have records of the multiple times I called asking to end my relationship with you?

Last point - their billing is messed up and they charge way more than they should. Call around - you should be paying a few hundred at most for an hour consultation. Not the almost $1,000 that my bill came to.

Talk-whatever-iatry charged me $400…

Talk-whatever-iatry charged me $400 dollars with insurance coverage to talk to a psychiatrist who after I explained suffering from PTSD for years, decides to just tell me they aren't a "good fit", leans into me talking about drug use in my PAST to cope with the symptoms I'm describing by saying I'm an addict basically when I'm not, and asked "why do you think you have PTSD"? Shit sucks. Thanks for nothing. Mids AF fam. Boo. You're all made from loser goo. I'm never paying your bill. Mooohahahaha. I work in the field and think your service is a joke. Either actually help people or get out the game søn.

Pleasantly Surprised With This Online Service!

After initially hesitating to use an online mental health service, I was happy to find it an exceptional experience. The psychiatrist I chose is an excellent communicator. I appreciate her thoughtful and considered approach to medication changes as well as her counsel. After several appointments with her I feel confident that I will continue.

I would not recommend this company

If I could give this service a zero, I would, for the following reasons:

#1 I sent in my insurance information as requested & scheduled an appointment. Since then I’ve rec’d several e-mails telling me my insurance was approved & several more asking me for the information I already provided. Today I received an e-mail asking me to call and have my insurance card available. This company seems to have a problem keeping track of insurance information provided to them (which is concerning). They also have a a problem with messaging. Either they received my insurance information & services were approved or they didn’t. But both???

#2 Then there is the problem with actually seeing a provider. My first appointment was cancelled. This was done by text message telling me the provider was not available. I called the number on the text & rescheduled another appointment. Tonight I received another text message telling me the appointment was cancelled. The provider was not available. On top of that, I received another email asking me to call & have my insurance card available. I’m done. I do not wish to receive services from a provider that continues to cancel & or work with an inept administrative staff that cannot keep track of the insurance information I provided. I definitely would not recommend trying to receive services through this company.

Indifferent Psychiatrist. Horrendous delayed communication between patient and office and doctor when trying to get a simple fax to your employer. Please revise your system.

An excellent doctor

Dr Kannarkat is an excellent doctor. He listens. He asks questions and explains things clearly. He doesn't just write prescriptions and send me on my way. He thinks through things and makes wise decisions.

I waited 3 weeks for an appointment and I couldnt get logged into the website and they were experiencing technical difficulties so they cancelled my apppointment. The Dr. I did research on and wanted to see, doesn't have another appointment for an entire month.
Do not waste your time with Talkiatry.

Unethical practice

I waited more than 10 days for an appointment, which was approved by my insurance. 72 hours of the appointment I received a reminder that if I could not make the appointment, I would need to cancel 48hrs in advance or pay $100 fine. On the day if the appointment and 15 minutes before my consultation was to start Dr. Devin Cromatine Bodrick cancelled the virtual visit. I called the central Talkiatry line and recevied no help. This is an unethical practice and incosidered with patients

Online Therapy Beats the Traditional Kind

At first I wondered if online therapy would be less than what you might get from the traditional kind but I've found it has advantages beyond avoiding a commute. With Talkiatry both you and your therapist or psychiatrist are working in the comfort and privacy of your own homes. It's more relaxing and lends a feeling of safety that only your own home can give, therefore making it easier to discuss intimate or difficult issues. The person I'm seeing is excellent, empathetic, and takes time with me, gently guiding me toward helpful solutions to my problems. It's all around less stressful.

Highly recommend this service

I was able to get an appointment with a provider right away when there were no appointments in my local area. My provider is very personable and easy to talk to. His visits are timely and I have not had any issues with telemedicine service through Talkiatry. If you need to see a reputable and qualified mental health provider I highly recommend this service.

Talkiatry offers an excellent service…

Talkiatry offers an excellent service with a user-friendly platform, but the main reason I continue to choose them is their professional staff. Dr. Gregory Varhely is a truly outstanding psychiatrist. He is warm, attentive, and takes the time to listen, ensuring that the appointment never feels rushed. His calm demeanor and thoughtful approach put me at ease, and his medical advice is always sound and reassuring. I genuinely feel supported and well cared for under his guidance. I highly recommend him!

For a company called “Talkiatry”…

For a company called “Talkiatry” they don’t do talk therapy at all. I was hoping to unify talk therapy and prescribing psychiatry. The therapist was fine but she only offered drugs and I’ve heard too many stories about the trial and mostly error practice of prescribing drugs when not integrated with person to person therapy.

Also Talkiatry has made it exceedingly difficult to have my PCP contact the psychiatrist with whom I consulted.
