Review summary

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers express widespread dissatisfaction with the subscription model and the level of support received. Many consumers report issues with cancellations, unexpected charges, and a lack of response from customer service. The inability to resolve problems promptly has left people feeling ignored and frustrated. The app itself receives mixed feedback, with opinions varying widely. Some users appreciate its features, while others find it lacking or have encountered technical issues. The consensus is that contacting the company is difficult, and when contact is made, resolution is slow or non-existent. A significant number of reviewers express disappointment and are unlikely to continue using the service.

Useless for mountaineering/ski touring.

Just about OK as a fitness app, BUT Strava bought FATMAP (an excellent app for ski touring and mountaineering), and basically shut it down. This act of vandalism may cost lives. There is no replacement yet for Fatmap, so many people have to go back to paper maps and compass.

It was good when it was initially set…

It was good when it was initially set up by cycling enthusiasts, but now it’s all about increasing revenue at the expense of road safety. They allow the most ridiculously dangerous anti social segments to be set up on shared pathways with walkers, along sea proms, blind narrow alleys. I started flagging these many times and the person who was creating them for his KOM hunting quest complained and I got barred from flagging any segments. There have been a number of deaths and serious accidents and allowing dangerous segments clearly shows they do not care about cycling safety!
With a previous upgrade and increased subscription cost they were meant to spot KOMs that were clearly done in a car. Never happened, locally there are plenty of silly KOMs clearly done in a car, like 40 mpg averageon a 1 mile 10% hill.

Absolutely the worst customer service…

Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I submitted a ticket last year to cancel my subscription and request a refund—no response at all. A full year later, they charged me again, and I opened another ticket—still no reply.

It’s honestly unreal that there’s no way to properly contact the company or get support. Completely unacceptable.

Wish I'd read these reviews before…

Wish I'd read these reviews before signing up. Subscribed for a year thinking I was paying monthly and could cancel anytime. In fact they took a whole year's cash. After 4 days I realised it wasn't a good app. Tried to get a refund within the 14 day period. Then the nightmare really begins. No humans. Support tickets are ignored. Emails are ignored. This is truly the worst customer service I've ever encountered in 53 years.

App not fit for purpose

App not fit for purpose. Footpaths shown which don’t exist or are over private land so routes are non existent
No customer service
When you eventually find their email address takes an age to respond. I asked for a refund of tge £65 paid. Told to ask Apple for refund instead?? When I emailed back saying my money was paid to STRAVA and they have my money. I was ignored. Sent numerous polite emails but no response.
DO NOT BUY THIS APP.
IT DOESNT WORK
ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY YOU ARE IGNORED

Where is customer support …

Well I’ve only been with strava a week and already it’s not showing all my daily activities.
Trying to contact them is a joke, so as so many reviews are saying I’d give this a miss until they get customer support facilities sorted. I think the app popularity is just making money rather than helping its members.
So still on the free trial till May even though I’ve unsubscribed but that’s normal, the app only recognises 1 out of the 3 activities I’ve done again today, it’s making me look idle now

Worst company to every lay foot on this…

Worst company to every lay foot on this planet, they need to be shut down, they are thieving scum bags that steel peoples money, they are sneaky so be careful with using the app, customer service is shocking, they work with google to con people, they lure you in with a ‘free trial’ and then steal your hard earned cash, they are rude, do not use this terrible app, I would give minus 200 stars if I could, horrible horrible company that ignore your requests and just want your money they don’t care about you at all. Avoid at all costs. Do not sign up to premium or free trials because you will be trapped in a downward spiral of ping pong emails to try and get your money back when you try and get out of the subscription. AVOIDDDDD!!!!!

Strava is the best

Strava is the best. It works perfectly for me. I love to be outside and do sport. I'm getting on really well in running. I lost a lot of weight and I feel good. A very big thank you to Strava. 🤗😀

Worst app ever

Worst app ever. No features work as they are supposed to. Auto pause is hit or miss, you can't plan routes without it taking you miles out of the way when all you have to do is cross a street with a crosswalk, links never work, I could go on and on. Don't waste your time.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service! Got charged randomly for strava premium when I cancelled my membership well over a year ago, (I triple checked it wasn’t an auto-renewal) and when I’ve questioned them, they have just ignored me

Distance always incorrect

Ive tried to give this app the benefit of the doubt when measuring a distance of a run but it is always incorrect.

Most recently it measured a simple 3k run as 750m.

Not good at all.

No idle warning/high battery usage

The app uses quite a bit of battery. And this is particularly annoying when you forget to stop your activity in the app. It slurps up your whole battery over night, causing you to wake up with a dead phone. I would expect that I should not be too difficult to build in an automatic stop function? or a message to remind you that it is still running? or just lower usage of energy.

The most user-unfriendly app ever!

Downloaded the app. It looks good with all the stats and etc until I tried to set up a cycling route using only bridleway path (traffic free). After over a hour of trying and a couple of youtube videos, I gave up. The app is user-unfriendly. It is simply not designed for ordinary people. May be only for elite runners! Save your money. I did it on googlemap and its free!
