Didn't work for me

Didn't work for me. I carefully cross referenced my stove model and found a part that was compatible with it- according to their site. It arrived and was not compatible. Result a total loss of $316 - return shipping of $198 and their 10% restocking fee. make it too much to return. And then there's a chance they may find some small reason to say its damaged and reject the return. Entire product goes in the trash.

Manager Harassing Small Veteran Owned Business

Save your money don't buy from Mountain View, over priced, and the owner could careless about his customers. Read to the end to find a cheaper alternative with the same great parts you love and trust.

I am a small veteran owned business and I am being mistreated by management over a faulty system error that has cost me $65 dollars and no parts received. Somehow their system had an address saved from 15 years ago or more and when I created my account on October 9th 2024 it brought up an old address I don't use anymore without my knowledge. When I created my account I used my current address and didn't think twice about placing my order. I did not realize their system had an address and phone number from over 15 years ago. I couldn't tell you the house number, street name, or phone number but somehow their system put it in. On top of that the owner was rude and would not work with me on replacing the order. They actually wanted me to go to the wrong address and ask for my part even though it had been 3 weeks since the part was delivered there. Most likely they shipped it back to sender. which means the owner kept the parts and my money.

The Owner thinks he can justify his treatment of his customers and negate blame but any smart business owner knows sometimes you just have to eat a loss. I am a small veteran owned business but had he have taken care of me he could of had a customer for life. Instead he has helped me and anyone else reading this review to order our parts from a better and more affordable small family company.

Here is the information you need so you don't have to buy from Mountain View Hearth. Buy from Woodmans Plus Parts instead. To give you an idea of how much cheaper. I spent $65 dollars at Mountain View and didn't get my product. I ordered from Woodmans Part Plus and only paid $35 and received my parts.. My parts came in and it's a small family owned business who always puts the customer first unlike the owner of Mountain View who speaks sweet words but his fruit is spoiled, rotten, and no good. You can always judge a tree by its fruit. woodmanspartsplus dot com

I 2day expedited a shipment of a couple of door hinges for my wood stove. Both of my hinges broke at the same time. I can only lean the door against the stove. VERY DANGEROUS. Hence the 2day shipping. Its 6° where I'm located. It's been 13 days since I placed the order. Called customer service twice. They said there is nothing they can do.

Very Good Folk

I was searching for a fire place part. And even though they did not have it, they helped find a website for me that might be able to solve my problem. Thank you Harlo!

Always helpful

Always helpful, had an issue with one part in the last 10+ years & they stood behind it. Great crew, quick & accurate shipping, competitive pricing. They have parts for most of the gas & pellet units that I service here in New England.

absolutely rubbish company

absolutely rubbish company. Didnt need to give a serial number when ordering part but now the part I ordered is failed they refuse to honor a warranty because I will not pull a 300lb stove out of my fire place to get them a serial number for something I did not buy from them. Buyer beware to are a rubbish scam company

Had a Vermont Castings Intrepid II for…

Had a Vermont Castings Intrepid II for 30 years. We just purchased a new Intrepid ( not II ). After install I looked online for several days for a spark screen. I should have just called Vermont Castings, but finally found a OEM spark screen for an Intrepid. Cool bought. So excited to receive our new screen enabling use to use our new fireplace. Received our screen, NO FIT. Called customer service, oh no these don't fit the new Intrepid, it says so as you scroll down (my fault). Shipping cost back, plus restock fee. When return mailing at my cost I noticed a large yellow sticker on the box Intrepid II. Ok let's be fair, why do you advertise it as an Intrepid screen? Why not Intrepid II, truth in advertising! They could be the best stove business and sure will not mind losing one single customer but COME ON MAN!
