These guys are great-CON MEN, Buford, Ga

These guys are great-CON MEN! They should be used car salesmen. First of all, you don't even see a doctor for the actual lenses. It's a virtual doctor, with a remote controlled lense machine.
I called them before travelling almost an hour and got a price of $139 for progressives, BOGO. I know that they charge extra for things like the blue light filter, polycarbonate lenses and so on. All total, with the extras I wanted, I was expecting up to $375, according to the prices on the phone.
Well, things did not go as planned. Prices on frames are not marked and was told to just pick out 2 frames. Then when it came time to crunch numbers they tried giving me a price of over $700.
When I said that would not work, they tried to " discount" it to $544, saying one of the frames was $200. I went out and discussed with my husband, came back and begrudgingly said that we would take latest deal they offered. So, as the guy is punching in all the "final" numbers, the price increased back to over $900.
They talk so fast that they actually forgot what the offer was!!
PLEASE DON'T GO HERE!
I paid $79 for my prescription, walked out and went to Walmart, and paid $200 to get what I wanted. I saw the same frames that I saw at Stanton Opticians. They are a rip off con game. Do not go here if you value your pocketbook. I didn't have a complicated prescription- it was only +1.50 (right eye-O.D.) and +1.25 (left eye-O.S.) for reading with an ADD value of +1.50. It's not a complicated prescription and could actually just keep using readers. I just wanted bifocals so that I don't have to keep looking for my readers or removing them when navigating driving apps. Awfully convenient that they do not give the PD values as mono values- as most online retailers require. I will be calling to get mine on Monday! I have gone to the online stores- and put on ALL the EXTRAS (including photochromatic lenses) I wanted, and they still come out to around $100.
There is no excuse for the dramatic difference in price from the prices for the extras I was told on the phone nor the changing prices back and forth. It is shady salesmanship and would love to see a news channel come and do an undercover investigation for the fast talking cheating swindlers that work there.

Now I understand why Stanton Optical…

Now I understand why Stanton Optical has a very bad rating. I purchased frames and lenses from Stanton Optical on Airport Highway in Holland Ohio 2.5 years ago. I purchased additional warranty for any scratched, etc that occurred to these lenses. I want into Stanton Optical on June 6, 2025 to show them that my reflective coating was blistering/ pulling away from my lenses. They told me that the coating was coming off the lenses and was not sure why. I requested them to resolve the issue with my lenses. The stated that my prescription was over two years old so they would not fix my lenses. I explaining that I purchased warranty for any defects for the lenses. They stated that the warranty was only good for two years. I asked them why the don't tell the customers that the warranty is only good for two years when purchasing my glasses. This is the worst customer service I have experienced in over 30 years. DO NOT USE STANTON OPTICAL FOR PURCHASING ANY TYPE OF GLASSES OR LENSES. This company is a joke.

Contact Lenses

I went in for a contact lense exam, but they just provided a general eye exam and wouldn’t let me test any contacts to ensure they fit and I could see properly. Once I got my contact lenses they were the wrong prescription and because I opened the box they will not refund me. I spoke to a representative at the store who said they can recheck my eyesight and order new contact lenses, but I’d have to pay for those too. Not a great experience and ended up paying more than advertised. I wouldn’t recommend Stanton Optical.

I highly recommend Stanton Optical in West Colonial Dr, Orlando FL. This place offers much more than just eyewear, it's a full personalized experience. The manager is incredible professional and attentive. He takes the time to understand your face, shape, skin tone and style to recommend the perfect frame for you.
He doesn't rush me and explains everything in detail, which makes me feel confident in my choice.
His service is outstanding and kind.
I recently ordered my glasses from them (still waiting for them to arrive) but I'm already very happy with the experience.
Honestly you dont regret going to Stanton Optical.

LAME experience

I made an appointment for a new glasses prescription looking at convenience of being seen, service time advertised as "same-day" glasses and the BOGO deal. There was one sales floor person, apologetically greeting customers with "sorry, I'm in by myself, short staffed". I completed the eye health questionnaire on their tablet and was directed to the back of the store to the tech for the initial screening. While trying to scan my current glasses with the machine, she said repeatedly "Oh, Lord, this thing isn't working as usual", then placed my glasses on the desk to "try later because the things glitching". The first test "kept clicking, which means you have something wrong with your eyes". Well, that's kind of why I wear glasses. The 2nd test, glaucoma screen went fine. The 3rd test was retinal imaging that "didn't take" after several attempts. Pause, now, as she needs to go take another customer out of the exam room. I'm sitting, patiently, basically blind without my glasses, but notice she picks my current pair up from the desk and hands them to the departing customer. When she returns, she looks frantically for my glasses because she just had them and was going to retry the scanning. When I told her she'd handed them to the exiting customer, she said she had not and continued tapping on the desk and looking around. Finally, after a second mention that they were handed out, she went to the front of the store where the woman, in fact, had realized the error and was walking back with them. I've not even reached the part that blew my mind. It's a virtual exam viewed in a screen with someone in a call center with other people chatter in the background. The tech swung the machine in front of my face and the virtual exam began. The "doctor" (I believe he said his name was Jared) started his spiel and even when my answers weren't what he wanted he continued to drone his scripted lines. When the viewing lenses were fogged and I literally could not see the letters presented, I asked to stop and leaned back from the viewing machine, he didn't skip a beat, kept asking "is 1 or 2 clearer"? Neither, I'm not even looking through the lenses. "No problem, your prescription is being printed". Lamest thing I've ever been scammed into thinking was an eye exam in my whole life. The tech said something about some people just don't like new technology. I'm all for properly used technology, but this was bogus. The tech also said something about not seeing any better with a new prescription. Great. I went in knowing my prescription would be higher and expecting a higher cost to cover that, but did not expect a BOGO $79 with free eye exam to tally up to over $450. Same day glasses, not really in the realm of happening for even single vision/ simple glasses, and now I wait a couple of weeks and hope that besides learning a costly lesson, I'll be able to see after the questionable exam. My advice: research deep before falling for something like this.

Beware

I went in for an eye exam for glasses and contacts. First of all, you deal with "technicians" and not doctors. I was given an eye exam and was supposed to be fitted for contacts for presbyopia. I told the technician what worked before and asked to try those contacts. After waiting for them to come in, I was given the wrong contacts. When I called to let them know what the problem was, they ordered new contacts which were also wrong. The problem seems to be that the "technicians" are uneducated on what they are doing so I paid the price. I asked for a refund on the contact exam since they did not do it properly and prescribe the correct lenses, but they refused. I would definitely recommend staying away from this place.

Scam Artists

Really unhappy with my experience here. I went in for the advertised $79 dollar deal for two pairs and free eye exam. (THIS IS BOGUS. YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY ATLEAST $300)
The lady that ran the first part of my eye test was very sweet, honestly the only good part about my visit. I go into the eye exam and the doctor isn't in the office, its a video call. I had told him multiple times on each eye that what I was seeing was blurry. When I got my results back it says my left eye was 20/20 still, which makes no sense to me.
I eventually sit down with the salesperson and I show him the two glasses I wanted to get. I opted for 2 for $139 as I didn't like any of the $79 dollar styles. He then says "okay, so before discounts it would have been $870, but don't worry we got it down to $560. UM EXCUSE ME, WHAT???? I say I can't do that and I have to settle on a single pair of glasses and end up paying $270 because the salesman kept pressuring me with addons that "I needed". I see online that they have a bogo offer that is good for glasses and lenses, why was I not offered this??
I also reiterated many times that I needed to make sure they help with my astigmatism because driving at night has become horrendous for me. They glasses do not make a lick of difference.
There are much, much cheaper options online.

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE! Be careful, extremely careful, about their "sale/promo"! It's a lie!! $400 later! Eyeglasses are NOT ready in 30 minutes! Also, I was told by their employee that my glasses would be ready for pick up in a week. Lmao!! I called yesterday and was put on hold for over 20 minutes. THEN, some agent, who did NOT work at the Anderson SC location, told me that my order was arriving today 03/27/25! Are you sure of the year? Did you mean next year?! Uhhhhh, so why does your website show that my order is in process and will not be ready until 03/05/25!?!?! WHAT A JOKE!!!

Don't go! Read reviews first!!

Very misleading, unhelpful, and dishonest regarding the best or most cost effective way to go in regards to their "deals" or insurance. Ended up paying $200.00 for frames and waiting 2 weeks for pickup, just to go back 2 days later because the frames are coming apart. They inform me that oh, thats normal wear and tear, I had only worn them for maybe 4 hours! They "tightened/reshaped" them for me and told me my head was just so small that I'd probably continue to have this issue. Then one woman mentions they can restyle me and get different frames, I decide to do that, of course I have another 2 weeks to wait for the new frames. Later that day the frames they "fixed" are now so uncomfortable and painful I can't wear them and again feel like they are about to fall apart. Staff is very unhelpful and don't have a clue what they're doing. I am going back tomorrow and requesting a full refund and will go somewhere else. Not to mention the exam with the Dr on a TV was ridiculous I have a feeling the prescription is incorrect can't confirm that at the moment but I do plan on getting another exam done. The Dr was very hard to understand because of his accent. Overall horrible experience! Don't make the same mistake I did, read the reviews first! I wish I had! UPDATE I went to Eyemart Express/ The Eye Pros on March 3 they did a much better exam and the prescriptions were way off!! I got my new glasses with the correct prescription, I can actually see now, and I got my new glasses in less than an hour!! I don't know how Stanton stays in business, do yourself a favor and stay away!

Complete waste of money

Complete waste of money. Internet exam doesn't work at all; many questions unanswered, and I had to figure out how to use equipment. In-person exam also confusing and I seemed to know more about how to use the equipment, which is bad, because I know nothing.

Poorest service imaginable.

Poorest, eyewear company I have ever dealt with. Finished product was shipped to a branch in a different state, but they called me to come pick up glasses, of course the local franchise, had no idea what I was talking about. I showed the girl behind the counter the message from Stanton, saying to pick up glasses. Finally figured out what was going on, the shipped them UPS. But not overnight or anything just like regular mail. long story short, what should have been a week wait on eyewear, has turned into 21/2-3 week wait. Would not recommend to anybody.

Stanton Optical Denton Texas…

I went to the location in Denton Texas in Razor Ranch (unsure of store number) on February 21,2025. I didn’t have an appointment but was seen anyway. These guys are the best, from the time I walked in to the time I was done I felt welcomed the entire time. They do a hybrid eye exam ( never had one like this )!not only was it fast but the tech doing the exam was amazing. I walked out with two pairs of glasses and trial pair of contacts. These folks are AMAZING!!! Sorry the location isn’t an option

Staff is VERY inexperienced

Staff is VERY inexperienced. A bunch of twenty year olds who are more interested in hanging out and spreading gossip. The screws they installed on my brand new glasses are so sharp they cut my finger. The technician said that there was nothing she could do about it. And she scratched the frame. The are also very expensive. They claim to offer less expensive frames but all the had where ugly green frames and there most basic lenses are still expensive. Do not go here you’ll regret it.
