I love sondermind.

I have a therapist and a psychiatrist through sondermind and although I have just recently started, I like them both a lot. They are both very friendly and very easy to talk to. I have no problem sharing anything. They are both professional and very good at their job.
Sondermind is a great company as I get reminders of my appointments and they have games in the app that help to calm your mind. They also have more things in the app to help you meditate or journal etc...
I definitely like the company so far and its covered by my insurance completely.

Save your money, don't bother.

Complete waste of time. Can't be bothered to correctly bill insurance and just sends nastygram emails demanding payments being resolved for their mistakes. Practically extorsion.
Tried for an entire year on and off different drugs or whatever. Convenience of video appointments only matters when you can still get through their little portal.
Provider was fine enough but everything always felt rushed.
That's what I get for just trying to get better mentally. Wasted time and money and nothing changes.

Therapist Great, Administration/Billing Incompetent

Let me first start by saying that I LOVE my therapist. She is helpful and knowledgeable. That is the only reason I gave any stars at all. Unfortunately, the administration for Sondermind is awful. My insurance coded something incorrectly and so I was charged money when I shouldn't have been. It shouldn't have been a big issue. This was not Sondermind's fault, however, they have no phone number for billing help or customer service and when I emailed I just kept getting responses back that made it clear that they had not reviewed my case and they made me act as a middle man calling my insurance company daily for more and more information just to prove I owed them nothing. It would have been one simple phone call, but instead was weeks of chasing my tail while their administration just pushed their work off on me even though it was more difficult for me to access the information. Meanwhile they sent threatening emails daily telling me if I didn't pay them, I'd be blocked from appointments and sent to collections. My insurance company tried to contact them to resolve the issue multiple times in multiple ways and they were unapologetic that there was no way to contact them except waiting days for an email which the insurance can't do. I sent information to them day after day and they told me one thing they needed per email, prolonging the whole issue. My representitive was rude, dismissive and unhelpful. The whole process was a waste of my time. If I was this incompetent when it came to my work, people would die. It's disgusting that we have no recourse when it comes to these lazy administrators who like to get paid to sit around writing unhelpful passive aggressive emails.

My therapist is fantastic

My therapist is fantastic. However, this constant data collection on the part of Sondermind is annoying. The process of therapy does not invoke instant results that can be recorded and quantified. You deliver a valuable service, but understand your corporate mentality of obtaining immediate results is a deterrent.

I was charged over $200 for a session I believed was canceled. I even received an email from SonderMind stating that the therapist had canceled the appointment. When I reached out to support, they insisted the session took place but were unable to provide any clear evidence or explanation. The lack of transparency and accountability left me frustrated and concerned. I expected better communication and billing practices from a mental health provider. I hope SonderMind takes steps to improve how they handle situations like this.

Never got to see a counselor. They ignored all my messages and questions for 2.5 weeks

Never got to see a counselor. NOT ONE PERSON RESPONDED OR ANSWERED any of my 6-7 messages I sent them in over 2.5 weeks. NOT ONE. All the bad reviews are true that Sondermind never returns messages and you are all about money that the VA gives you. Sondermind, you all should be ashamed for ignoring potential clients. I have made phone calls too and the employee named Bella sent an email to a counselor who completely ignored me. What a way to make more people have depression and trauma for you not to answer one message. I called the VA and asked them to give me another counseling company. You have the worst customer service and you ignore veterans.

Sondermind absolutely sucks

This company quite frankly doesn't even deserve one star. I had care from 3 different therapists last year and they all seemed to be unfit to provide therapy services. It felt like more of a space for me to vent and then have them ask me if I felt "better"... There was not one therapist who asked me to dig deeper into things, and one even cared more about the drama between my family members than actually helping me cope with that drama.

My last therapy session was in early November of 2024, and there were no outstanding balances on my account from any session, as the money got pulled from my bank account a few days after each session. These therapists were also ALL within network for my insurance.

in April of 2025 I get emailed saying I am going to be charged over $500.00 for the total of the sessions because "something happened" with my insurance. I contacted my insurance and they assured me that all therapists I had were in network, and that everything seemed fine on their end.

I"ve been trying since APRIL to get these charges removed as I've already paid my dues, and NOT ONE representative has been able to help me. My issue has been getting "escalated" for the last 3 months and I have not received ONE single email back, until yesterday when the payment they were charging me for was missed. Suddenly I got an email back within 2 hours, and still, they said nothing about handling my issue further. Also, when your issue is "escalated" it takes 14 business days to get handled, but regular emails get handled within 8 days. HUH????

I have threatened to take legal action, and I absolutely will be doing so if this company can't get their shit together and resolve my issue soon.

If you are thinking of joining Sondermind, don't. It's a waste of money, time, energy, and effort. They care more about your dollars than actually providing you with the mental care that you may need.

I"m shocked and utterly disgusted by this company of some of their therapists.

Veteran with PTSD here

Veteran with PTSD here. I inquired this company to get therapy and help. Therapist cancelled my first meeting. Second meeting the video won’t work. She says she was waiting for me to join the session. Mine said the same thing. Rescheduled and spoke to her through messages. No show on the third meeting. Will not respond to my messages. Even left my phone number. Terrible app. Terrible customer service. Moving on. Will not use them again. Be better…

Great expereince!

Great experience so far I was a little nervous but quickly found a safe space to share. Found a perfect match to a great therapist first go of it so I'm very hopeful.

The therapist is fine

The therapist is fine
I checked with my ins. Company and Sondermind , which takes my insurance. HAD 2 APPTS. I am being charged full price and they are holding my Credit card hostage. You cannot contact billing except through a message. No matter what you say they send a robot message telling you to contact your ins. co. I already had done that and stated so in my message to them. They still after 3 weeks have not responded and are now charging me. So much for helping people. They are causing stress. I gave tried 3 times to contact them . They also have a high percentage of complaints with the BBB. STAY AWAY.
