Mixed bag this time. Good support pre sale. I picked a power station that was in stock to get it to my family in Cuba as quickly as possible, passing up the more expensive units that were going to be a couple weeks delayed. The solar panels and accessories shipped quickly but after 3 weeks the Pecron power station had not. I messaged support and they promised to email an update but after 3 days… nothing. I finally emailed customer relations and the unit shipped that day. No idea what the problem was. But my family has to live with power only an hour a day for an extra 3 weeks. But I think my case is an exception

I spent over a year researching what system would work for what I needed. Each time I called for information (which was often) I would talk to someone different but get the same great service and accurate informative answers. Knowledgeable people that worked to fill my needs not their order quotas, if they even have any.

Excellent price, excellent communication, and exactly the product I was looking for. My Ryobi lawn mower seemed like a waste of money after I realized it had lead acid batteries and I could no longer mow my lawn two years after getting it because the batteries were toast. This kit is a welcome rescue of that investment.

Called twice and wrote 3 times requesting update, was told the item was actually not in stock and still in China. called back again was told item cleared customs a week ago but still no order movement. wrote an email a week ago but no follow up

Even with my technical background there were still many questions needing guidance, I.E. why one battery over another battery both having similar storage and output capabilities. I made a list and in one call all questions were answered as well as guidance on question I did not think to ask. I left the call ready to order, and in fact ordered my system.

I hate to write a bad review, but ShopSolar.com completely deserves one from me.

In May 2025, I purchased an off-grid solar kit for over $18,000, which included 24 solar panels, batteries, and an inverter. The batteries and inverter arrived well-packed and appeared to be in good condition. However, the panels arrived later the same day, and that’s where the problems began.

The panels were haphazardly stacked on a pallet and held together only with stretch wrap—no protective materials like plywood, foam, cardboard, or corner guards. The top panel was completely exposed. At first glance, I didn’t see obvious damage, but when I unpacked them the next day, I quickly began spotting serious issues.

All 24 panels had dents, scrapes, or gouges in the frames. Several had deep scratches in the glass. Two panels were completely shattered, showing multiple impact points. Others had micro-cracks, glass scarring, and even damage to the back side, where the solar cell material was visibly gouged and peeling (delaminating).

I took detailed photos and contacted ShopSolar immediately. Their rep was initially responsive and asked for additional documentation, which I provided. The issue was escalated to management. But after a few days, I was told the claim was denied following a “thorough investigation”—because I had signed the delivery receipt without noting visible damage.

That reasoning is unacceptable. The root issue is not shipping damage—the panels were not properly packaged, and the worst damage was clearly pre-shipment. In other words, ShopSolar knowingly shipped me damaged panels, and now they’re refusing to take responsibility. For the record, these were sold as new, unused panels—not used or refurbished.

I'm extremely disappointed. As far as I can tell, the inverter and batteries are fine, but I can’t even test them because the panels are unsafe, and would pose a serious fire risk if used. I was planning to order racking from them as well, but that is completely off the table.

I am challenging their denial, and if they make it right, I will amend this review. But as it stands, I strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere.

Three years ago I set up my Homestead using shop solar kits. I thought they were my friend. I was terribly wrong. They set me up with a kit using SLA batteries, 12 of them for my completely off grid home. They set me up with 12 panels and 12 batteries to handle their own recommended Mister cool mini split This is grossly under done. My whole house generator is costing me more than 3,600 a year in propane. SLA batteries are normally getting about 800 to 1,000 Cycles. They are toast after 3 years. The alternative batteries that I have now purchased along with a new inverter and controller are lithium ion batteries with a 15-year warranty and approximately 8,000 Cycles. This company doesn't know what they're doing. I'm 73 years old and retired and I just lost $15,000 because of their ineptitude. Never never ever deal with them. They're a bunch of commission salesmen hoping for the best, when I called their technicians over and over I could barely understand what they said and when they tried to troubleshoot my system it was obvious that they were ducking and dodging. You should never use or sell that crappy of a system. 800 Cycles last for 3 years or less and then you have a $6,000 battery replacement bill. This outfit sucks they do what they want in order to get their commissions. I just replaced the entire system for $15,000 because they felt sorry for me. I have 36 panels, 248 batteries, and a real system. Shop solar kits sucks. I wish I had the 15 grand back
