Horrible customer service after receiving incorrect items
On Wednesday, 6/25, I purchased the Set Stripe towel bundle to bring on a trip over the Fourth of July weekend. The original shipping quote was 5-9 days, but it actually arrived in just two days — yay! — on Saturday, 6/28. However, I was disappointed to discover that Sand Cloud sent me the incorrect towels. I instead received the Pearl Dream bundle, which is not my style at all.
I immediately reached out to their customer service team via email and via the form on their site. After two days, I heard nothing, so I decided to reach out using their chat feature on Monday 6/30.
Unsurprisingly, the chat feature is just an AI bot and I had to prompt it with "Speak to an agent" several times before I was able to speak to an actual person. Upon speaking to an agent, it was very obvious to me that they are overseas and do not speak English very well. They appeared to be using a translator tool, which would not be an issue at all if they actually provided decent customer service.
I told the first agent (we'll call them Agent A) what happened: I received the wrong order, was ignored via email and form fill, and would like to receive a replacement. First, Agent A told me that Sand Cloud would not send my replacement items until the incorrect items were already in the mail. As I mentioned above, these towels were ordered for a trip, therefore I was expecting to have them by a certain date. I thought it was ridiculous that they expect me to ship back the items that they incorrectly sent before they would process my replacement order.
Finally, after some back and forth, Agent A says that they can process my replacement order and that I will have 30 days to send back the incorrect towels. Still annoyed I have to go out of my way to send them back, but whatever. Agent A also said they would put in a request express shipping for my replacement order.
After 24 hours, I didn't get a shipping notification, so I decided to reach out to a second agent on Tuesday, 7/1. We'll call them Agent B. I explained my situation to Agent B, who then told me my replacement order ship and sent me the tracking number. However, the tracking number Agent B sent me was the tracking number for the items *I* need to send back to Sandcloud, not the tracking number for the items Sandcloud has to send to me. Agent B told me my tracking number should be received within 24 hours.
So, after another 24 hours, I decided to reach out to an agent again on Wednesday, 7/2. I had to explain my entire situation AGAIN to an overseas agent, who continually sent me a copy/paste response saying "The tracking information is not yet updated. Kindly allow 24 to 48 hours for us to provide with the same information."
I started to wonder if wires were getting crossed somewhere and if Agent A was incorrect, so I asked Agent C if I need to ship back the incorrect items before I would receive the correct items. They said no, I would still get the correct items and that the "correct item is being expedited already."
Meanwhile, I still haven't gotten a response to my customer service email or form inquiry. The only reason I've gotten this "service" is because I had to reach out myself.
The towels I received do feel really nice, and I look forward to getting my replacement. (Hopefully, I will actually receive it eventually.) But based on this experience, I doubt I will order Sand Cloud again because they have made zero effort to fix their mistake. Which is too bad, because I was seriously considering buying the cloud pattern Party Blanket!
So, TLDR:
-Sand Cloud sends incorrect towels
-I receive no response from their customer service team
-I then have to speak to three different agents
-After 48 hours, my replacement still hasn't shipped
-They're making me drop off the incorrect items
-I won't have them in time for my trip

Received damaged fraying towels
Received damaged fraying towels. This is the 2nd round of damaged towels we have received. The support response is very slow to begin with and no resolution has been done. I am no longer receiving any sort of response. I really love these towels and the mission of the company. The quality and customer service issues make me no longer want to support them which is a shame.

Love, love Sand Cloud blankets! The most beautiful prints available in so many sizes and colors. I use them as covers to protect furniture from my cat, as a lightweight blanket on my bed, at the beach(of course!), out by the pool, or a light wrap. Keep up the great job!

Placed an order and expected rapid turn around time, per thenwebsite of 4-5 days. Shipping was delayed due to a recent ongoing sale. Delivery was also delayed. I had ordered these towels as a gift for family for their beach vacation. The towels arrived after they had already gone home. Highly disappointed. I have other sand cloud products, so there is no issue with the product. Just lack of communication.

Even My Picky Husband Likes Them!!

Main purchase missing from my bag…

Quality control needs to step it up.
I love my cover up. However, quality control is skipping a beat. There is a hole along the seam between the pocket and slit and if I didn’t have poor eyesight or arthritis I’d sew it but can’t. I don’t know anyone who can. I do want it fixed so it won’t get worse.
