Wanted to share my bad experience(s)...

Wanted to share my bad experience(s) with Rothman Orthopedic. I only went to the location in New York City on Madison Ave.

I started going almost a year ago due to a running injury. The doctor was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable, though I will say that while she was not pushy about prescribing prescription drugs, she was insistent on it despite me telling her I wanted to avoid them at all costs. I’m still to this day not sure how that would have helped that particular injury as well. I did not give in to this, however.

I ended up suffering some unrelated injuries not long after. One of those was a meniscus tear in my knee so I ultimately continued seeing this doctor. It was ultimately suggested to me to try VISCO shots to aid this injury, which she said may or may not help. After seeing multiple other orthopedic doctors (surgeons), they all confirmed that VISCO shots would have been of no help at all and would have been a waste of time and resources (this requires a lot of ongoing treatment). I realize that doctors are going to have differing opinions with regard to certain injuries, but this seemed like a gigantic miss based on what I was told from others.

To make matters worse, after every visit since I began coming to Rothman, the front desk personnel had told me I was all set and did not owe any co-pay. Every single time. This continued for many months as visits racked up. Then randomly, about 8-9 months later, I received a huge bill of copays for all of my visits. Disappointed with receiving a surprise bill, I sent an email to the CEO Christopher Olivia to voice my displeasure. I didn’t receive a bounce back message, so he most certainly received it. Afterwards? Crickets. Not only was there no response from him (my message was sent in May), but he either didn’t forward it to someone so they could respond or he did and they didn’t reach out to me.

If the CEO and the people at the top don’t care, why would anyone else at this company? My advice is to avoid this place if you have other options. There are surely better ones, at least in NYC.

Surgery on my knee,Rothman in Marlon,NJ…

Surgery on my knee,Rothman in Marlon,NJ rt 73 I was told I should've been in PT (physical therapy ) within 72 hours. The hack Dr Matthew pepe failed to do so, I have burn makes on my leg, no post op x-ray. Now I have a permanent bend on right knee. Plzz reconsider another doctor. Or Rothman all together.
