We love our chicken coop it’s simple, sturdy, and exactly what we needed. The design is sleek but still feels cozy and secure for our hens. Assembly was pretty straightforward and took about 3 hours total. Our four hens fit perfectly and have plenty of room. If you’re getting the extended run part, I highly recommend adding the second roof it’s worth it for the extra coverage and cleaner look, definitely need to get the waterer, stakes and the winter panels

Happy new batch of chickens in their new coop!
Roost and Root was always responsive and helpful regarding questions and issues! I love that all of the hardware and tools required for construction are included in a nice divided case. For the most part, the instructions were extremely clear, easy to follow and entertaining at times. The model that I purchased has not been out very long and I did have a few issues with the pre-drilled hole positioning and also getting the roof panels to align properly, but Customer Service was fabulous and sent me replacement parts and pieces as well as talking me through correcting the problems.

Overall the coop is very nice and receives many compliments. It wasn't hard to put together per se just time consuming. It would definitely have been harder without 2 people. Some issues like one of the egg doors not opening, and the braces on the roof being a struggle to fit, but overall everything more or less came together. I did not need any new parts sent and the team was responsive to the questions I had.

Happy chickens in Florida
The company was easy to communicate with and helpful with information. They communicated when the coop shipped from Texas and would arrive in Florida. Drop off at the house was very easy and quick.
My son and a neighbor put it together it took two days just 4 hours each day. I prepared the foundation and predator wire.
The cedar is very nice and solid plus I don’t have to treat the wood or paint it. Interior is roomy enough for the 4 chickens. The roost bars are short (a defect) and we need to add some blocks of wood to fill the gaps or I might add a long roost bar higher then stagger the shorts ones so they can hop up. The space inside the roost /nest area is a little difficult to work in. Maybe less little doors and one larger one for better access. The walk in round top coop is sturdy with easy access for me to feed and water. I’m going to use the storage shelf for an extra place for the chickens to nest since I have ample storage nearby. The hardware is nice. Air flow to the coop is very good since it’s hot and humid in Florida. I’m also attaching a cage run behind the coop for additional ground space.
I wish I’d bought the XL one now as there wasn’t that much difference in the price.
Suggestion for how to put it together videos for each section, maybe scan the code, In the instructions? The small roost bars need work. Instead of the storage shelf extra roosting area. And a single door access to the roosting area since there’s access to nesting boxes from outside. This would make it easier to work and clean.

We did an assembly from your batch of Stand Up coops without a roost bar issue. The way we produce them it set up for them to be all correct or all incorrect.

Quality control needs to be tightened up
My coop arrived with one piece cracked but with a couple of finishing nails and some wood glue, we had a wonderful family experience assembling our coop for our growing Welsummer chicks. I would buy again but their quality control needs to be tighter.

Kevin showed us the picture you sent along and I can assure you that was a result of shipping damage, not something we decided was acceptable to ship. We use UPS to bring our products from the shop to your door because we believe they are the best in the business. That being said, we do deal with shipping damage and always warranty replacement parts free of charge when what happens. We have made a note in your order to the make sure we warranty the damaged A5 due to shipping. If at any point your glue and staples fail, please reach out to us.

Great Quality and Value
This is our first foray into chicken raising and there are a lot of choices for a coop online. The ones that are less than $500 are cute, but their quality cannot be that good. This coop impressed me with its quality construction and materials - the white cedar and hardware cloth are very durable. It was pretty straightforward to put assemble, only one damaged piece that was quickly fixed with glue and a screw, no show stoppers! What impresses me now that it is built is how wide the structure is. We have 8 chickens and they can move around with ease. I would suggest an enclosure over this coop to give them additional roaming space. This is very high quality and well designed, please consider.
