Completely disappointed in their business policy

I’m sure this dentist office would have been great but didn’t give us a chance. (Note: The receptionists we talked to was nice and tried to fight for us- so nothing towards them) My husband and I travel and are not home much and wanted to get established in a nice dentist office in Terre Haute where we live- this place seemed like it would work-so we made the appointment and in all good intentions was getting our selves ready to go when a medical emergency came up right before we were to go to the appointment, ironically. And unfortunately we had to cancel at least one of the appointments.- however; when things started to get better for us on our medical emergency- we were willing and felt like we could at least make the second appointment -we kept calling the office to keep them up to date what was going on, this whole time, but they told us- that the one whom cancelled first would not be allowed to come back ever- to our dismay- they told us it’s their policy for first-timers that have to cancel- even though it was out of our control we would be forever banned to ever come back! We were shocked!!!! understandably so. So of course we would not go to this dentist office without going together for the future so we decided to cancel the second appointment as well. We were made to feel like criminals- it was quite harsh- we just went thru a medical emergency for heavens sakes!! We feel there should have been some leeway because of our particular situation that was completely out of our control, mind you. I really feel they need to change or at least adjust this policy to be a bit more warmer towards the customer- case by case- not just across the board. So sorry they missed out on some really good customers.
