A long wait

There was a 7 month delay in delivery because a supplier had ceased trading. During that time we had filled out a questionnaire about delivery access etc. When it turned up, it turned out that the main fuse was not adequate. The fuse was changed that afternoon. The following week Skip and Zen brought it back and fitted it and checked it with efficiency and professionalism

Not the high quality item and company I thought I had opted for

I am profoundly disappointed with my Rangemaster Professional + range cooker, specifically the induction hob, which failed after only three years of use. Following a formal complaint, Rangemaster offered a contribution towards the repair. However, after incurring a £400 cost for assessment and repair by their recommended company, their contribution amounted to a mere £18 – less than 1% of the item's original cost. This experience, coupled with similar issues reported in other reviews regarding their induction hobs, highlights a concerning pattern of poor product longevity and inadequate customer support. I strongly advise against purchasing from Rangemaster and recommend exploring alternative brands that offer more durable appliances and genuinely supportive after-sales service.

Spoke to Ben…

Spoke to Ben requesting some very specific details on a couple of range cookers, he was very knowledgeable and answered very quickly.

Poor quality cooker and appalling repair service

Keeping this brief - our Rangemaster cooker literally went "pop" at the end of January while still under warranty. Their service partner Pacifica was unreliable and uncommunicative but eventually "fixed the fault" in early March. Up till then we only had 2 hobs working. However they had not diagnosed the fault correctly and someone came back on 20th March. It took until the end of April to finally fix it properly - by which time we'd had a faulty cooker for about 3 months.
One of the side effects of the fault was that the control knobs were deformed. A new set was ordered on 7th Feb and they still have not arrived about 5 months later.
We have been in constant contact with Aga Rangemaster and Pacifica throughout and for the last month with Rangemaster's "Executive Office" - whatever that means as it appears the EO have are not capable of sourcing 5 knobs for a current cooker.
It's hard to be constructive and what needs to be done is self evident.
We know two other people with new Rangemaster cookers that have gone wrong within the warranty period. It would seem the quality of Rangemaster products has deteriorated over the recent past and they are resting on an old reputation.

And it continues….

Please, be careful! Go with a different manufacturer!
We’ve previously been massive advocates of Rangemaster. Owning their range cookers in 2 of our previous homes.
How things change!!
We ordered our Rangemaster Professional 100 on the 29th November 2024. Yes 7 months ago! And, we’re still waiting! We’ve had our due date pushed back 6 times and I’m certain this will continue.
We were full of excitement as our new kitchen was fitted and the cooker was due to take centre stage.
Instead, the kitchen is unfinished (worktop companies ask that appliances are in place prior to measuring and fitting) and a void sits where the cooker should be.
With 2 young children to cater for, a kitchen without worktops and less than adequate cooking facilities, I can honestly say the last 7 months have been some of the toughest. Yet Rangemaster don’t care, they fob us off with fictional date after fictional date.
I never write reviews but what Rangemaster are doing must be highlighted. Don’t make the same mistake as us.
UPDATE:
More fictional dates!!! Marie got in touch and confirmed our cooker would be with us by the end of June. Well guess what?!? It’s the 30th June and still no cooker! Lie after lie after lie.
UPDATE 2:
It finally arrived 7 months and 1 week after we placed the order. Was it worth the wait? I wish I could say yes but unfortunately not!! (I will try and add the images)….
There’s a bubble/flaw in the tall stainless steel oven door and a scratch on the handle.
The same door hasn’t been fitted correctly (misaligned and the hinge washer is hanging off).
Bizarrely, there are also shards of glass in base of the other oven, along with one random screw lying around.
Oh, and the wok cradle is missing!
You honestly couldn’t make this up, it’s unbelievable.

When I initially heard about the delays, my concern was that in a rush to catch up, quality assurance would go out of the window. It looks as though I was right!
I wonder how long this will now take to be sorted.

Brilliant advice

Rob (Development Engineer) has been amazingly helpful on several occasions. Spare parts for the Fridge/Freezer DXD 910 are difficult to identify, as the exploded parts diagrams are almost indecipherable, and a small cheap item can save having to abandon a very expensive and otherwise brilliant unit. He has come up trumps and saved the day again! He is very patient and knowlegeable. 5 stars *****

Reply from Rangemaster

Hi Steve,

I am sorry if you were unhappy with our reply. It was not our intention to disappoint you.

The query related to the power supply needed for a specific appliance and I can see the agent did confirm the minimum needed was a 32amp supply and the maximum would be 45amp. We do refer you to your electrician to confirm the requirements you need as they will be able to confirm your options based on the connections you have available and what is needed for the cooker.

If your electrician would like to discuss the options then he can call our service centre and speak with our Technical Team.

Best Wishes
Marie

Great Service

I have ordered a Rangemaster cooker that isn't available until October, so I contacted them to ask if there was a way of sending me a sample of the colour as this can look slightly different on-screen, and I needed to pre-match the new kitchen cabinets before the arrival of the cooker. I used online chat and had a great result communicating with a human, and they are able to send me a colour sample. Great service.

This is my 3rd Rangemaster cooker, because I have moved house 3 times in the last 50 years, and I am pleased with the product and the service.

Disappointing to receive my new cooker with parts missing but this was no trouble for Ben who sorted everything out quickly and efficiently. I've been assured new parts are on the way. Thank you so much Ben.
