Sick kitten with heart disease

It's taken me a long time to write this because I honestly didn't want to waste additional energy thinking about all the issues. However, I received a promotional email from this company today about what sets them apart and needed to share my experience. I purchased my kitten in 2021. I used a local breeder for my first and was hesitant to purchase from a cat broker for my second. Nevertheless, I couldn't stop thinking about this kitten and went against my gut and purchased him. They seem to have made updates to their policies since then, but at the time there was essentially no health guarantee, particularly for HCM. I knew this was a red flag and still ignored it. Initial communication was fine and I received my kitten; however, he had THREE infections within two days of arrival (calicivirus, bordetalla, and mycoplasma which takes at least 6 weeks on antibiotics to clear!) as well as an ear infection. This resulted in quarantining this kitten for 2.5 months before his PCR tested clear and he could be introduced to my other cat. Imagine the stress that put on our family. Mari did not respond when I informed her about the infections (I didn't even complain; I simply stated that the breeder and she should know especially since these kittens are in contact with each other) and she never sent his "pedigree" paperwork as promised despite asking twice (I was left on read in text). My kitten also evidenced a heart murmur early on, which led me to getting him an echocardiogram where he was diagnosed with HOCM 6 months after receiving him. While I understand there is not a foolproof way to guarantee a cat won't have this diagnosis, there are measures that can be taken to ensure the breeding cats are clear of it. If you read other reviews, you'll see other kittens also had health issues. A reputable breeder will scan annually and give you a guarantee for the first several years of life. Furthermore, you have no idea who the breeder in Ukraine is nor the care that is received. I contacted the stateside vet (Old Ridge) that "clears" the kittens and they don't even have records. Lastly, I made an objective comment in their Facebook group simply stating that I chose to have my own testing done (in response to someone who was inquiring about it) because there is always an inherent risk in purchasing a cat coming from another country and not knowing the breeder and was promptly blocked from the group and on Instagram (RED FLAG). Why censor your buyers from sharing an honest, objective thought? I love my cat and I'm glad he came to me since I am an informed owner and have been able to provide him the care he needs for his heart disease, which has cost thousands of dollars given his ongoing care with a cardiologist and daily medication. Nevertheless, I cannot recommend others use this company to purchase their kitten. I strongly suggest finding a local breeder with great reviews, comprehensive testing and health guarantees built into the purchase price.

We also provide personalized Adoption Specialist support, and every customer has access to real-time communication, video previews, and a scam-protection guarantee.

Hello, kitten was sent covered in fleas and ticks. Kitten also had green discharge from his eyes and unexplained blue dye to his fur around his private areas. Kittens eyes were closed shut on the second day requiring an ER visit. I repeatedly asked for documentation, informing the team that I was at the ER. I was informed days later that it was attached to the crate; however, it provided minimal information.
Diarrhea was reported prior to kitten departure, no information was given on clinical diagnosis. Kitten presented with continuing diarrhea and required deworming immediately. The company made little effort in involving new owner in choose of airport, day, or time. A text message was provided and it was assumed that new owner would find a way to pick up kitten; regardless of informing company that personal circumstances, work, and a 2 hour drive prevent new owner from picking up kitten prior to airport closing. No communication was provided on the day kitten was set for departure, nor did company ensure that the kitten was picked up safely. The kitten appeared unkempt and covered in dirt. It was clear that the kitten was neglected. An unfortunate amount of money was spent to ensure kittens health; however, the kitten is now highly loved and has been rescued from a very dangerous and unfortunate process that I fear is occurring to many other kittens sold by PureBred Kitties. While reviews ensured the legitimacy of the company prior to purchasing kitten, I believe further investigation is needed.

All kittens today are thoroughly vet-checked, dewormed, and documented before travel, and come with a health guarantee and secure travel arrangements.

Updated protocols require full documentation to be shared digitally and reviewed with clients prior to travel.

We offer Adoption Specialist support to personalize airport selection, travel timing, and safe handoffs—but we understand this was not your experience, and we apologize.
