Absolute worst warranty and customer…
Absolute worst warranty and customer service I’ve ever experienced!
I purchased a cabinet smoker for around $500 in August, 2024. In November, the ignition stopped working. After calling PitBoss, they sent me a replacement ignition switch with instructions on how to change the part.
I was unable to get to the switch, as it appears to be on the bottom somewhere under all the coverings. I stripped several screws trying to access the switch. I finally threw my hands up and said this is impossible! I called back, letting them know the problem I was having and they said I have to go back to Lowe’s for additional support or request a return authorization.
I spent a great deal of time with Lowe’s trying to get a return authorization, but PitBoss never cared to respond to the manager’s request.
*BUYER BE-WARE”!! PITBOSS HAS A “LIMITED” WARRANTY THAT ONLY COVERS PARTS! THEY WILL NOT REPARE OR REPLACE THE UNIT FOR YOU!
If you want a smoker, but also want quality service and a REAL warranty, shop Traeger!
Do yourself a favor and do business with a company that cares about its customers and not just profit margins!!

Don’t waste your money
Well, after reading couple of reviews, it seems like everybody has the same issue buying a grill from Walmart and the grill was pretty much falling apart within a year and a half, this is a worthless….
$600-$700 grill that I would not last in less than a year. It will be damaged they use cheap material and everything gets rusted pretty much in less than a year. Don’t waste your money……
Call customer service and all they do is wash their hands. Unbelievable.

Would give 0/5 stars if I could, bought an onyx Austin XL at Walmart. Took about 3-4 hrs to set up when the instructions said 45 mins. The parts weren’t really aligning well, but still managed to put it together. Come to find out there is a crack in the weld on the side of the barrel. Makes it useless. Pit boss would not make it right instead they said I would have to take it back to the store. The grate in the middle came broke as well, would not recommend this company at all.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
This is now the SECOND PitBoss smoker that has crapped the bed. I got a PB Sportsman. Vertical smoker 2 years ago and after one season the auger completely shut down. Ended up selling that one to a buddy who likes to fix things up. I made the stupid mistake last June to get another PB Copperhead Vertical Smoker. We were extremely diligent with this one, cleaning it after ever use, keeping it covered between uses, and storing it in a heated garage. Went to go use it last weekend and once again all the pellets had turned to mush and locked up in the auger shoot. I just spent over 500 dollars on this one so I called their 800 number for assistance and before I was done explaining I was rudely cut off and said “this is a you problem, not a PB problem”. No joke, those are her EXACT words, I told her this smoker had been very well taken care of and she continued to tell me it was user error. She told me that with high humidity it can affect the pellets, to which I said, I live in northern Minnesota, we barely have humidity. She then said if it wasn’t covered properly, which I said it was cleaned and covered after every use. She then went with the outdoor elements, which again I informed her unless it was in use, it was covered in a heated garage. So finally she said if you don’t removed all the pellets after each use this can happen!?!? So wtf in then point of putting such a large protected hopper on it, and where in the directions does it say to empty out the pellets after EVERY SINGLE USE. Even if I wanted to take the time to try and fix this, I have to pay for all the replacement parts (even though it’s technically still under warranty). I am telling you right now, I read reviews and thought “oh they are just overreacting or they did something wrong” PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do yourself a favor and walk away from these terrible smokers and even worse customer service!

Pitbull grills does not stand behind his product
off the phone with a rep from Pit Boss grills. He wanted to send a heating element for me to replace it in a smoker that was used once. It doesn't heat up. The drip pan does not come out. And I told him I was not comfortable doing that due to fire, explosion, etc. He said for me to take it back to tractor supply. It says on the sheet do not take back to the store and yet he says to do that. He wants me to to fix it myself and I said please send somebody out here to do it they said no. So I want a whole new unit that's already put together.i asked his boss, man would not give his name, he said the same thing, back to the store. I have to find a truck to take it back I borrowed a truck to get it to my house. I'm getting the round and round for this for an item that cost over $400. Either sending my money or send me a replacement. They have my name and phone number and a smoker product serial number everything on the file that you just created not 10 minutes ago. This is ridiculous that they think I could install it myself with safety issues. And if I do that and something were to happen I will have my wife sue. So either send me theon the sheet do not take back to the store and yet he says to do that. He wants me to to fix it myself and I said please send somebody out here to do it they said no. I want a whole new unit that's already put together. The I asked for the manager or his boss that man got on the phone would not give me his name, he said the same thing take it back to the store. Disappointed
I purchased the Sportsmans smoker and grill combo. From the beginning, the smoker dries the meat out. Gives you a nice smoke ring and smoke flavor but leaves the meats dry and hard. It does not matter what method you use same results. Smoke at 225 remove and wrap when temp is correct finish smoking and rest. Injection does not help, tray of water in the smoker makes no difference. Smoker seems to be to hot and to dry, friends have similar issues.
Will be purchasing a new smoker/ bar-bq shortly. Ruined quite a few nice Briskets, I'm done.

I am writing to express my extreme…
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service and overall experience I have had with Pit Boss Grills. The events surrounding my purchase, as well as the subsequent customer service interactions, have been beyond disappointing and have left a lasting negative impression on your company.
My wife purchased a Pit Boss grill for me as a Christmas gift, but the lack of communication and transparency regarding shipping completely ruined her holiday. She was informed that the grill would arrive after Christmas. However, two days before Christmas, I witnessed a delivery vehicle unloading the marked grill. This was confusing and upsetting for my wife, as she had been checking the shipping information through the store and received no updates. Adding insult to injury, she later checked your website and discovered that the price of the grill had dropped by $100.
When I assembled the grill, I attempted to use the instructional videos provided on your app, but they were inaccessible and did not work properly. Thankfully, I was able to find videos on YouTube. Once assembled, I discovered that the grill's control board was not functioning correctly. This led to a frustrating series of attempts to contact customer service, which took two days to get through.
While I eventually received a replacement control board, it took an unacceptably long time to arrive, again without any tracking information provided. Unfortunately, this replacement did not resolve the issue. After another round of calls to customer support, I was informed that a heat probe would be sent as a solution. However, five days later, I still had no shipping information and had to follow up again.
During my most recent call, the customer service agent attempted to blame weather conditions for the delay. However, this excuse fell apart when I explained that I live in Florida and the part was shipping from Georgia, where bad weather did not occur until three days after my order. The agent was left without a response, which was both frustrating and unprofessional.
This entire experience has been a nightmare, confirming the concerns my wife had about Pit Boss's reputation for poor customer service. I regret not heeding those warnings. Furthermore, it is disheartening to learn that Pit Boss does not meet the Better Business Bureau's standards for trust.
At this point, I cannot recommend Pit Boss grills to anyone. The combination of poor product quality, lack of communication, and subpar customer service has left me with nothing but a metal box in my backyard that does not work as advertised.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and work to improve the overall customer experience. No one should have to go through what we endured, especially when making a significant purchase.

Negative stars if I could.
bought the copperhead smoker for thanksgiving. It worked one time. Control board went out and has been on back order since. I saw posts from 2021 that control boards were on backorder and they blamed it on covid pandemic. What is the excuse now. I missed using a smoker for 3 Holiday meals now probably miss the Superbowl meal too. After raising hell with customer service they offered me some spices and told me to wait. What good are smoker spices going to do without a smoker. It has been almost 2 months now. By the way the one time I used it on 2 turkeys, they weren't half as good as ones I cooked on a masterbuilt smoker. Don't waste your money.

very bad customer service
I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a Pit Boss Grill. The company’s return policy is a complete nightmare. Once you’ve bought the item, you’re essentially stuck with it, as they do not allow returns without charging you hefty return fees. On top of that, the burden of handling everything—from arranging the return to covering all shipping costs—falls entirely on the customer.
This level of customer service is unacceptable. A company that doesn’t stand behind its products and makes the return process this difficult does not deserve anyone’s business. I strongly urge anyone considering a purchase to look elsewhere. Save yourself the hassle and frustration.

Sterling service!
Reading the poor reviews on your site about Pit Boss grills, I'm astounded. I've had mine for 4-1/2 years, and recently I've had a few issues - the combustion fan stopped, and the firepot has burned through in a few places. I called Pit Boss, they cheerfully and quickly sent the replacement parts at no charge. Then, after replacing the fan, the circuit board went out; I called again and they promptly sent that out, too. No weaseling around, trying to blame the problem on me, or anything like that - just prompt, cheerful service.
I've had nothing but excellent service from them and highly recommend their product.

I placed an order for 2 Rib membrane remover tool on 10-16-2024 for $19.41. Char bed my credit card on 10-16-2024. I have never received the order, it is now 12-05-2024. I was going to purchase a pellet grill, but it will not be from this company. This is a bad company ,stay away from them
