Don't buy
2019 Tacoma
NO CARPLAY but advertised as having carplay. my unit had multiple problems and was professionally installed. My installer had 3 calls with support that required appointments be set. System still was not working. Bluetooth didn't work, usb didn't work. unit would not stay in dash. a/c buttons only worked when they felt like it. 6 days with out my vehicle trying to get the unit working and ultimately had the OEM reinstalled. My cost for labor was $530 and to ship the unit back was another $120 because Phoenix wont pay my shipping for return and want the unit back to decide if they will reimburse me once item is received. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!
I will update again when I get my refund.

Unit was returned to Phoenix and they received on 6/3/25. I finally received a refund after 10 days. They did not refund my return shipping and charged me a $25 restock fee. Total ripoff.

I tried to buy a unit from this company and I get endless emails asking me to submit information about my vehicle, I've given them my VIN a picture of my dash, all of the information they have asked for several times. I paid more money for expedited shipping and it's been several days and they still haven't shipped yet I just want my money back at this point.

Just a SCAM
Nothing but problems!
Wrong instructions provided and I sent dozens of emails over a couple months time, never getting my questions answered, just ambiguous replies. Finally had to get a pro involved and he had to make a mini usb cable to get the screen to turn on. I see all these pics online of this unit with all different colorful images on the screen, mine was absolute basic with no ability to change layout. The screen is too dark to see in daylight and backup camera is useless, cannot brighten screen beyond 83%. Then we found it is android 9, an operating system that was introduced in 2018 and security updates ceased in 2021. While steering wheel controls worked the music, the info display no longer worked. No access to critical vehicle info like oil life, tire pressure, milage or trip. No vehicle settings availabl, cannot change key fob parameter, lights, horn, interior delay, all was lost. Wired carplay cables do nothing, carplay would only work through bluetooth which disconnected the hotspot and left the unit without internet connection. Does a full 2-3 minute boot up, fast boot only works 2-3 times then a full boot happens. Several times the screen turned on in the middle of the night on its own, many times music is playing but the screen is black and only volume works, no other buttons have an affect. Unit constantly tried to connect to my phone when truck was off, had to forget device every time and then pair again. Now its out of their 120 day warranty and they will not refund although its been their fault it took so long with every email I sent taking a week or longer to reply to and then not answering the question. I paid $600 for this junk and a friend bought one from Amazon for $180, it took 15 minutes to install and it has worked flawlessly for 6 months now. Shop around and avoid Phoenix Auto at all cost, such a bad product and customer service is just terrible.

My 13" touchscreen head unit had a glitch and the tech support at phoenix gave me a video call and fixed the issue quickly! I am very happy with this upgrade, particularly have it is designed to fit perfectly matching my factory look and functionality while giving me access to everything you get with a tablet!

Great Support Experience, But One Issue Remained Unresolved
I purchased a Tesla-style screen for my 2017 Infiniti from Phoenix Automotive and had a chance to work with their tech support team. The representative I dealt with was prompt, patient, and respectful throughout the entire process, which I really appreciated.
While the overall support experience was positive, I was disappointed that they were unable to resolve a minor WiFi issue on my device. Despite their best efforts, the problem remained unresolved.
That being said, I still recommend Phoenix Automotive and their products. The quality of the support and the product lineup make them a solid option—just be aware that not every technical issue may have a quick fix.
