Hidden Gem Dog Park

I had my first visit with my puppy this week, it was the first time she'd been off the lead, and absolutely loved it. You have a fantastic facility at Inca Pet Trails, very well laid out and we will be coming back weekly until she has her recall sorted. Thank you.

Reactive 2yr old cockapoo

Our 2yr old dog was very reactive and we wanted to understand if it was fear or aggression. Laura helped us to read this body language, and help him to find an alternative to reacting. She trained us as much as him and we will continue to use all the tools she has given us. Very worthwhile, I feel it has made us better dog owners for both our dogs.

Reactive Daisy is on the right path

Laura worked with our 5 year old rescue dog - Daisy - to help us with her fearful, reactive behaviour. The issues Daisy has are deeply ingrained and will take time to work through but, thanks to Laura, my wife and I now better understand the signals Daisy is giving us and what to do to help her combat her fears on an ongoing basis. In-between times Daisy is visibly a much happier dog demonstrating that Laura has set us on the right path. We are extremely grateful for all Laura’s hard work and professionalism and thoroughly recommend ‘Petmind’.

Freddy & his habits

I have a 6 year old Sproodle called Freddy. He is OCD about balls!

He was beginning to get bad habits of where he liked to try and chase car headlights, lorries, bikes and he continuously barked for a ball on walks.

He also had an issue with wanting to pull and growl at certain dogs on a walk.

I was pointed in the right direction of Laura at Petmind for help by social media.

Got in contact with her and paid for the full 3 month package to get the best results out of this situation.

Within less than the 3 months she helped with Freddy’s bad habits. This was even with myself being offshore and using what she had taught us within the small time frame I had at home with him.

He is now back to being himself. He now has his ball majority of the time on a walk and found that I was depriving him of this as this is much like a dummy for him.

I cannot thank her enough for all the help & training!

Cannot praise PetMind enough and if you have any kind of troubles with you’re dog then laura is definitely the right person to help out.

Happy Owner, Happy Dog

We re-homed a lovely Pug puppy with a great nature, but as novice dog owners, realised we needed a little help with training. Our vet recommended Laura to help with some issues we had, specifically recall and negative reactions to other dogs (and the vet!).

It took us a while to get round to getting in touch with Laura, and I'm so glad we did. She really helped me to understand how Hugo thinks and reacts. I had gotten to the point where I didn't enjoy my walks with Hugo and was anxious whenever we met other dogs as to how he would react - or if he would come back if I let him run off the lead. Laura explained in simple terms why he was reacting the way he was and gave straightforward practical advice on how to change his behaviour. It took some hard work and repetition, but the techniques I learnt working with Laura quickly began to help with all the issues.

Laura is so easy to work with and it's clear she loves working with animals and has a real understanding of them.

I now really enjoy my walks with Hugo and have confidence in my ability as a responsible dog owner. I trust that he will come back to me when I call him. He is a much happier dog too, who gets to run free and chase the birds.

If you need help with dog training I would highly recommend Laura.

We have just finished a consultation…

We have just finished a consultation with Laura (PetMind.co.uk). We took on a worried rescue doggie, Bear, around 18 months ago, and had made great progress with him - mostly to get his confidence built up and get him enjoying the good things in life again. He was 5 when we got him, partially deaf, and we were his home No 4 or 5 - and he didn't engage with human beings, or expect them to take any notice of him. He is not like that any longer.

However, we had a problem with walks and other dogs: Bear is very reactive - other dogs, especially loose ones, are a threat. So he would be rearing up, dancing around on the end of his lead, growling and barking. We decided we needed some professional help - and the vets gave us Laura's details. We read her web site - full of really good stuff - and decided to ask Laura to come and do a behaviour consultation with us. She is most impressive - knowledge of dog behaviour - rapport with Bear (and with us) - and she came up with a strategy to help our situation, and introduced us to some training exercises to reinforce our relationship with Bear, and his "feel-good" well-being. He loves training - loves his play and treats - and we began to see improvements in walks and in his manageability in the first week. We had a practical session with Laura and Inca with Laura telling us what to do on her mobile phone as she observed Bear reacting to Inca. It was exhausting, but so positive, and again, we understand so much better and can see the visible results.

Laura tailor-made a strategy specifically for our needs with Bear - and it is working, far better than I dared to hope. She offers on-going support - stay in touch via email - and we shall take another practical session with Inca in a while. Laura is so pleasant to work with, and a fount of knowledge and understanding about dogs - we have learned so much from her. No miracles, no magic wand, just a lot of hard work and love - and such pleasing results. We shall get there.

Thank you Laura.
