Unethical Practices, Credit Card Fraud, Unsafe Vehicle,Penske Truck Leasing has demonstrated…
Penske Truck Leasing has demonstrated unacceptable business practices. A vehicle rented from them was in extremely poor condition, dirty, unstable while driving, and unfit for safe operation. This posed a serious safety risk and caused significant delays.
After reporting the issue, their representatives verbally confirmed they will take care of the issue. Yet instead of honoring that, Penske attempted to issue a waiver to limit their liability after making verbal commitments, a misleading and unprofessional approach. Penske attempted to charge another card that was used on a previous reservation for gas with permission, which violates their contract if the truck was told to break down.
Additionally, after the vehicle was towed to the Carrollton location, personal property was discovered missing from inside the truck. This raises serious concerns about how Penske handles customers' belongings when vehicles are returned or towed.
Even more troubling, there was an unauthorized attempt to use a payment method unrelated to the reservation, which is not only inappropriate but may also constitute a violation of consumer protection laws.
To date, Penske has failed to address these serious issues appropriately or take responsibility. This experience has raised multiple red flags involving customer safety, accountability, and financial integrity. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Penske to others and advise extreme caution when dealing with them.

Never trust this company
Never use this company for any purpose and definitely don’t trust them for any reason. No company should ever promise something to somebody and not deliver on that promise. Least of all to a bright young woman trying to start her career in the field that she’s spent many long hours studying for in pursuit of a successful and happy life. To be promised an interview and then to wait at her computer and wait for an email that she would never get. Taking time from the many other responsibilities that she already has and just completing wasting it. No company should ever be run like this, it is truly disgusting.

PENSKE ROLLA IS AWFUL.
DO NOT RENT FROM THE ROLLA, MO LOCATION! We were promised a truck with a lift for moving, and we had friends and relatives coming from out of town to help, and they gave away our truck the day before the move. My brother that was coming to help has 2 developmentally disabled children that he got respite for, and this really complicates their lives. Now we have to pay $500-$600 dollars to hire movers. UNBELIEVABLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE on Penske's part. NEVER AGAIN!

Adrian assisted me with booking a truck rental as I am having to move again under extremely unfortunate circumstances. Although I feel overwhelmed and stressed during this time, Adrians pleasant and empathetic attitude towards my situation, made my day and mood that much better. Not only did he offer impressive discounts, he was was also knowledgeable and very resourceful. Adrian went above and beyond and showed a great deal of professionalism. I can only hope that penske has many more employees like Adrian who are willing to be just as amazing as he was in assisting consumers. May this review reach him, his employees, and his upper management so that they are able to share my warmest thank yous. Keep setting a great example!

This location in Laredo Texas on Killian is horrible. I’ve been in and out all day and even though their words were kind their actions were not. I’ve been treated like they have something against me. Every single person that has come thru here has been serviced while me, a black man, has been held up, given the worst equipment and to top it off they’ve done everything with a smile. I’m leasing thru Penske but the lady in service and the fellow at the front desk doesn’t have my safety in mind. I wouldn’t recommend coming to this Penske on 8401 Killam Industrial Blvd
Laredo, TX. If you don’t check your equipment and hold them accountable I think that they would love for someone to ride away to kill themselves or someone else

We were told we could rent a trailer or car dolly to haul our car behind our motorhome. So we reserved a car dolly. Then they told us we have to rent a truck of theirs to haul dolly. What the heck. Get it together. So U-Haul was more than willing to rent us car dolly.

SUCKS MONEY STEALERS
Penske steals single moms money. Was guaranteed money to be returned to me because of an out of state rental that never went out of state. Promised money return and managers would not refund my money nor return my calls.

They stole our deposit
. To Whom It May Concern, I have attached the complaint regarding Penske, along with corporate contacts, and included Isaac Poags in this correspondence. This email addresses a refund of $2,500 that was cashed but has not been returned to the renter, Isaac Poags. We have been in communication via email for at least eight weeks and have made numerous calls to corporate and various locations as instructed. We were informed multiple times that the check had been mailed. I am uncertain whether Mr. Rogers is aware of the poor business practices being conducted by his staff, but I feel it is important to bring this issue to light. I intend to share this situation on social media and other media platforms, as it is unjust. At this juncture, I can only conclude that we are experiencing racial profiling or being treated unfairly due to our status as a minority-owned company. The staff at the Levern, TN location, where we originally rented, along with all individuals mentioned in this email, have consistently provided us with inadequate responses, engaging in unprofessional behavior and tarnishing the reputation of Penske. And last there was nothing in the contract nor was we advised it would take 8 Weeks to receive the check back and in this case we still have yet to receive the check .Im very angry frustrated and have been pushed to my limits with Penske Thank you

Worst service ever I signed for my…
Worst service ever I signed for my truck on June 7, 2024 and as of today for the inconvenience I had to curse everyone out and now almost 90 days in now they said my truck is ready. NEVER BUY OR RENT FROM THEM. They don't care about the customer only the money. I lost 3 contracts waiting on the shop n Representative to fix my truck for purchase. They sell you bad equipment and all I have the contract signed and dated to show this whole process was unprofessional and really disrespectful to any business owner trying to become successful. They lie in there contracts and it's alot more problems with trucks. I promise you won't be happy with them. Don't work with Bryan Haas, Erin k. Or Wes F. And also manager PETER is no help he doesn't want to help and he's the higher up. RYDER has better maintenance trucks and better customer service. You won't be disappointed I know I'm not.

I was given a quote to rent a 12-ft truck one way from Marquette Michigan to Farmington New Mexico. Penske truck rental said it would cost $2,300! to rent for such an arrangement. That's a three-day ride at most.That is absurd and it is very confusing as to why anyone would fork out that much money for that service?

If I could give this company a 0, I would. I reserved a cargo van in Jan for a July pickup trying to plan an across country move. I was told REPEATEDLY when I called to verify my van reservation in May and June that my cargo van reservation was secured. Two weeks before pickup I verified again and was assured I would get the van. The Monday before the Friday pick up, I was told I may not get a van but would be upgraded to a box truck. As an older woman, I did not want the truck. I was told that they would look for one and call me back to give me a status; no one returned the call. The day before July 4, I secured another vendor for the van as a backup. I ended up using that company since on the day of my pickup, Penske didn't have a van for me. I asked why since I had made the reservation 6 months in advance that the party who was supposed to drop off the van was allowed an extension over my reservation and was told that commercial customers have priority over personal use. This last-minute shuffling for a major move was extremely stressful and cost me additional fees I had not anticipated. I would not recommend this company for the way they handle issues. I am sure that the response to this review will be the standard automated response to any review and as disappointing as the rest of my experience.

Horrible experience
The dolly I rented wasn’t sent with the truck and I had to purchase one. That was an extra $100 I really didn’t have to spend but was left with no other choice. The moving blankets I rented were also not included but the guy at the rental desk at Home Depot found some that had been left there and let me use those. The truck only had < 1/4 tank of gas when I picked it up. And the AC was apparently stuck in the defrost position so the cab only got cooler on the freeway at 60+ mph and that WAS NOT funny when the heat index was 104*. The truck was in desperate need of an alignment. There was trash left in it from whoever had it before me. Never again. Save yourself some time l, aggregation and money and go with the with orange trucks.

Do NOT use Hertz-Penske. Never had such a horrible experience renting a one-way truck and we've moved a lot over the years. We booked way in advance for a 22' truck with car tow. Movers were to come the next morning at 8am. Got to the Home Depot at the appointment time and were told they didn't have the vehicle. After a wait, we were told that a different location had one and switched the reservation to there. We got in front of that Home Depot and Hertz-Penske called to say they were mistaken, to go to a different Home Depot that was very far away at this point. We were told that they had called that Home Depot and that they definitely had the truck. We got there, and guess what? No vehicle. They had a 26' but after being on hold with Penske for too long to get that approved, the guy shrugged and said there was nothing he could do. As a side note, I am 68 and my husband 71. We should have been helped way more but the incompetence was frightening. I called the 800 number and they called the last Home Depot. They were told they indeed had the 26' and to go back. I was told by the employee that someone would definitely be able to help with the car tow, after we asked multiple times if they could help. My husband dropped me off at home and drove back, another 30 minutes and they had the vehicle. They showed him the basics, but wouldn't help him figure out how to strap the wheels on. Another delay, so now it is 4 hours after our original appointment and we are both exhausted. I called the district manager who told me they couldn't help with the strap due to liability reasons.My husband finally figured it out and got the vehicle on the road, but each time he goes over a bump, it sounds like an earthquake. I'm sitting here worried that he won't make it home in one piece. This is by far the absolute worst experience with a truck rental ever. Now we have to lug a 26' truck towing our brand new minivan across the country. Never again with Hertz-Penske!!
