This company is a SCAM . I never signed up for mobile , they got my credit card .
They bill me every month ! I called , 4 hours on the phone with 9 agents ! They wouldn’t cancel my service ! This is a nightmare ! Don’t ever go near this horrible company !!

Well now since I've been giving bad…

Well now since I've been giving bad reviews about their phone service they have tried to decide to raise my internet bill i just got off the phone with them and told them and again it's optimum that I was only paying what I agreed to pay when I got the service which was only two months ago which is 30 a month and if they don't agree with it let a supervisor get in touch with me terrible terrible experience with them

UPDATE. JUNE 2025. THEY ARE THREATENING TO RUIN MY CREDIT FOR NOT PAYING FOR SERVICE NOT RECEIVED.
ELDER ABUSE. USE THREATS AND INTIMIDATION.
AFTER TRYING TO RESOLVE: 15 yr CUSTOMER,
I RETURNED EQUIPMENT AND REQUESTED CANCELLATION, THEY DEMAND I pay for 22 days of service NOT RECEIVED. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. After 3 attempts to resolve , THEIR final position: INTIMIDATION AND THREATS TO RUIN MY CREDIT. ELDER ABUSE, AS A RETIREE THIS BEHAVIOR IS ABUSIVE.

spending less and then getting robbed later by optimum.

Pathetic customer service. They lure you to buy an offer. Then they start you billing for no reason. Customer service waiting is ttoo long, multiple transfers and lot of mental exhaustion. They manipulate you to somehow buy their offer, and then they are rude afterwards when you want to cancel the offer bcauz you were being charged for no reason. A deception and pathetic network. I would spend more on other network rather than spending less and then getting robbed later by optimum.

Do not switch to Optimum mobile

Do not switch to Optimum mobile!
You will regret your decision right after you agree to switch. In the beginning of May I was convinced by Optimum to transfer my landline to Optimum mobile. They promised a free phone and $10 a month service for a year. When I agreed to give it a try, it turned out they couldn't transfer my landline number. After 5 emails informing me that Optimum mobile can't transfer the number, I requested a cancellation. It took me more than a month and 7 phone calls (45 minutes each) to close the account. The customer service representatives use all kind of excuses for not closing the account. In addition, here is the information Optimum mobile doesn't tell you: the phone will be free after 3 years of service. If you close the account earlier, you pay $199 for the phone. Even if you return the brand new phone, they charge you $50 restocking fee. The promotional rate $10 is only for a year, the second year will be $45 or more. I don't know anything about the quality of the mobile service, because I cancelled it before it was activated.

Terrible business!!

I came on to write a review and I am not surprised Optimum has a 1.2 star rating!! From 03/24-05/08 I had no service with them, but they want to charge me because that's the day they shipped the device to me. I explained that a family member was sick, and had spinal tumor and I did not have time to call to set up for them to come in and install it. Instead of crediting me the $125 for the time I was not using the service they would prefer to lose me entirely as a customer!! Keep doing what you are doing I am sure you will be out of business soon. Did I mention, I had a fire last year and I had to spend over 45 minutes on the phone with them answering questions before they allowed me to terminate. They are disgusting!!

No service….

If I could give a 0 star I would. No service….. had this line for one day.
Customer service stinks. Operator refused to give me transfer pin. Kept trying to give me free service and a free phone. After 3 attempts and 3 phone calls finally received my transfer pin. Had the service for 24 hours as the service on my phone was nonexistent. Today I received a reminder that my bill was due. Only to advise them that I had cancelled the service 5 days prior to her phone call. Had to be transferred again to the cancellation department and another 45 mins in the phone.
Do yourself a favor and pay the extra for service from a well known company they are not worth the headache.

Held hostage and interrogated

I called Optimum Mobile to request my transfer PIN so I could port my number out—and what should have been a simple request turned into a frustrating ordeal. I ended up speaking to three different representatives and was on the phone for over 30 minutes while two of them repeatedly tried to get me to stay.

Even after I clearly said I wasn’t interested in hearing any offers, I was told I had to listen in order to receive my PIN. One rep even said, “Please let me do my job,” which made it clear he was just following company policy. I don’t blame the reps—they were respectful and doing what they were trained to do—but that training is the problem.

Customers should not be held hostage or pressured into staying just to access their own account information. I shouldn’t have to explain or defend my decision to switch carriers. This aggressive retention tactic is manipulative and needs to change. Optimum, respect your customers’ autonomy.

Optimum billing practices

I was a customer in Brady, TX, of Suddenlink and then Optimum (after they acquired Suddenlink) for 13 years. I seldom had an issue until Optimum took over. Last month I dropped internet service because of increased costs and lack of bandwidth. I started with a new service on April 2, the 1st day of billing period for Optimum. They now insist on charging $131 for entire month of April. I spoke with several CS reps over last couple of weeks who told me to wait for final bill which would be adjusted but now I have a late charge and last rep insisted there will be no adjustment. It galls me, but I will pay them for no service because it’s less than the legal fees would be. BEWARE.

Disgusted beyond belief!!

Lets see if this does any good at all. I called on the end of March to turn off my internet service due to the constant outages. The retention department offered me a deal to not turn it off to see if the issue could be fixed and I agreed. A few days after that there was another outage. I called the first part of April to cancel the service at which time I was told it was cancelled. Well it obviously was not as I was billed for internet at $90. I then called back and was told the previous rep did not cancel the service correctly and that this time it was done properly and the $90 charge was removed from my bill. I just got an email stating that my bill was ready. Imagine my sheer disgust to see yet again another charge for internet at $90. I called in again and got a run around. I was finally connected to a rep who told me the same thing, the previous rep did not cancel the service correctly, but that he would make sure it was done correctly. Gave me a confirmation#. He told me that he could not adjust my bill and that I would have to talk to the billing department. He then transferred me to an all Spanish line who in turn transferred me to tech support who in turn transferred me to billing. Billing informed me that it still shows that I have internet service and would do nothing about adjusting the bill. I do not have 1-2 hours every month to call in to deal with the same issue again and again. My next call will be to my State Attorney, because Optimum continuing to bill me for a service I cancelled is FRAUD!

Optimum Mobile - THIEVES

Optimum Customer Retention hard sold me on migrating my pre-existing Internet to fiber optic IF I also got mobile service so I could save $40 on my monthly bill on April 9. They told me I had 21 days for buyer remorse. The next day I called Optimum to CANCEL the mobile service and the migration. They shipped the mobile device anyway. I returned it with a label they provided. They activated the device without my consent (after sending me 4 reminders to activate, which I ignored) and continue to charge me for mobile service even after I returned the unopened device. They claimed I didn't cancel service, only that I returned the device. They didn't tell me there would be a $50 "restocking" fee and they won't refund the service they activated and threaten to charge me for the device. I have spent over 120 minutes on phone calls with them. They continue to charge my debit card.

Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Canceling services was incredibly difficult, and while their prices are low, the customer service quality was equally poor. I wouldn't recommend them based on my experience

Don’t make the switch to Optimum Mobile

Please do not leave your carrier for Optimum mobile. I used them for exactly 12 hours and immediately left them after two contacts with their subpar technical support department. Within the first 3 hours I was on the phone with technical support because my voicemail greeting stated to record your greeting and hit pound when completed. No matter how fast I talked, it cut me off in seconds. I basically said, “I’ll call you back” That tech support told me to deal with it. Then 2 doctors called me the next day and their messages were cut off after seconds speaking. Then I used chat support where they tried to make messages longer. He told me my voicemails should be 4 minutes but no matter what he did it was seconds long. He told me after hours on support chat to call Samsung which was pawning me off because he was out of ideas. I told him Samsung has nothing to do with my voicemail and he’s pawning me off because he doesn’t know how to fix it. Forget caller ID, they can’t fix that either. Everyone on your account will display your name on every phone and unlike T-Mobile there’s no way to fix it. I was told to use an outside program called camid but I couldn’t tell you what that was. 5g was 100x slower then T-Mobile’s 5GUC which I presently had. With 14 hours I was switching back to T-Mobile and canceling Optimum mobile. Not that I’m a Reddit person but on there was talk about all they use T-Mobile for is roaming otherwise it’s altice service. They need to stick with overpriced internet and TV. Of course it wasn’t easy leaving optimum mobile for T-Mobile threatening that I’ll lose my special deal. I received 2 lines for $5 a month for a year and internet for $30 a month for 3 years so I thought I’d try it. Did I know I’d be back on T-Mobile in 14 hours, no but I should have known deal was too good to be true. You’ve been warned. Don’t make the switch.

Phone lines disappeared from our accounts

Our phone numbers were compromised due to a hacking incident. An unauthorized individual gained access to our account, requested an exit pin, and Optimum mobile provided it without verification, resulting in the loss of our phone lines. We have acquired new numbers;. We are having a very very stressful month by changing all passcodes emails and trying to stop the individuals on accessing more of our accounts .🥲😞🤦🏼‍♀️ Don’t sign up with them !

Go elsewhere if you can

I canceled my optimum internet last year due to it not even being worth the price with very little channels.

I foolishly at the same time I went with optimum got their mobile service. I can't stress enough that it is terrible service. I have been complaining about this for well over a year and I'm constantly met with the excuse that it is the phone when in fact, it is the service. Dropped calls, all calls are on a delay so when I speak to people I am talking over them, text messages don't go through etc etc

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from optimum. They brag about having the best service but it is obviously a ploy for profit.
