As of today

As of today, I do not have the urge to drink. I was previously a daily drinking and knew I needed to stop/ cut back significantly. I am only in the first week, so I will see where the future goes with this journey. I will say that I am having trouble sleeping, and I feel a little nauseous. These are normal effects that were explained prior to beginning the treatment.

Congratulations on your progress, Ralph! Feeling that urge to drink go away can be so powerful.

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling uncomfortable side effects. Some people do not experience side effects at all, but it's no fun if you're in the group that does. The good news is that side effects do typically dissipate with continued use of naltrexone as your body gets used to the medication.

I think it's great that you are taking the long view. Thank you for trusting us to be a partner in your journey.

The process and meds work

The process was very easy and the medication worked for alcohol. As a veteran I was fortunate enough to get follow up treatment from the VA, however, Oarhealth got me started at a very reasonable price. Thank you.
Also, I had an issue with accounting later and their customer service was able to resolve it quickly and respectfully. Thanks again.
I would suggest that they use the same 48 hour notification that others use before renewing prescription.
I appreciate all they have done for me.

Thank you for sharing your review, Orlando. It's great to hear that Oar Health was helpful to you in starting treatment and that you have continued to get follow-up care through the VA.

I especially appreciate your feedback on the accounting issue that you encountered. While we do notify members of upcoming renewals and shipments 7 days in advance, I can see the benefit of an additional reminder and will discuss your suggestion with our team. In your case, I'm glad to hear that our customer service team was able to resolve the issue quickly and helpfully! I will pass on the feedback to them as well.

I am so grateful to have found Our Health!
The medication flipped a switch and I no longer have the desire to drink. I think it’s a miracle!
The first few days were challenging with extreme tiredness. But that was ok because of the hope of never wanting to drink again. It also made me less hungry which was an added benefit. I did try some drinks a few times but it just didn’t make me feel good. My only wish is that I had found this medication earlier. Naltrexone 50mg tablet has been a God send to me. I do not miss drinking, I have a lot more money and I always feel good! Oh and the added bonus of losing weight!

Congratulations on your tremendous progress, Gina!

It's great to hear what a game-changer medication has been for you. I hope you give yourself some serious credit for sticking with the medication through the initial side effects. While not everyone experiences side effects, it's no fun when you find yourself in the group that does, and tiredness is among the more commonly reported side effects of naltrexone. Luckily, as you've discovered, side effects do tend to decrease or go away entirely with time as the body gets used to naltrexone.

Keep noticing the long-term benefits you're seeing, like saving money, feeling better and losing some weight! We're proud to be a part of your journey.

I was drinking way too much...starting early in the morning and through the day. I felt out of control, so I joined OAR. I was really amazed that my cravings went away from day one! I don't know if everyone has this experience, but it worked for me.I found myself in a much better mood and I was actually going through a bad time in other areas. It helped me to face life with a clear mind and able to handle things that would have sent me to the bottle before! I am truly amazed that now I can have one glass of wine wih my husband and not feel like I need more.I am so grateful that I found OAR and enjoy the support that they give me!

I have virtually no craving for alcohol

I have virtually no craving for alcohol. I have taken the medication every day. I have read some bad reviews and see that the people complaining have not fully read or understood the agreement. The $50 fee is a good example. I questioned the fee and was reminded that it was the questionnaire to be sure I didn't have any conditions or on any medications that would make me a risk for taking the medication.

Susan, it is great to hear that you are noticing fewer cravings for alcohol and finding moderation in your evening drinking. That sounds like meaningful progress in your first few weeks!

I'm sorry to hear that you had such difficult side effects in the first few days. While many people do not experience side effects, it's no fun if you are in the group that does, and nausea is the most common. Easier than Expected

After 10 days the med does decrease my cravings for wine - I was drinking a bottle a day for months. The side effects were not as difficult as I expected. One that was surprising was feeling a bit light headed for about an hour after taking the pill.

It sounds as though you've had some good and some less good surprises along the way, which is common when we're making important changes. Most importantly, it sounds as though you're staying focused on your goals and that your prescribed medication is helping you do that.

Keep up the good work,
