They claim for the company that will…

The claim for the company that will offer you the opportunity to grow even if the particular job you started with isn’t the best fit is a complete lie. I was treated like shit when I worked there, and I am absolutely never going to give them a positive review because I have never been treated more poorly by ignorant young managers in finance in my life. He had only one goal and it was to make himself look good, but he had nothing to do with anything else around him, and that included trying to grow his team or absolutely trying to increase their knowledge. He was useless. And I am ashamed that I wasted a year there.

Almost 3 months and still no desk

---02.03.2025 --
After waiting 3 months, I have cancelled the order.
----
It has been 3 months now and I am still waiting for my desk (Solo Sit-to-Stand). I try to connect with support team and they are writing back and forth, sayin they are on this case for the last 2 weeks but they also have no idea where is my desk. Apparently the logistics company they work is really bad, but steelcase seems also cannot resolve issues for their customers when you look at the comments here.
Update - 25-02-2025: Still no desk. I saw in one of the comment here they said: "We understand the frustration caused by inaccurate delivery times and missing tracking information. We want you to know that we are taking this issue seriously and are actively working on a solution. We are working on improving our delivery logistics and communication systems to ensure a smoother and more transparent experience for our customers." in 09/2023, apparently no improvement.

Severe back pain, stinky, stained chair.

I am severly disappointed in this chair. For the money it is the biggest piece of overpriced junk I have ever purchased.

1. It is causing severe back pain that a <$200 chair fixes.
2. It traps odor really bad, it smells like a dirty gym locker room.
3. It is stained from my pants somehow. There is gunk getting stuck in the mesh which makes it look stained, this is from my pants, I do not eat while in the chair, no other chair I sit on looks like this.

The best desk chair

Placing an order on steelcase.com was easy. It shipped and arrived as expected.

I'm using my new Gesture chair from Steelcase for a month now. Surely it is the most expensive chair I've ever bought, I can also say it is the most comfortable chair I've ever had. Every part can be moved so you can fit it to your liking. Should have bought it years ago!

Shipping damage and u responsive CS

Very poor experience. My Amia chair came in damaged with a lot of scratches and there was a hole in the box where the wheel stuck out. Chair potentially also exposed with a hole in the box as it makes squeeky sounds. As bonus I got a manual for the Leap chair instead of Amia.

The quality team has to have a look at it and while this in progress, I have to keep the box which takes enormous of space in a small house. If necessary I have to send the chair back in a box that's literally destroyed. Don't know how that will work.

It has been 3 weeks now with no response from Steelcase. I expected more for the price and reputation.

It has been around two months I’m waiting for my chair. They just say we do not know where is the chair and no way to get any status from the cargo company. They say if you want we can return your money. But is is unpleasant to get around 1k from the customer which is in need of a chair, keep them waiting and instead of delivering another identical product, just say the product is lost!!!
I do not satisfied with my experience at all with this company

Disappointing QC

Got a Geature recently and it was delivered to me upside-down with lubricant all over the chair frame. The fabric towards the back of the seat had riples/wrinkles and the armrests had a very noticible height difference of more than 10mm. Reached out to their customer support and instead of offering me a replacement they asked me to try and adjust the fabric with my hands. That didn't help and if anything it made the issue worse. As for the armrest height difference they told me that they have a tolerance of 5mm but mine is clearly at least double that. As they have indicated on the webpage of the product the delivery time is 3 weeks and it was very disappointing to face all those QC issues from a high regarded brand such as Steelcase. The resolution is also taking really long due to the holidays but I hope that soon they will do the right thing and offer a replacement because I genuinely like the chair. Until then I would be lying if I gave them anything more than 2/5.

Steelcase Amia Seat adjustable height issue

I purchased a Steelcase Amia office chair during the Black Friday discounts. The chair arrived within the promised delivery timeframe, but I immediately noticed an issue: the seat does not lower enough for me to achieve a 90-degree leg angle with my feet flat on the floor. I am 5'6" tall, which should be comfortably accommodated according to the official dimensions listed on the Amia website (lower setting: 410mm, higher setting: 525mm). However, upon measuring the seat height, I discovered a significant discrepancy: the actual range is approximately 510mm to 610mm.
I contacted customer service to report the issue, but their response was disappointing. They stated that the differences I noted are standard deviations and referenced the European standard EN 1335-1:2020, explaining that measurements are taken differently. While the standard (EN 1335-1:2020) allows for a deviation of +/- 8mm, my measurements show a much greater inconsistency. My measurements were taken from a point very close to the one specified in the referenced European standard.
For reference, I have never encountered an office chair that didn’t allow me to place my feet flat on the ground. I even asked others slightly taller than me (5'7" and 5'8") to try the chair, and they also found it too high.
Aside from this issue, I’m happy with the chair overall and would prefer to keep it. Unfortunately, the only options provided were to keep the chair as is—despite what I believe is a manufacturing fault—or return it, which would cost me the delivery charge. Returning the chair isn’t ideal for me, as I would lose part of my money and the benefit of the discounted price.
I wish the company had been more transparent about the potential for dimensional discrepancies. This would have influenced my purchasing decision, as accurate specifications are critical for a product with a 12-year warranty. When a product is advertised as meeting specific standards, I expect those claims to hold up under scrutiny, especially with the price range of an amia chair.
Had this issue been disclosed, I would have chosen a different chair or brand. While the chair itself is high-quality, this experience has left me dissatisfied with the overall purchase and the lack of satisfactory resolution from customer service. I would recommend considering another company if you're looking for a more reliable and transparent buying experience.

Rather brave of you to send this…

Rather brave of you to send this survey.
First of all 6 weeks since order and no chair yet.
We have reached out on several occasions, especially since the 'order fulfilled' signal was sent rather quickly after ordering. Over the past weeks the information was friendly but non informative and certainly not providing any insight in an actual delay. So 6 weeks down and counting, hoping to ever receive a chair.

Received faulty item need return and refund Installation person came and assembled…

Installation person came and assembled the chair but height adjustment is not working, height adjustment handle is keep on rotating no tightness, he tried to do all the possibilities ad told chair itself is a faulty item. you can also confirm with installation person. I didn't expect this to be like this. Also quality of the chair and plastic is not at all worthy for price. I'm totally disappointed need return and refund.

Great product, communication not so much

Great product, communication not so much.

I am really happy with the chair I bought at steelcase. The customer experience from ordering till arrival, however, was not great.

I fully expected that the delivery of my order would take a while, that was clear from the moment i ordered on the site. The communication about the different steps in the production and logistics process was completely insufficient. I received a message saying my order was shipped a day after ordering, which could not be the case since the product would be "custom made for me". After that, complete silence untill a couple of weeks after that. that message only contained a title saying i should be a littel more patient. 2 weeks later i contacted steelcase myself, not knowing the current status, and a day after that i got contacted by the delivery company. This is something that i think can be and should be improved.

Subpar customer experience for very expensive and great product

I placed an order on October 23rd, the estimated delivery date was indicated to be “as stated in the website”, which was up to 3 weeks. A month has passed, I had to contact myself support to ask when my order would be delivered. They indicate me between 18-19 November. It was not delivered and I received no contact from them or the courier.
It is astounding a premium product has this support. After reading here other experiences I am considering cancelling my order, this is not going to end well.

Update: the order was further delayed, however it was finally delivered. The product itself is very good, but I can't give 5 starts when the delivery has no tracking, takes a month and a half, there are no clear deadlines when ordering, and once they give you a date it is not respected. Furthermore, it doesn't say it anywhere but without lift they won't deliver the product to your door.

Frustrating Delivery Experience with Steelcase - 2 Months and Still Waiting!

I’ve been waiting for my Steelcase Gesture chair since September 18th. The delivery experience has been incredibly frustrating, primarily due to the delivery company, VIR by JP, which has been unprofessional and unreliable. When they first attempted delivery on October 9th, they refused to bring the chair up to my apartment, expecting me to retrieve it directly from the truck on the street, which I declined.

Since then, I’ve been in touch with Steelcase, and while they have tried to help, the issue remains unresolved. After a month of back-and-forth, I finally agreed to pick up the chair from the truck, and we scheduled delivery for October 28th. I even took a day off work to be available. However, on that day, the delivery company called, asking me to prepare my chair for pickup, mistakenly thinking I was returning it instead of waiting for its initial delivery. Frustrated, I contacted Steelcase again, and we rescheduled for November 5th. Today, November 4th, I was informed that the delivery had been postponed once more to November 8th.

I genuinely appreciate Steelcase's products, but until they address these issues with their delivery partner, I will not consider future purchases. Their support team has tried to assist, but communication has been slow, and ultimately, they’ve been unable to effectively manage this delivery company. If you want to avoid waiting months for a product, I would strongly advise reconsidering any purchase from Steelcase.

Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for making us acknowledge these kinds of problems.

We appreciate that you reached out to us. Since changing the courier in The Netherlands, we have experienced some unpleasant surprises despite our efforts to make the transition as smooth as possible.

We escalated the situation internally and ensured your delivery would have no more delays. From what we checked today as well, the delivery was made. We hope everything went well and that the quality of the chair will compensate for the unpleasant delivery experience.

Thank you once again for your patience!

Avoid! High price! Unusable chair! Poor service! Unresponsive customer support!

I ordered a Steelcase Silq chair for €1,399 at the beginning of August this year. It took a month for it to arrive. When I went to assemble it, it turned out that the wrong footrest had been packed and the gas spring was too narrow, reaching all the way to the floor. After contacting customer service immediately and sending pictures of the problem, it took several weeks for the service engineer to arrive. He wasn't properly briefed on the problem and didn't have the right parts, so he left without solving the issues. Now, two and a half months after ordering, I still don't have a chair to sit on, and I'm still getting no answers from customer services.

𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵:
The service engineer arrived after another month. This time he came with the wrong spare part. He came with the identical gas spring instead of the correct footrest. He then wrapped the wrong gas spring in tape to make it fit the large hole in the footrest. The results is a botched repair and a chair that is not loadable with body weight without the gas spring hitting the floor. I have now reached out to the customer service in the hopes to return the chair after not having a place to sit, three months after ordering.

Save yourself time and money. Don't buy Steelcase.

Despite a recommendation to not use Steelcase, I still went with them. Silly me. The company has been completely unresponsive to issues with the chair. Don't waste your time or your money buying Steelcase. I would not hesitate to recommend buying an alternative such as Herman Miller.

I've never left a review good or bad for office equipment before but this has been so poor I feel I need to let others be aware.

Edit: In response to Steelcases' "we have no issue associated with your order" I have forwarded to the suggested email address the original issue, my answer to the initial response, the follow up chase to that which never got a response and also the second follow up which also never got a response.

Steelcase also need to work on how they check their email records. The recent spate of bad reviews is very telling.

They partnered the worst delivery company

They chose to partner with the worst courrier I have ever encountered. They send you an SMS that your delivery can be planned with a link that doesn’t work. Then you have to call them by yourselves and the answer you get is “yeahh maybe we can deliver next week, but probably not”.

I then asked Steelcase to cancel and refund my order, which they did very quickly. Unfortunately, the delivery company never seemed to understand the cancellation because they came to my doorstep 3 times and sent me an SMS every day to “pick up my return”. I have nothing to pick up because it was never delivered in the first place.

I understand that this is not Steelcase’s doing, but they are the ones that chose to partner with this delivery company so they are in my opinion still responsible for it.

Hello!

Thank you for the order and for taking the time to signal this problem to us. We have recently changed our delivery provider for Eshop shipments to the Netherlands, and despite our efforts to ensure a smooth transition, we are unfortunately experiencing some unforeseen delays.

We are very sorry about your experience. We are happy that our team quickly issued the refund - even though we wish that would not have been necessary in the first place.

We understand and see how this can be a frustrating experience, and we are working to improve this.
