Founded by Dr. Hannan in 2021, My Dental Advocate was born from a dentist’s desire to clarify patients’ dental needs. In his practice, he encountered many clients anxious about their dental treatments, often asking, ‘Is this procedure necessary?’, ‘What if I wait?’ and ‘Are there cheaper options? Addressing these worries, he saw an opportunity to improve patient communication and understanding of dental options. Thus, My Dental Advocate was created to provide access to expert advice and educational resources for all. My Dental Advocate aims to educate and empower patients through easy-to-access resources and affordable, remote consultations with board-certified dentists.

MDA was so helpful when I needed a 2nd opinion, especially when I saw a new dentist in my area and wanted to make sure I was getting honest and accurate advice. If you need a second set of eyes from a knowledgeable source MDA really has your back!

Avoided unnecessary and costly procedures

I contacted Dr Hannan for a second opinion after my dentist recommended a crown to fix a sensitive tooth. Dr Hannans advised fixed my problem and helped me avoid getting costly work I didn't need. I'm very grateful for his honest and caring evaluation. I highly recommend his unbiased dental advice.

Imagine going to the dentist for a…

Imagine going to the dentist for a broken tooth and he convinces you to get Invisalign. You spend thousands of dollars and almost a year on Invisalign, then one day, when you are consciously sedated to get medicine put down in the roots in an attempt to save that broken tooth.

Also each visit they find something else they did not notice before. Was not on the dental plan. Was not discussed they just decided to do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. Even though they all knew I would not have accepted any of it. They would alway end the appointment unfinished so I had no choice but to go back for another appointment and leave with more unfinished problems. They still have not addressed the original issue of the broken tooth still does not have a crown.

You get home and the medicine wears off and you realize they, for no reason at all, without any discussion or consent, on top of the previous random extras that probably were unnecessary, all the teeth in your lower arch have been filed down to nubs. Overwhelmed with confusion, when you contact the dentist office to find out what happen why they did it, the girl that works the desk tells you that your previous dentist prepped the teeth for crowns.

No. That is not true or my teeth would have had crowns. My previous dentist, which was in 2010, did not prep my teeth for crowns, I have many many many photos of my teeth up til just a week before this appointment of my mouth showing these teeth did not need to be filed down and I’m not very happy about any of it..

this was probably my biggest fear waking up in the dentist chair with no teeth. You hear stories of weird dentist doing weird things. Like pulling teeth riding a hoverboard or pulling exes teeth while they were knocked out..

But taking the time to file healthy teeth down to nubs for hours and not even acknowledging what they did. Then doubling the already crazy high bill.. just ball z. Hope it was worth it to them and I hope they go to jail to stop them from doing this to others.

Now, this hopefully will not happen to you but that does not mean your dentist won’t go to less extreme of unnecessary dental work.

If you have a treatment plan that maybe questionable then you need to send it to the dental advocate. Its value far exceeds the cost of service.

I hope they continue to care and be there for people like me that don’t know what to do or if it’s just me over thinking what happen. I am not. I think I’m under thinking it. But I have a good idea of my next step.

Even though it was too late to prevent my dentist from destroying my teeth and ripping me off I went ahead and sent my stuff to the dental advocate just to get some sort of clarity for my sanity.

I really was not expecting it to be very useful as I had sent to a different online second opinion which was very generic and not very helpful and that other site took quite a while to reply to my situation.

I was wrong. Matt from the dental advocate was very helpful. I will say he went above and beyond expectations by addressing many different issues I had overlooked and provided a better understanding of why they could have done what they did but since the filing of my teeth down to nubs was never discussed before hand that is a big no no. I know that may sound like exaggeration. No. It’s very real.. The other information the dental advocate provided me was invaluable. I could go on and on but this review will be too long and nobody would even read it because it’s so long.

If you are questioning your treatment plan, hopefully before they get started or destroy your teeth and soul forever, you should have this service.

They reply very quick and take the time to read your information and address each and every issue you inquire about plus others you had not even thought about. All for such a low price I asked if I needed to pay again because he helped soo much.

I would definitely use this service again in the future and would definitely convince my friends or family to use them if they are getting any dental treatment.

I will never have a second chance to get another opinion on my treatment plan as all my teeth are nubs. These teeth were not even in my treatment plan except 17 trays of Invisalign which was also probably unnecessary to need that many trays. But hey. The more trays the more money doc makes. And that seems to be the reason behind the extra dental work that was gradually added (without a word or discussion or reason)

Hope they had a nice Christmas this year and a miserable life in jail to protect the public from their evil plans from greed

MyDentalAdvocate helped my tooth pain!

MyDentalAdvocate helped me save my crown by recommending a mouthguard. Having experienced pain while chewing and finding my bite was causing a sensitive spot I’m now pain free and have no trouble with sensitivity thanks to MyDentalAdvocate for recommending a mouthguard.

Overall excellent resource

Overall excellent resource with clear explanations of dental procedures in terms I understand. Requested second opinion for insight and options for a possible root canal and pleased with response and options. Have also appreciated the product reviews and now purchase sensitive teeth toothpaste based on review recommendation.

The second opinion and dental review

The second opinion and dental review I got from Dr. Hannan was beyond worth it!! It was fast, easy, and the doctor had amazing follow up. The review of my dental cbct was the reassurance I needed to proceed with a cavitation/extraction surgery. I am healing up great and my health is beginning to improve! I will be using them for future dental second opinions before having any procedure done! They truly have compassion for each patient!

Fantastic Resource…

Knowing that I could get a second opinion for work that my dentist recommended. I just started with a new dentist and was told I had 6 cavities. I have stayed on top of my dental care and didn’t see how this can be accurate. MDA is so easy to use. You can send your X-rays and treatment plan over for review to make sure you are not getting unnecessary work performed. MDS is a fantastic resource.

Successful second opinion

I contacted Dr. Hannan for a second opinion on a dental procedure that had been recommended to me by my dentist.
Dr. Hannan reviewed my information and recommended a different, more effective, approach to solve my problem which I did with my new dentist. The results were very successful.
I also use his site for information on other dental products he recommends.

When I had a problem with my bridge work, being that it broke away from my back tooth the dentist advocate helped me to understand why it couldn’t be reattached to that tooth which made my decision for a fix much easier. Thank you for that information.

Honestly the process couldn’t be easier. I’ve been to so many dentists, and they all seem to find new expensive procedures I “need”

It’s amazing to have a third party place to get down to the truth! Thank you for this incredible service. I’ve been telling all my friends!
